Seriously, if they have no intention of giving Kuuga the translation it rightfully deserves, then Titan should just drop the license entirely and give it to someone else. The fact that they're gonna release even more manga later, with one of them being Alpi The Soul Sender which is a fantastic fantasy manga, only makes me worry for the hackjob translations they'll probably get.

For the record, I am importing and reading the manga from Japan. I am indeed enjoying it, but saying that Godai was boring in the tv show kind of misses the point to me.

There is a lot of extra characterization and story in the manga, but I don't necessarily think that makes it better, since both the show and the manga are two very different mediums, and themed very differently. The show is a slower, slice-of-life J-Drama/police procedural with the manga dropping the procedural elements in favour of more horror themes.

Godai's good in the books too, but I would hardly call him boring in the show. And I dislike this particular attitude with remakes and adaptations where the people involved feel the need to 'improve' as if what came before was not great when talking about stories that were good, to begin with. It's simply a different interpretation. The attitude in the interview feels obnoxious.
