Panels and screenings are now online at nyanimefestival.com, we just announced AKB48, and for the past few weeks we've been letting a few names from FUNimation's Soul Eater slip. Pretty exciting, no? What do you think? Can't wait for NYAF any more? I know it's difficult, but there are actually three reasons you'll be able to hold out until September 25th

1) The Brooklyn Book Festival New York Comic Con -- NYAF's sister show -- is hosting a Pavilion at the Brooklyn Book Festival on September 13. Come on by, see us, and meet the NYCC and NYAF staff and guests!

2) Eureka Seven Day September 20 is Eureka Seven Day at Kinokuniya. Celebrate NYAF and the theatrical premiere of the Eureka Seven movie with this day-long event including prizes, screenings, and -- wait for it -- maids. Full details are coming soon.

3) The NYAF Pre-Party Jointly produced by NYAF and Del Rey Manga, this special event held on the eve of the 2009 New York Anime Festival is both a celebration of this year's NYAF as well as a celebration of Del Rey Manga's Fifth Anniversary -- and to mark this special occasion, NYAF and Del Rey Manga invite fans and professionals alike to partake in food, drink, giveaways, and a cake crafted by Baltimore's famed Charm City Cakes specifically for the NYAF and Del Rey Manga party. You heard me right. Free cake from Charm City Cakes. It all goes down at 5:30 PM on September 24 at Dave and Buster's in Times Square. I'll see you there!

That's it for this week. Keep your eyes on www.newyorkanimefestival.com, www.mediumatlarge.net, and www.twitter.com/ny_anime_fest, as we've got a lot more coming in the coming weeks!
