Kodansha Comics May Digital-First Debuts

Kodansha Comics launches Beware the Kamiki Brothers! May 1—with 4 more digital manga series debuting every week of the month

More for May: Heaven's Design Team (May 8), The Wizard and His Fairy (May 15), Can You Just Die, My Darling? (May 22), and A Kiss, For Real (May 29)

San Francisco, Calif. (April 26, 2018)— Continuing to launch at least one new “digital-first” manga series every week—Kodansha Comics just announced it will kick off 5 new manga series in May, with a diverse offering for the month.

Kodansha Comics's digital-first manga releases are part of an exciting new initiative begun last year to put a greater diversity of manga series into the market. Starting with Yuji Onda's mean step-sibling drama Beware the Kamiki Brothers! on May 1, this month's series debuts will be available at all of Kodansha Comics's partner digital platforms:

Beware the Kamiki Brothers! (debuting May 1), Yuji Onda's romantic-comedy manga about a high-school girl who finds herself living with some scary new stepbrothers (Japanese title: Kamiki kyoudai okotowari);

Heaven's Design Team (debuting May 8), an imaginative new manga series about Heaven's Animal Design Department, where designers create a variety of new animals while contending with the unreasonable requests of their client (Japanese title: Tenchi souzou design-bu) ;

The Wizard and His Fairy (debuting May 15), Chisato Nesumi's pretty fantasy manga about an eccentric wizard and the beautiful and strong-willed fairy he takes in (Japanese title: Kirikagohime to mahoutsukai);

Can You Just Die, My Darling? (debuting May 22), the hit dark manga thriller of murder, love, and delusion by Majuro Kaname and Sousou Sakakibara (Japanese title: Konya wa tsuki ga kirei desuga, toriaezu shine) ;

A Kiss, For Real (debuting May 29), Fumie Akuta's sweet, but sadistic, high-school romance manga about a mask-wearing girl and a free-spirited boy (Japanese title: Sekirara ni Kiss) ;
