ADV Announces New Releases for September 25

HOUSTON, August 17 – ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime outside of Japan, is pleased to present two great new titles, including the second volume in the romantic odyssey Air and the sixth and final volume of the fan-favorite series Utawarerumono. Both titles will hit store shelves September 25.

AIR TV VOLUME TWO

Also Available With a Limited Edition Collectors Box

ADV Films is pleased to offer fans the second of four DVDs collecting the series Air, the sweeping epic fans have been clamoring for since it first aired on Japanese TV more than two years ago. Volume two of Air TV is also available in a limited edition Collectors Box large enough to hold the entire series. Both items hit store shelves September 25.

From famed production studio Kyoto Animation (Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Inuyasha) and Director Tatsuya Ishihara (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kanon) comes a thought-provoking series that has American fans already singing praises. With gorgeous animation and character designs, “you'll instantly be drawn into this show's captivating world” (Newtype USA).

Synopsis: The search for the winged girl behind the sky continues. As Yukito's relationship with Misuzu grows, new complications surface. Whereas Misuzu yearns for a companion closer than ever before, Yukito is forced to choose between what the heart wants and what the heart needs. Meanwhile, the strain on Minagi's life at home is bought to light. She lives with her mother, yet remains alone. Only great loss may bring the two of them together. Also, a glimpse of the past answers the queries of the present – but with it, new questions arise; deeper, darker and more dangerous.

Air TV: Frayed Feathers (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes five through eight, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 5.1 with English subtitles. Extras include clean opening animation, clean closing animation and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

UTAWARERUMONO: A SONG FOR POSTERITY

ADV Films is pleased to bring fans the sixth and final volume in the fan-favorite series Utawarerumono: A Song for Posterity, hitting store shelves September 28

From veteran production studio Oriental Light and Magic (Berserk, Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor) comes the tale of a man in a mask he can't remove. With a heart-felt story and exciting action set in a far-off land, Utawarerumono will appeal to fans of Inuyasha. Make sure to get your dose of action and intrigue in what theOtaku.com calls “a great series for those looking for something with action, drama, a touch of comedy.”

Synopsis: The question of Hakuoro's past has never loomed more ominously. Now, the reluctant leader is forced to piece together his true identity, even as more questions arise. How is it possible to have a twin from an alternate world? Why is Eluluu named Mikoto in this futuristic world? And will the traitorous Genjimaru plunge his people into certain destruction as the new head of the Tuskuru army? One thing is for certain – Hakuoro must embrace both the darkness and light hidden deep within himself in order to find the truth. Is Hakuoro's quest for peace, love and family really a mask for an evil lust for blood? Find out in the sixth and final supernatural volume of Utawarerumono!
