Ohayocon 2015 Guest Press Release

Columbus, Ohio (January 8, 2015) - Ohayocon is proud to present our honored guest list for 2015!

Chris Ayres – Voice Actor and Roastee for Ohayocon 2015
Christopher Ayres has been working professionally in theatre, television and film since the age of 6. His work has been seen regionally, nationally and on Broadway. He currently works as an A.D.R. director at Sentai Film Works and as a voice actor has worked for Sentai Film Works, ADV films, Amusement Park Media (now Seraphim Digital), New Generation Pictures, Okratron 5000 and FUNimation Entertainment.

Greg Ayres – Voice Actor
Greg Ayres has spent the last several years working in an industry he had admired for many more as a fan. With over 200 credits to his name, this fan-boy has managed to play a variety of characters that are almost as colorful as his hair. He was thrilled to be a part of the Toonami return, voicing the roles of Ganta Igarashi in Deadman Wonderland, and Heihachi Hayashida in Samurai 7. He was also thrilled to reprise his role of Son Goku in the Saiyuki Gaiden OVA, and also voiced the roles of Makoto Kobayashi in the award-winning animated film Colorful, and Kouichi Sakakibara in the chilling title, Another. "Greg is more than a little excited to "splash" into 2015 as Nagisa in Funimation's dub of Free! Eternal Summer!

Rob Mungle – Voice Actor
Voice actor for ADV Films, Seraphim Digital, FUNImation Entertainment and OkraTron 5000. Rob has been working in Anime since ADV Films released their first dubbed series. His resume is too immense to publish but being part of 200 series is pretty impressive. Like many voice actors Rob started his career as a stand-up comedian, having been known as The Reverend.

Brad Swaile – Voice Actor
Vancouver-born and raised, Brads first voice acting gig took the form of a pony named "Ace" in My Little Pony Tales and soon afterwards, he landed his first anime role as "Mousse" in Ranma 1/2. Some of his more notable anime characters include: Light (Death Note), Amuro, Quatre, Dearka, Auel and Setsuna (on their respective Gundam series' - from Mobile Suit to 00 ), Gohan (Dragon Ball Z), Rock (Black Lagoon), Ryuki (The Story of Saiunkoku), Kicker (Transformers: Energon) and Lan (Megaman: NT Warrior).

Dino Andrade – Voice Actor
Voice actor Dino Andrade is probably best known to video game fans worldwide as THE SCARECROW from the Game of The Year Award-Winning Blockbuster BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM. Dino is also known as the voice behind PROFESSOR PUTRICIDE, MIMIRON, HIGH TINKERER MEKKATORQUE, THE DEATH KNIGHT GNOMES and more from WORLD OF WARCRAFT!

Jessica Calvello – Voice Actor
Jessica started dubbing in 1995 with ADVfilms, with her first project being 3 HUGE LINES in Evangelion. Some more of her earlier work includes Excel Excel (Excel Saga, V1-3), Fam (Ruin Explorers), Mink (Dragonhalf). More recent roles include Hange Zoe (Attack On Titan), Kanako (Maria Holic), Saori (Girls und Panzer), Eclair (Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess), Ekitoku Chouhi (Ikki Tousen), and Rip Van Winkle in Team Four Star's Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. Fun trivia, as The Lovely Warrior, Honey Kisaragi (New Cutey Honey), she was personally cast by Go Nagai for the English dub.

Josh Grelle – Voice Actor
A native Texan and avid anime fan, Josh Grelle has been working in voice work for over 10 years. After starting with ADV Films in January 2004, Josh was quickly bombarded with tons of in-booth experience on a wide range of shows, including Wedding Peach, Steam Detectives, 009-1, and the legendary Gatchaman. He began working for FUNimation Entertainment in 2006. Since then, he has starred in numerous titles; his most famous being Armin in Attack on Titan and Kenichi in Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.

Jerry Jewell – Voice Actor
With almost 100 credits to his name, Jerry Jewell can be heard in a wide variety of shows. He's probably best known for his roles as Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket, Jimmy Kudo in Case Closed, Barry the Chopper/Number 66 in Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Claire Stanfield in Baccano!, Russia in Hetalia: Axis Powers and most recently as Natsuno Yuki in Shiki.

Gregory Houser – Voice Actor
Greg has been performing behind the mic for over 13 years providing vocal talent for companies such as AstraZenica, DuPont, Lockheed Martin, CBS, Honda of America, and the NBA, among others. In the anime world, he's provided voices for titles such as Evangelion, Ikki Tousen, One Piece, Shiki, and Tales of Vesperia.

Michele Knotz – Voice Actor
You may have heard of Michele Knotz from a little well-known anime series called Pokémon. Now in their 17th season, Michele returned as the voice of Team Rocket's Jessie. Before season 14, Michele voiced May, Nurse Joy, The Pokédex, and many Pokémon. She also voiced Misty for the Pokémon 10th Anniversary Special, The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon. In the Pokémon Special, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate she voiced Chikorita.

Bettina Kurkoski – Writer/Artist/Web-Designer
Freelance illustrator through her business, Dreamworld Studio. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, she entered TOKYOPOP's Rising Stars of Manga competition in 2003, placing as a runner-up, her work Axis Lumen published in the winners' compilation. My Cat Loki, two volumes available from TOKYOPOP, is Bettina's first professionally published series. She is currently working on the webcomic, RomeoXJulien with co-creator, Mary Dumas, and has developed and launched websites for Worldcon, Ohayocon, Just Yaoi & Dreamworld Studio.

Shin Kurokawa – Industry Professional
During the 1980's, popularity of Anime in the U.S. was fueled by such works as Star Blazers, Robotech and Akira. In 1989, Shin became a co-founding member of an anime studio, AnimEigo, which released such classics as Bubblegum Crisis, AD Police, Oh! My Goddess, Kimagure Orange Road, Vampire Princess Miyu, You're Under Arrest!, Lupin III, Urusei Yatsura, and Macross.

Cynthia Martinez – Voice Actor
Cynthia was first introduced to anime when ADV cast her in her first acting/voice acting role ever as the dragon slayer sorceress Lina Inverse in Slayers. Since then she has voiced a variety of roles such as Sora in Kaleido Star, Hermes in Kino's Journey, Poemy in Puni Puni Poemy, Hiroko in RahXephon, Mikako in Voices of a Distant Star, Yuna in Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, Hikaru in Princess Nine, Hikaru Amano in Nadesico, Harue in Super Gals, Mint in BASTof Syndrome, Meek in Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat, Pike in Princess Tutu, and Kaho in Sister Princess.

David Matranga – Voice Actor
Voice artist for over 12 years with more than 100 prominent roles including Bertholt in Attack On Titan, Appleseed Alpha, Harlock, Starship Troopers: Invasion, Halo Legends, Appleseed, Appleseed Ex Machina, Appleseed The Series, Maid Sama, Watamote, Saiyuki, Orphen, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Clannad, Gilgamesh, Colorful, 5 Centimeters Per Second, High School Of The Dead, and Super Milk Chan to name a few. He also works consistently in the commercial voiceover world.



Helen McCarthy – Writer
Helen McCarthy researched and curated the first ever anime programme at a British convention at Eastcon 90. Founded and edited the first regular anime newsletter in Britain, ANIME UK, from 1990; it morphed into the first British professional anime magazine in 1991. Attended Sheffield event Animeday 1991-4, chaired the 1994 convention AUKCon at the Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London. Wrote the first book in English dedicated to Japanese animation in 1993, co-authored the first book on an anime genre in 1998, and wrote the first book on a single anime director in 1990. Co-authored ‘the Haillwell of anime’, THE ANIME ENCYCLOPEDIA, in 2001.

Carli Mosier – Voice Actor
In 2004, Carli began working at ADV, appearing in such shows as Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, as Tsubasa Maijima, and Godannar as Kei. Carli has also been cast in the ADV titles: UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie as Princess Pharm; Moeyo Ken TV as Sayoko Yamazaki, and as Febronia and various voices in Xenosaga: The Animation. Carli is probably best known for her performance as the sexy Detective Yukika in Nerima Daikon Brothers. You can also see her as the proper, and quite often chaotic, Student Council President Yuri Kurosu in Magikano. You'll be able to see Carli as Rina, the Green Pearl Princess, in Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch, recorded at Amusement Park media.

Xero Reynolds – Writer/Illustrator/Voice Actor
Author, illustrator, musician, and voice-over artist who has been creating various entertainment works for over a decade. His literary offerings include the steampunk-fantasy world of The Archetype Trilogy, including the first novel “The Rhyme of the Golden Aegis” and the spin off Tales of Calopa short story/novella series, with “The Fahlworth Papers” and “Tuning The Orchestra” available now. Book 2 of the Archetype trilogy will be released later this year. Xero's music (under Xerjester, Xerj, and Xero Reynolds) has been used for independent films, online games and cartoons, and more. As a voice-over artist, Xero can be heard on many ADV films, (Gantz, Macross, Xenosaga to name a few) as well as various online videos and promos.

Bill Rogers – Voice Actor
Since his debut in Assemble Insert back in 2001, Bill has been providing voices to some of your favorite characters in some of your favorite shows. If you've watched Ikki Tousen, The Third, Shingu, KO Beast, His and Her Circumstances, Magical Witch Punie-Chan, Joe vs. Joe, Madara, To Heart, Kujibiki Unbalance, Queen's Blade, Gokudo, or Comic Party you've probably heard his voice. But he is best known for his work in Gravitation (Touma Seguchi), Boogiepop Phantom (Yamamoto), and Genshiken (Tanaka Souichiro). He can also be heard on Saturday mornings as the voice of Brock in Pokémon, (as well as over 40 creatures that appear in the show).

Studio Capsule – Robert and Emily Dejesus
Robert DeJesus is a Writer, Story Creator, Illustrator, Story Board Artist, and Character Designer. Robert is no stranger to the anime and manga community. An Indiana born, self-taught artist, who got his first art career break when he sent an eight page short story to comic publisher, Antarctic Press in February of 1990. He has drawn manga-inspired art for well over 20 years and has been published nearly all over the world. He has worked for many companies like Playstation Magazine, Marvel, Hasbro, and now his most recent work with Wayforward, just to name a few.

Emily DeJesus is a Writer, Editor, Story Creator and Manager. Emily has always enjoyed manga and anime, but never thought it could be her job. Emily has worked with Robert for over 12 years now. She helps write the webcomic “How to Loathe Drawing in the Manga Style” and has just finished writing her second children's book. She enjoys the business side of working for Studio Capsule very much and is grateful that she has an opportunity to work in the manga/comics business.

Greg Wicker (Greggo) – Panelist/Game Host
Greg Wicker, has been producing and hosting game shows at anime conventions since 1999, when he premiered Anime Match Game at Project A-Kon in Dallas. Since then, Greggo has done anime-themed versions of several classic game shows, created a few games of his own, and even had an original project that very nearly turned into an actual television show on Anime Network. Ohayocon 2015 will be held January 30 - February 1 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and The Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, Ohio.
