First Digimon Celebration Comes to Pittsburgh in 2016
PITTSBURGH, PA - Digimon Celebration, presented by the Digimon World Tour, will be held on Feb. 6 2016 at Victory Pointe in Pittsburgh, PA.
For a $10 admission, Digimon fans will have full access to Victory Pointe's arcade and gaming cafe, as well as retro and modern Digimon games including Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (coming to North America Feb. 2 on the PS4.) Artists and vendors will be present, as well as a cosplay contest, fan art contest, trivia challenge, and Rumble tournaments.
As a franchise and as a fandom, Digimon was nearly extinct a few years ago. That has all changed and in recent years a love for Digimon is pouring in from the fans and the creators. With new video games, new toys, and new animation the time to celebrate is now. This event is the first of many small events, with the intention of them consistently growing so a full convention can be held in 2017, the 20th Anniversary of the release of the first Digimon virtual pet.
