Kyoto Indie Publisher Launches New Science Fiction Yuri Romance Comic Series

Kyoto Indie Publisher quietly launches new science fiction yuri romance comic series

Studio Syncandi, a newly established independent publishing studio based in Kyoto Japan has released its first project - SYNCANDI, a science fiction romance adventure story told through comics, songs, videos and more!

Real Love in a Synthetic World

Sync, a fatally wounded military assassin would rather die than have the state corporation which owns her body turn her into a fully synthetic immortal killer. She steals Ikkyu, a synthetic human paramedic and flees to an abandoned experimental zone codenamed Genies Res, in order to die. The last thing on Sync's mind is love . . .

The story is told through digital comics and multimedia. The official website includes a series of story trailers with original soundtrack and voice actors, a jpop music video, And a blog which contains Ikkyu's Journal, a secret journal by the main character, Ikkyu, that gives readers insight into her emotional development. Each month a high quality print poster connected with each comic is available on order.

The SYNCANDI story is updated monthly and with most content available in Japanese and English.

CHARACTERS

Ikkyu

Ikkyu is a synthetic human. A typical product of humanity's early 23rd century artificial life project. Her face and body are modelled on a two hundred year old archival photo of a young Japanese woman. Although slender and petite she is robust enough to handle the rigours of medical field work. Her eyes can function as a high powered microscopes. Her aptitude for learning and playful demeanour add to her already charming personality. She speaks with a Japanese accent and often expresses herself using Japanese onomatopoetic phrases. She has mysteriously neutralised her factory set Safety Suppression Protocol which limits the creativity, emotions and will of synthetic humans. Even more astounding is her ability to communicate with microorganisms. Physically manifesting the data she receives as complex abstract music which only she can hear. She transmits data using her vocal chords where the information is coded into the sound waves of her voice. Technically, Ikkyu is the property of the military arm of a powerful state corporation, however her present status is ambiguous as she is currently stolen property.

Sync

Sync was born as a non-synthetic human but is now over ninety per cent synthetic. Only her heart and brain are original. For most of her adult life she has been a professional killer. Until recently she was employed by the military arm of a powerful state. She appears to be in her early twenties however she is certainly very much older. Sync is a tall fair skinned Eurasian, with short messy dark hair and piercing grey eyes. She projects a cool image. Communicates in a clear and concise manner with a touch of irony, however lately she has a tendency to be melancholic, poetic and philosophical. Technically, Sync's body is the property of the military arm of a powerful state corporation, although her current status is ambiguous as she currently a fugitive.

The Shaman

The Shaman is a mysterious character. She appears to be female. She is an early model ‘pleasure’ android brought along by the first exploration crew to Genies Res. After the project was shut down, The Shaman was left behind, alone. Over many many years, her exposure to the Genies Res environment has allowed her to become an highly evolved sentient being. She is able to communicate at will with the Genies Res microorganisms. She currently wears a modified Miko costume – ragged short red skirt, white bandages around her chest and long white sleeves attached at her elbows by red ribbons. She has a smooth pale silvery face framed by waist length super straight hair. Her eyes are an intense deep blue and full of pathos.
