Seven Seas to Expand Lunaverse

(LOS ANGELES, March 29, 2010) – Seven Seas is pleased to announce the much-anticipated continuation and expansion of its bestselling original manga series Amazing Agent Luna, which will include additional volumes of the main series as well as an all-new two volume spin-off.

Currently spanning five volumes and two omnibus editions, Amazing Agent Luna, written by Nunzio Defilippis & Christina Weir (New X-Men, Destiny's Hand) and illustrated by Shiei (Aoi House, Avalon: The Warlock Diaries), is the story of Luna Collins, a fifteen-year-old girl grown in a lab from the finest genetic material and trained since birth to be the government's ultimate espionage weapon. But her training as a ninja spy has left her totally unprepared to handle the stresses and strains of everyday teenage life, as she struggles with her ongoing mission to pose as an ordinary teenager at an elite high school in order to thwart an evil plot.

“We're very excited about expanding the Lunaverse," said Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis. "Since Seven Seas launched back in 2004, Amazing Agent Luna was our first tentpole and one of the series that's near and dear to our hearts. We can't imagine Seven Seas without a Luna product, and fans keep clamoring for more. Between the omnibus editions and Kindle sales, the series has become a consistent backlist title for us and has made more Luna product possible."

With the October 2010 release of Amazing Agent Luna Vol. 6, the latest installment in the series will introduce a whole new story arc for our super-spy heroine. Luna's former nemesis and ex-boyfriend, Jonah Von Brucken, son of the evil Count Von Brucken, is returning to Nobel High, and the Agency has sent Luna back to school to find out what he's up to. When the daughter of a scientific genius working on cold fusion transfers to Nobel, Jonah instantly takes a liking to her and Luna springs into espionage action. But is she really worried about the secrets of fusion falling into the wrong hands, or is she just jealous that Jonah has found someone new?

Following the release of Amazing Agent Luna Vol. 6, Seven Seas will launch an all-new two volume prelude series entitled Amazing Agent Jennifer that explores the origins of Project Luna through the eyes of the woman responsible for its creation: Luna's control agent, Jennifer Kajiwara. Amazing Agent Jennifer will tie in to the continuity of the core Amazing Agent Luna series, and is being penned by Luna writers Nunzio Defilippis & Christina Weir.

Amazing Agent Luna Vol. 6 is set for an October 2010 publishing date, followed by Vol. 7 in Summer 2011. Meanwhile, Amazing Agent Jennifer Vol. 1 is scheduled for a Summer 2011 release, followed by Amazing Agent Jennifer Vol. 2 in late 2011.
