The East Bay's Cartoon, Anime, Comics & Cosplay Convention Lands On Board The USS Hornet in Alameda, CA

Guests of Honor in attendance at this fifth event include Christy Carlson Romano, an actress and singer best known for her roles as Ren Stevens in the Disney Channel sitcom Even Stevens and the voice of Disney's Kim Possible; Zach Callison, a child actor credited for the voice of Steven from Cartoon Network's Steven Universe; Sarah Anne Williams, a voice actress known for anime roles including Sayaka Miki from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Nonon from Kill la Kill; and Tiffany Grant, a long time actress and voice actor with over 1500 credits to her name including Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Uniquely the convention will take place entirely on board the USS Hornet, marking the first time a convention of this type will occur on an aircraft carrier on the west coast. The USS Hornet is a World War II­era Essex class aircraft carrier that served in the United State Navy from 1942 to 1970. She opened as a museum to the public in 1998. Attendees will be able to explore the entirety of the museum as part of their ticket price enjoying the exhibits and tours offered by museum staff.

Attendees will enjoy panels on a variety of subjects related to art and media with panel presenters including MegaBots, Crunchyroll, Wargaming America and Gilles Poitras; participate in activities like a convention­wide scavenger hunt and several nautical­themed games hosted by convention staff; ride a motion flight simulator; pose for photographs inside the cockpit of a jet fighter; participate in costume gatherings themed from their favorite fandoms; and shop from artists and exhibitors. There will also be a costume contest with cash prizes.

Tickets are on sale now for $36 at www.krakencon.com. Children 6 and under are free. There will be an attendance cap in place.
