Comcept, Inc. Releases First Look Gameplay Demo for The World of Red Ash

comcept, Inc. Releases First Look Gameplay Demo
for the world of RED ASH

Tokyo, Japan – July 28, 2015 -- comcept, Inc. is proud to unveil the first look at the exploration gameplay of RED ASH: The Indelible Legend, which is Keiji Inafune's newest project currently on Kickstarter.

RED ASH: The Indelible Legend is a third person shooter-style action adventure game. But in addition to all the high-paced battles, you can explore the world of Red ASH and converse with the townsfolk. That is a large part of the game-play experience and is showcased in the gameplay mock-up. One of the major themes for the game is "exploring an anime world," and thus players have the freedom to do whatever they want -- including kicking cans rolling in the middle of the street.

The demo is a work in progress, so the playable character is Beck and uses the Mighty No.9 characters as NPCs. Stretch your exploration skills to uncover secrets scattered around the map, such as the "Red ASH version of Beck"! Find him and pass the torch from the Mighty No.9 version to the Red ASH version of him!

ABOUT RED ASH

Keiji Inafune's desire is to create a game that pays homage to Japanese animation, but also his vision of "immersing players in a freely explorable anime world." The RED ASH team is spearheaded by Art Director Kazushi Ito and Director Masahiro Yasuma, key members of the original team that pioneered open world game design with Mega Man Legends. With the RED ASH project, they aim to build an action adventure experience with a new level of freedom, complete with the polish expected from such veteran creators.

ABOUT THE KICKSTARTER

The Kickstarter is funding Red ASH: The KalKanon Incident. This is expected to be an 8-hour game (which can increase with size as stretch goals are met), about an ancient giant robot city on a collision course with a populated town. The story is about Beck and his companions dealing with the threat in a way that only they can.

While this is a self-contained story from beginning to end, it's also an introduction to the Red ASH world that we have envisioned. The KalKanon Incident will be used to pitch a larger game to potential publishers. Having this 8-hour game made and demonstrating that there's a market for it will help enormously in negotiations, which would normally be difficult for a large game. comcept's mission is to retain IP rights to RED ASH, which is why they've turned to fans for their help!

■ Story
Danger looms over hundreds of thousands who make the city of Great Slope their home. The Mobile Citadel "KalKanon" is currently on a crash course with this city. At this rate, a major disaster is all but unavoidable.

Gecko Company, one of the organizations central to Great Slope, has prepared a massive electromagnetic cannon christened "the Peace Maker" to combat this catastrophe. They announced their plan to destroy the massive Fortress-City before it reaches the settlement. Great Slope quickly switches from a city enveloped in panic, to one ready to sit back and enjoy the fireworks of the special, once-in-a-lifetime Burning Cannon Festival. However, not everyone welcomes this announcement; particularly the young owner of the Bones Company, Call C. Bones. All Delvers have heard the famous folktale... that inside the belly of KalKanon rests the Legendary Legacy...

"I think we should grab the treasure for ourselves, before those rich blowhards blow the whole dang place sky-high!"

"We have about 14 hours left until KalKanon is within firing range of the Peace Maker."

"Hop on over there, grab anything you can get your grubby little hands on, and hurry on back! Simple, huh?"

"This is an official offer from the Bones Company. You got 3 minutes before we head out!"

Of course, she sends the request for this crazy job to her favorite stooges: partners Beck and Tyger.
