[geist] Breaks the Visual Kei Barrier with Exclusive New Single

Jun 18th 2010
Yokohama, Japan - June 19th, 2010 - Always looking forward, HearJapan is excited to announce the new addition of American visual kei stars [geist], the East Coast's premier visual kei metal band.

Kicking things off in 2007, [geist] has brought their unique combination of hardcore metal and elegant drama to stages all along the East Coast. Along the way they've played shows with some of the biggest names in the Japanese scene, from Kanon Wakeshima to Zazen Boys and rocked their way into the biggest anime cons around.

[geist] is the first foreign artist to be distributed by HearJapan. HearJapan President Nathan Reavan raves about the band, saying, "I was blown away the very first time I heard [geist]. I knew HearJapan had to get behind them even if it meant breaking our long established rule of only selling Japan-based artists." HearJapan is eager to support visual kei no matter where it's from.

The exclusive release of "Itsuwari no Reigi" coincides with [geist]'s performance at Omnicon which takes place June 18-20 in southeast Texas. [geist]'s performance will take place the evening of Saturday, June 19. The new single can be purchased hours before the band takes the stage. You can find the band's first full-length album "Grotesque" on HearJapan as well.
