Japanese Translator
Currently looking to fill a full-time position translating written and spoken Japanese into English.
Duties and responsibilities
- Translate scripts from Japanese to English and meet deadlines
- Double check existing translations for quality
- Transcribe, translate, and double check credits
- Research references and terminology to ensure accuracy
- Answer questions regarding translation issues on projects
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Japanese, Japanese literature, or linguistics
- Strong knowledge of kanji
- Extreme attention to detail
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Translation experience a plus
- Familiarity with the video, comic book, and video game industry a plus
- Other Asian languages a plus
