Crunchyroll to Start Release Moribito Catalog Today

San Francisco, Calif. (August 3, 2010) ­ Crunchyroll (http://www.crunchyroll.com)- in conjunction with Media Blasters and Anime Works ­ is scheduled to release the back catalog episodes of Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit on its site today. The first four (4) episodes of Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Production I.G, will be available to Premium Anime and All-Access members, while only the first episode will be available to free users. Based off the Japanese fantasy novel series, written by Nahoko Uehashi, Moribito - Guardian of the Spiritt was adapted into an epic 26-episode series that was extremely well received by a worldwide audience and gained even more acclaim after being featured on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.

Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit follows the journey of Balsa, a spear-wielding, wandering woman warrior, who takes on the task of saving lives in atonement for her past sins. On her journey, she happens to save a prince, and is tasked with becoming his bodyguard, as his own father ­ the emperor ­ has ordered his assassination. The two go on a perilous journey together to ensure the survival of the prince.
