ANIME WEEKEND ATLANTA - MORE LIVE MUSIC ACTS THAN EVER
The four-day fan gathering is expanding its live music offerings including the U.S. debut of a major act

Atlanta, GA – Beginning on Thursday, September 24, 2015 and continuing through Sunday, September 27th, Anime Weekend Atlanta is poised to offer convention attendees more live music acts straight from Japan than ever before. This year, Anime Weekend Atlanta is proud to present universe, Fhána, heidi., Eir Aoi, LOVERIN TAMBURIN, K-ble Jungle, Kato*Fuku, HigeDriver and Yuyoyuppe .

AWA will be universe's U.S. debut. Formed in 2002, they made their major debut on Sony Music in 2009. Their 2nd major single can be heard as the 24th ending for Bleach. In 2012, they released 3 singles and reached number 1 on the major music charts. In 2014, they held their release tour for the 3rd album. In 2015, they are aiming at the world and going to extend their music to the world.

fhána consists of three sound producers: Junichi Sato, yuxuki waga and kevin mitsunaga, and vocalist, towana, and their music has been featured in many popular anime such as “The Eccentric Family,” “Gingitsune,” “Witchcraft Works,” “Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou” and “Sora no Method.”

heidi. began performing internationally in 2011, and has grown in popularity since then. Their music has been used for the ending of TBS anime “Maid Sama!” The single “Gekko Show Time” was used for the title song for movie “Maebashi Visual Kei” and the members of heidi. themselves appeared in the movie.

Singing has been Eir Aoi's passion all her life. Her debut single was the ending theme of TV anime Fate/Zero, which was #8 on the Oricon single chart and sold close to 60,000 copies. Eir Aoi has produced hit singles that were openings of anime such as Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: Third Generation, Sword Art Online: Fairy Dance series, Kill La Kill and most recently Sword Art Online II.

LOVERIN TAMBURIN is a Japanese band that made its major debut in May 2006, releasing “Aishitageru”, the opening theme of “Makai senki-Disgaea”, a Japanese TV anime program. Their latest song, was used for Spike Chunsol's new game of PlayStation®4/Vita, Fushigi No Chronicle Furikaerimasen Katsumadewa.

K-ble Jungle are currently showcasing their live performance throughout the world embracing a myriad of styles of dancing, costumes and visual projections, but most of all great songs, ranging from the electronic to the J-Pop to J-rock to traditional Japanese music pieces. They regularly headline at major European festivals, appealing to mass audiences and conquering the media interest and feedback.

Emiri Kato and Kaori Fukuhara became friends when they both starred in the anime series ”Lucky Star”. They then co-hosted a TV program called “Ad-lib Anime Laboratory”, which gave them the chance to form a singing unit, Kato*Fuku. Kato*Fuku broadened their musicianship with their 2nd album “with” which lead to a huge success on their solo live concert at Shinagawa Stellar Ball.

HigeDriver of the most prominent chiptune artists in Japan. He is a composer of great influence within the current Idol/Anison scene. In addition to creating chiptune music, he is also the vocalist for the “Higedri VAN” band that he formed on his own.

Yuyoyuppe is one of the pioneers of utilizing VOCALOID within the rock music scene. He is currently in the process of making his major label debut as a metal musician and provides sound support to BABYMETAL and Momoiro Clover Z, while also pursuing his own major debut.

First organized in 1994, with the first convention held in 1995, AWA has been recognized as one of the most popular Japanese Animation conventions in the United States, and one of the top ten attended anime conventions in North America.

AWA offers a wide variety of fan panels, guests from all over the world, concerts, activities, video games, table top games and cosplay galleries. As well as an expansive dealer's room, incredible artist alley, fashion show and a maid café that is billed as the “cutest maid café you will ever see.” AWA offers 24 hour programming, is a fun place to meet people and make new friends, as well as a many opportunities to take pictures of amazing cosplays.
