Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Earns US$2.2 Million in N. America, Adds Tuesday Screenings

Box Office Mojo reported that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods pulled in US$2,201,569 as of Thursday, August 7, after debuting in 692 theaters. It currently ranks as #12 in theatrically released anime of all time in North America, under Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, The Wind Rises, Digimon: The Movie, Spirited Away, Pokémon 3 - The Movie, The Secret World of Arrietty, Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie, Pokémon: The Movie 2000, and Pokémon: The First Movie. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods had more screenings on Saturday.
Funimation confirmed on Monday that it will add more screenings on Tuesday, August 12 at over 350 theaters. After that, "only a very small group of theaters will be showing the movie throughout the remainder of the week." Participating theaters can be found using Funimation's official website.
The September issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine announced last month that a new Dragon Ball Z movie will open during the Golden Week string of holidays next spring.
