EuroCosplay Announcement

Nov 18th 2010
October 2010 saw the first ever EuroCosplay (European Cosplay Championships) take place in London, England.

30 of Europe's best cosplayers from a staggering 18 countries took part, displaying not only a fantastic selection of costumes but demonstrating their skills on stage too. The event was live streamed around the world and reached a total audience of over 50,000!

The contestants themselves enjoyed a packed weekend with parties, full access to the MCM Expo and of course the EuroCosplay Championship itself. They proved without a shadow of doubt how cosplay can span international borders and bring people together, and we hope they all went away with a lot more friends.

It's our pleasure to announce that Europe's first cosplay champion is Leandro from Portugal. Leandro qualified at Fibda and won in a fantastic Cain Nightroad costume from Trinity Blood. Second place went to Kairi from Polands Chapter 1:love convention and a very hotly contested third place was awarded to Britain's own Fatkraken who qualified at Amecon.

EuroCosplay is an annual event and qualifiers for 2011 have already started with events in Italy, Ireland and Spain. One of the aims of the event is to promote and inspire cosplayers from all over Europe, an aim that we can only achieve with your help! We can accept up to two entries from each European country (each from a different event) – if your country is not yet represented then get in touch by emailing [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you!
