MacrossWorld Convention 2013 Announces Mari Iijima Concert

Los Angeles, CA (October 2nd, 2013) – MacrossWorld Convention 2013 announces a live performance by singer-songwriter Mari Iijima, known to fans throughout the world for her role as Lynn Minmay in the original Macross TV series and motion picture.

Ms. Iijima will be appearing from 3:30 – 4:30 PM at the Ken Miller Auditorium, Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, October 5th, for a special concert and autograph session.

Her ground-breaking role as aspiring idol Lynn Minmay opened the door for the convergence of anime and J-Pop in Japan. Ms. Iijima is a prolific singer-songwriter, with over 20 studio albums and collaborations with artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto. She was nominated in 2000 for the Los Angeles Music Awards' Best Pop Artist for her album No Limit.

MacrossWorld Convention 2013 offers a variety of activities including the “Macross Idol” competition, a Bandai 1/55 VF-1 “Transformation Contest”, live art drawing competition, art gallery show, a “Nyan Nyan” Cafe, and a panel and autograph session with Hidetaka Tenjin, known for his stunning box art for Macross and other models, and for his work on the publications Macross Chronicle and Space Battleship Yamato Fact File.
