SaikouCon 2016 Announces Return of Several Fan Favorite Guests

Convention also prepping for annual Valentine's Day VIP Badge BOGO

2/9/16 Lake Harmony, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention", is the large scale, annual anime convention of the Pocono Mountains. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only large scale annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania. The convention grew out of the now defunct web magazine Anime Ate My Brain Magazine; the sibling to music focused web magazine, Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine. Both journalistic endeavors fall under the publishing wing of Nerdy Rock 'n Roller Productions.

The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013, 2014, and 2015 safe havens for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2016. SaikouCon 2016 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more!

Returning to SaikouCon 2016 will be RuffleButt Cosplay (Jessie Pridemore), RuffleButt was SaikouCon's first guest in 2013 and has been returning each year since, always a hit with attendees the convention is always happy when RuffleButt says she available to appear as a Guest of Honor; without her presence SaikouCon wouldn't feel the same. Also returning for their third turn as the headliner of SaikouCon's music scene is The Adarna! The Seattle, WA based rockers recently completed their overseas Gratitude Tour performing for the US Army at bases throughout the Middle East, the band will be bringing their signature Jet City Rock sound with several new additions as they revamp and retool their set lists and structure of their live show. The Adarna will be packing their same infectiously high energy and lust for life, but presenting it an all new way at SaikouCon 2016. Also returning is Koralene Cosplay as a Featured Guest, Koralene appeared at SaikouCon 2015 as a Special Guest; she was so popular that the convention had to have her back as a Featured Guest so she could have an even larger role in the festivities. Be on the look out for more Guest announcements in the coming weeks as SaikouCon pushes the limits of previous years to bring you more first time Guests of Honor, more Featured Guests, more Musical Guests, and more Special Guests; the convention is going to fill new home Split Rock Resort like never before! Let the good times roll!

The SaikouCon Valentine's BOGO is set to return this year as well and will run from 12:01 AM February 14 until 12:01 AM February 15. As in the past, there is nothing that attendees have to do when purchasing their VIP badges during the sale, no coupon codes and no special e-shopping carts, SaikouCon's registration staff take care of everything on their side; your Registration Confirmation e-mail (received 12-48 hour following your purchase) will reflect the extra badge on your file. Due to the lateness of finding a suitable venue and resulting delay in opening registration SaikouCon was not able to offer its Cyber Monday BOGO sale, so, unfortunately the convention will only be offering the Valentine's special for 2016; make sure you take advantage of this offer while you can! SaikouCon VIP badge perks to attendees can be found at www.saikoucon.com/guest-registration.html.

SaikouCon 2016's Artist Alley and Vendor registrations are both open as well and filling fast. Spaces for both merchants will be 8 X 5, include a table, two chairs, waste basket, and Wi-Fi access. Merchant registrations opened on January 11, 2016 and will remain open until July 1, 2016 or until both the Merchant Hall and Artist Alley are both sold out; whichever comes first. Spaces are primed to sell as fast as the record sale times set for the convention in 2015, so don't wait too long if you wish to sell at SaikouCon 2016! To review SaikouCon's Rules and Regulations for merchants as well as register Artists visit www.saikoucon.com/artist-alley.html and Vendors visit www.saikoucon.com/vendors.html.

While family friendly, SaikouCon is largely PG-13 so tweens and little ones need accompaniment. Don't forget to look into SaikouCon's Group Rates. Split Rock is offering SaikouCon attendees a block of 50 rooms (to start, if we sell out before the discount deadline, the resort will open more rooms to SaikouCon attendees at the discounted rate) available until July 1, 2016 or until the block is booked solid. Once the July 1 deadline hits, rooms will only be available at Split Rock on an as available basis and will not be discounted; discount extension is at the discretion of Split Rock Resort and not SaikouCon or its organizers.

The convention will always feature some of the best live entertainment themed to Japanese culture and pop culture, as well as the best in J-Rock, J-Pop, and nerd/geek culture musical acts from all over the US and beyond.

All of this plus top creators, writers, artists, distributors, industry insiders, English dub and original Japanese voice talent, some of the best cosplay talent, shows, masquerades; and so much more!
