Genericon XXVIII Welcomes Tristan MacAvery and Returning Guests Uncle Yo and Antipode

Genericon XXVIII welcomes Tristan MacAvery and returning guests Uncle Yo and Antipode.

TROY, NY (February 20 , 2015) – The staff of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's annual student-run anime, sci-fi, and gaming convention, Genericon, are pleased to welcome voice actor, Tristan MacAvery and returning guests Uncle Yo and Antipode to this year's con.

Tristan MacAvery was a voice actor for ADV Films some years ago, his most famous role being that of Ikari Gendo in Neon Genesis Evangelion, the original release and the two OVAs from U.S. Manga Corps. He has provided voices for more than 50 characters in various anime releases, and wrote a score of scripts and directed many of them.

From Otakon to Anime Expo, Karl “Uncle Yo” Custer teleports to anime, comic book and video game conventions performing his unique brand of geek-specific stand-up comedy. Panel leader, Cosplay Masquerade MC, playwright and dedicated podcaster, Yo goes where he is needed to celebrate fandoms, welcome newcomers, and promote equality.

Our returning guest Antipode is a geek belly dancing troupe hailing from State College, PA. Fusing the theatrics of acting with a mix of cosplay, pop-culture, and off-beat humor Antipode brings the audience full geek entertainment.
