FUNimation Entertainment Acquires Claymore from NTV

Techno-Fantasy Anime Series comes to the United States

Flower Mound, TX – February 18, 2008 – Following an online video reveal on the new www.funimation.com on Friday, FUNimation® Entertainment today officially announces that it has acquired rights to the 26-episode anime series Claymore from Japan's Nippon Television which aired the series in 2007. FUNimation has acquired DVD and broadcast rights to the series.

The Claymore storyline was loosely adapted from the best-selling Claymore manga series. The anime was directed by Hiroyuki Tanaka and produced by Madhouse Studios (Beyblade, BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, Gunslinger Girl).

About Claymore
In a world where monsters called Yoma prey on humans and live among them in disguise, humanity's only hope is a new breed of warrior known as Claymore. Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength, but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely.

FUNimation Entertainment will release the first volume and starter set of the Claymore anime series in fall 2008.
