VIZ MEDIA EUROPE is pleased to announce the acquisition of the TV, Home video and Digital rights to Children Who Chase Lost Voices for Europe and Turkey!.

KAZÉ is pleased to announce the release of the DVD and Blu-Ray in July 2012 in France, the UK Netherlands, Italy and Germany.

Makoto Shinkai is a self-taught artist with a knack for conveying his ideas and emotion through his animation. Having taken on the roles of animator, editor, director and colorist, this multi-talented filmmaker is always willing to go the extra mile to make his works successful. His works have been recognized by critics and festivals around the world as a pleasure to watch every time.

Following Voices of a Distant Star and his most recent feature work 5cm per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices will be screened at a number of European film festivals this year (Future Film Festival Bologna, Lille Festival of Animation, Fantasy Film Festival of Brussel, Muvizu Presents :Glasgow Youth Film Festival) before its DVD and Blu-Ray release in July 2012.

Synopsis

While listening to an old radio that her father left her, Asuna hears a mysterious song playing. Asuna finds herself unable to forget the song, feeling that it sounded like someone's very soul.
On her way to her usual hideout in the hills, she is attached by a strange animal and saved by Shun, a young man that appeared out of nowhere. He claims to come from a far away land called Agartha and has come to the surface to see something and because there is someone he would like to meet.
However as suddenly as he appeared, Shun disappears…
