PONOS Announces Global Expansion of the English Edition of Hit Japanese Mobile Game The Battle Cats

PONOS Corp. announces the global expansion of the English edition of hit Japanese mobile game “The Battle Cats,” soon to be available for iOS and Android in nearly every region of the world.

Kyoto, 6 November 2014: It's been a good week for rising Japanese game developer PONOS. The company's user appreciation campaign in commemoration of the 1,000,000th English-language download of their flagship title “The Battle Cats” concluded on October 31st, with every users gaining 30 free premium Cat Food tokens each day for one week. These generous daily in-game rewards, in addition to overwhelmingly positive word-of-mouth on the Google Play and iOS App Stores, have helped PONOS garner even more player interest in The Battle Cats as new users continue to flock to the game, with 20,000 new installations daily. For more experienced users, The Battle Cats offers greater challenges in the form of regular limited events, which award special “uber-rare” characters such as the unearthly Nekoluga and the powerful but put-upon Salaryman Cat.

On top of this, the company's Facebook and Twitter campaigns have resulted in a flood of new users to the page as PONOS' “Likes” doubled to over 54,000 and Twitter followers to 14,000 over the course of a few days. The company plans on taking full advantage of this new interest to reach out to a broader audience about upcoming characters, event challenges, future product releases, and collaborations with other mobile services, engaging with their users to greater degrees than ever before.

However, perhaps the most exciting event in store for PONOS is the large-scale upcoming expansion of The Battle Cats into worldwide markets where the furry feline menaces have yet to set paw. As of November 6th, The Battle Cats will soon be found on devices throughout Europe, South Asia, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere, marking the evolution of these mewsters of chaos into a truly global force.

Yorikatsu Tsujiko, CEO of PONOS, states: “PONOS will continue to create fantastic games such as The Battle Cats and contribute to the mobile game market. By making The Battle Cats available in these new areas of the world, we will be able to share the enjoyment of our games with a much greater customer base that can help drive our future projects.”

While there are a few regions of the Earth that must still wait for PONOS' Cats to make their presence felt, the company is optimistic that the game will be eagerly welcomed by those who have been waiting for their chance at taking on the exciting challenges that The Battle Cats has offered players in Japan, Korea, and the English speaking world of North America, Europe and Oceania. In welcoming these new user bases, PONOS aims to provide them with the same level of addictive challenge that has kept loyal players the world over coming back for more of this bizarrely adorable world as it unfolds up until now.
