Cosplay Artist Yaya Han Coming to Eirtakon
Another first as acclaimed professional cosplayer Yaya Han is confirmed as a special guest for Eirtakon 2011
DUBLIN, IRELAND – June 29th, 2011 – Following on from announcing Liam O'Brien for Eirtakon 2011, the Eirtakon committee is proud to announce another first for anime in Ireland with professional cosplayer Yaya Han confirmed as our second guest!
Yaya Han is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with over 12 years of experience. After discovering cosplay at her first con a decade ago, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made a myriad of costumes in the genres of anime/manga, video games, sci-fi and of course from her own original designs.
Her intricate and lavish creations have won awards and acclaim nationwide, and Yaya has been featured in countless publications worldwide. She has taught a multitude of panels on costume craftsmanship, presentation, sociology, makeup, cosplay culture and more; and judged countless costume contests and performed in front of many peers and fans alike on stage.
Yaya will be giving a few panels and talks at Eirtakon 2011, as well as judging the cosplay competition and selling her unique cosplay accessories in our traders hall. For more info, visit www.yayahan.com
“Yaya is an amazingly talented artist and designer,” said Seán Hand, Eirtakon 2011's Convention Director. “To have a professional cosplayer coming over from America is such an honour. We can't wait to impress Yaya with the cosplayers at Eirtakon 2011 and we're really excited to have her judging the cosplay competition. We're sure Yaya will be a huge hit with everyone at Eirtakon!”
Work is well underway in making sure this year's event will be bigger than ever before and more enjoyable than ever. With the summer months rolling in, the committee is looking forward to announcing more guests, traders, artists, panels & workshops and tournaments over the coming weeks, in addition to plenty of special events that you just won't find anywhere else.
