Crunchyroll Buys Redux Video Discovery Startup
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Media distributor Crunchyroll has acquired video discovery startup company Redux. The Redux team will utilize qualities from its video discovery app to help Crunchyroll users find new videos and programming that might appeal to them. The company will also help Crunchyroll "iterate on its lean-back viewing experience" and work on its various platform apps.
The Chernin Group, a company run by former News Corporation executive Peter Chernin, acquired a majority stake in the media distribution website Crunchyroll in December. The company noted it will use the website to expand into different genres.
