Kris Ferber from Albany, New York Outduels More Than 1200 Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Trading Card Game Enthusiasts to Win Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.'s United States 2009 National Championship

at the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's TRADING CARD GAME World Championship In Tokyo

Pittsburgh, PA – (July 14, 2009) – The battle started with more than 1200 Duelists vying for the chance to be crowned the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) U.S. 2009 National Champion. It finished with Kris Ferber from Albany, New York winning it all. Ferber out-battled and outlasted the field to earn the opportunity to represent his country in Tokyo, Japan on August 8th at the Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's TRADING CARD GAME 2009 World Championship.

“We had a tremendously talented field of more than 1200 competitors turn out for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME U.S. National Championship in Pittsburgh,” noted Yumi Hoashi, vice president of Card Business for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We know Kris and the three other finalists will represent the U.S. exceptionally well in Tokyo at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship next month.”

Kris went head-to-head with Michael for the top honors after two days of Dueling. Both were up to the task, utilizing competition ready Decks, Ferber using a Rescue Cat/Synchro Monster theme and Kohanim rocking the Gladiator Beasts, respectively. Kris took home a prize pack that included such items as the 1st Place Trophy; a “Dark End Dragon” Prize Card, a complete set of Raging Battle and a complete set of Ghost Rare cards from Tactical Evolution through Raging Battle, a digital camera, a day of sightseeing in Japan, a popular gaming console and a Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 video game, a 2009 National Championship Game Mat, his player profile on Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG website, a 2009 National Championship Card Binder and a set of four Ultra Rare Token Cards. In all, the top four U.S. National finalists will receive a paid trip to the World Championship and other prizes, courtesy of KDE.

The road to the U.S. Nationals began in late April at the SHONEN JUMP Championship in Anaheim, California and then progressed through more than 76 Regional Qualifier and Dragon Duel events held around the country.
