Cardcaptor Sakura Voice Actress Junko Iwao Goes on Hiatus Due to Illness
posted on
The official website for voice actress Junko Iwao announced on Saturday that the actress will be taking a hiatus for all of February and March due to bronchitis.
The actress had tried to bear with the condition throughout January, but her condition worsened, and she has reached a state in which she cannot even speak. Many of her events will be cancelled or delayed, including the "Sakura & Tomoyo to Nama wa Nyaan! S.H.Figuarts Kinomoto Sakura Tanjōsai" (Sakura & Tomoyo Live is Meow! S.H.Figuarts Sakura Kinomoto Birthday Party) mini event that was scheduled to be held during the Wonder Festival event on Sunday.
Junko Iwao is possibly best known for her role as Tomoyo in the anime adaptation of Clamp's Card Captor Sakura shojo manga, and has also played Kikyo Zoldyck in Hunter × Hunter, Mima in Perfect Blue, Serika in To Heart, and Mint in the Tales of Phantasia original video anime (as well as in the original game).
