"... deals with relationship truths that are free of gender that most other series never get the chance to touch. Good stuff and definitely looking forward to the second half." – Mania
Based on Shungiku Nakamura's best-selling boys' love (yaoi) manga, the Junjō Romantica anime consists of two seasons (a total of 24 episodes) and features direction by Chiaki Kon (When They Cry - Higurashi) and animation by Studio DEEN (Gravitation).
The romantic comedy stars a cast of veteran voice actors, including Takahiro Sakurai (“Suzaku” in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), Hikaru Hanada (“Raul” in Ergo Proxy), Kentarou Itou (“Renji” in Bleach), Nobutoshi Canna (“Tasuki” in Fushigi Yugi), Kazuhiko Inoue (“Eiri Yuki” in Gravitation), and Daisuke Kishio (“Kaname Kuran” in Vampire Knight).
Spanning more than 12 collected volumes, Nakamura's original comic has been serialized in Japan's Asuka Ciel magazine since 2002.
