Silent Manga Audition® Round Six (SMA6) Award Winners Announced

The 6th round of the largest manga award in the world is celebrating the award winners! The
highest achievers will move forward to create series manga with professional editors.

Kichijoji, Tokyo, Japan 9th of December 2016 - The Japanese comic publisher Coamix Inc.
announced the award winners for SILENT MANGA AUDITION® Round Six (SMA6) on the 9th of
December 2016. The top awards went to manga creators from Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Italy,
Malaysia, Thailand, Tunisia, and Vietnam. The highest achievers won fantastic prizes including a
JPY 300,000 (USD 3,000) cash prize, an invitation to Japan, and the chance to debut as a professional
manga creator.

A select few award winners of SMA6 were also invited to join the ranks of the “SMA MASTER
CLASS” program. In the program award winners will continue to improve their skills with seasoned
and genuine professional manga editors from Tokyo and prepare for their debut as professional manga
creators.

Since 2012, the Japanese manga publishing company Coamix Inc. has been cultivating manga talent
from around the world with their SILENT MANGA AUDITION® (SMA). The bi-annual
competition saw massive popularity from the onset and quickly became the largest manga competition
in the world. The company is now preparing to nurture the most talented among the SMA entrants
into professional manga creators with their MASTER CLASS program. The Comic Zenon editorial
team of Coamix Inc. is also set on releasing manga with that talent in 2017 and hopes to continue a
partnership with them into the future.

The judges are led by the Coamix Inc. Board of Managing Directors, including the legendary manga
creators Hara Tetsuo, Tsukasa Hōjō, and Ryuji Tsugihara, as well as the former Weekly Shonen
Jump (Shueisha) Chief Editor and President of Coamix Inc., Nobuhiko Horie, and former Monthly
Shonen Jump (Shueisha) Chief Editor, Tadashi Negishi.

The next round, SILENT MANGA AUDITION® Round Seven (SMA7), is already accepting
entries until 31st of March 2017. The theme is “Unforgettable Taste.” An additional round,
SILENT MANGA AUDITION® EXTRA ROUND TWO “KUMAMOTO ROUND 2017” (SMAEX2
“KUMAMOTO ROUND 2017”) is also accepting entries until 15th of February 2017.
