Elfen12's Anime

Seen all Rating Comment
5 Centimeters Per Second (movie) Masterpiece 2 Things 1. These comments are very Outdated, while what i say is somewhat true, i'd probably redo all the comments, but of course i'll never do that, that's a whole lot of work and a whole lot of anime watching that, while i love anime, i'd rather not do. 2. The following are my interpretations of the ratings 5 years ago. :::::::: < "Very good" = wasn't too good, i didn't find it very interesting, and would probably recommend not watching it.:::::::::::: "Very good" = It was okay, not too exciting but it could work if you have a lot of time on your hand or want to get your own personal 'canon' to have a wide range:::::::::::::: "Excelent" = This was a good anime, Would recommend watching it, it had several of all the elements I personally look for in an anime, and maybe lacked on one major one, or minor one depending on the comment i left.:::::::::::::::::::: "Masterpiece" = I strongly reccomend watching this anime. It means that either all the aspects of an anime i personally look for were in this anime, or the story just overwhelmed all the other aspects of anime. One way or another, there is strong reason to watch this anime. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: *Also one more note, it's a good idea to look at other people's anime list, if I or several other people rated it a masterpiece, it probably means that it was, and that it's a good promising title to watch and not be let down or disappointed in any way. ::::::::::::::::::::::::: Cheers ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ dispair, This... was just, the most amazing movie i've seen. It, it's sadness isn't the sadness of loss or the sadness of pain. It's the sadness of forgeting, the combination of both loss and pain. It completley immersed the viewer into the anime, and allowed you to share both the feelings of both the main characters. So incredibly sad, but so great. It was also one of the best written peices of anime that i've viewed. A masterpiece is an understatement. If there is a anime movie you should wach, let it be this one.
Air (TV) Excellent Sad, but definatly worth watching. Its a rather... controversial anime, to say the least, in my opinion , i liked it, but then i can see why what with the moe-ish character and some other things that the masses may not like, that some poeple just may not like this anime....
Akame ga KILL! (TV)
And you thought there is never a girl online? (TV)
Aquarian Age - Sign for Evolution (TV) Masterpiece Great, okay i don't understand the big fuss about this show, i thoguth ti was soo good... the character development was amaaaaaazing, the character went through several major phases... and the story itself was soo magnificent and the ending was great as well... really spectacular. The only flaw which is small becuase ifyou just give it a chance after 3 episodes, it's so good. Everything makes sense at the end too, it' sjust... well it's defnatly worth seeing. Also the romance element was really great too.
Aquarion (TV) Masterpiece Epic, it was good, but another good word for this show is Copycat. Although it was unique in its own way, it had some elements that have been overused in previous animes. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, but to some people it could be a reason why you may not like it.
Argento Soma (TV) Excellent Mecha-stic, it was defiantly a mecha oriented show, but it was good, it was played out well, and it gave you most the answers the watcher wanted... but it just lacked a certian element that i find to be rather important in anime, it just didn't have an appeal, like i ususaly watch an anime rather fast, but i mean i got to episode 20 and i just stopped for a while, becuase it wasn't so interesting...
Azumanga Daioh (TV) Excellent Slice, it was just a slice of life anime that everyone seems to enjoy, so yeah... it was good, not as good as i thought it was going to be due to my high expectations and all, but i got some enjoyment out of it, and that's all that matters... i give it execellent because it was well put together and well made.
Basilisk (TV) Very good
Best Student Council (TV) Excellent It was pretty... cute, yeah i said it. Cute. I like how it was a comedy and jus tlike a cute thing (despite all the damn loli or whatever that stuff's called), but it also had a more deep story, that was verrrry subtle behind it, that really made me want to konw what was going on. It's good, go for it.
Black Cat (TV) Masterpiece Action, it was also worth watching, it was suprizing to me how good it was. I don't know it was a little cliche, what with the type of action and the ending, but what i liked about it was how it developed into two different plots at the end, it seemed like nearing the end of it, that it was about to end, but then a whole new problem for the characters came up, and they delt with it, making an ending worth watching the 24 episode series for.
Black Lagoon (TV) Excellent Action, it had a good plot, in some ways it was like the Earth version of Outlaw star, what with the freedom of the main group of characters, and how they are "Outlaws" ... differnet in its own way, its different enough for it to be unique in its own way, and not like a copycat of Outlaw Star... Its worth seeing
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (TV) Excellent Better then the first "Barrage" but still, dittos to what i said about Black Lagoon (TV)
Blue Exorcist (TV)
Blue Gender (TV) Masterpiece Epic, i personaly liked this a lot mroe then some other people... but hey, i interpert it differnetly, and thats okay, opinions shoudl alwyas be respected, but feel free to agree or disagre with them... (Off Topic)
Boogiepop Phantom (TV) Masterpiece Unique, It was for sure differnet then all other animes in its plot, however something that really bothered me was its simulairty in the set up with Serial Expierments Lain (sp), the way that they say the episode number and just the set up, was in the exact same voice, and the way that the show sort of mianderd throguhout the whole thing, leaving you confused in that same sort of confusion as Lain did, also slighlty bothered me... otherwise the story was one that will have you at the edge of your seat, and maybe even falling off...
Boys Be... (TV) Excellent Love, This show although seems like it's all about girls... is really all about love, it's pretty interesting. I'd defiantly recomend this to someone looking for a romance Comedic show, I like it's use of metaphors in the beginning of each episode, and then shows how it all plays out in the real world... with love... it's pretty amazing, it's worth seeing.
CANAAN (TV) Very good So this anime was the 3rd I've watched recently since I've begun watching anime again and the 2nd new show I've seen (the first was samurai champloo but i digress) and i have to say i have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I think it started off really strong, i think the animation was well done, the VAs were good and overall it was a solid anime. However, there are some things about it that weren't made clear. In the last 2 episodes, there was a bit of confusion and sometimes, the anime just had a life of it's own different from that of reality... ok that made no sense, but what i mean is it sorta went off on it's own while leaving the viewer in confusion several times. The ending was honestly sorta lame, in the way they did it, but i mean the ending itself was not a problem. I'd definitely watch it, it kinda has the feeling Noir has to it, that is what i'd compare it to the most, young mysterious girls who are insane at combat and guns, a shrouding mystery behind them that seems to bring in such themes as politics while maintaining a somewhat slice of life feel. Not bad Masahiro Ando.
A Certain Magical Index (TV) Very good So, this is the first anime i've seen for a very long time. It was good, i'll get right into it. It starts off really strong, it sucked me right in. I think i enjoyed the first half of the show better than the second. The first half introduced many different characters which was exciting, the comedic aspect mixed with the serious tone was done well. However, what i don't like about the anime is how it fails to get into the bigger picture. There are all these aspects that could be expanded on that i assumed the plot would get into (like the second half would become a plot about the bigger picture of things introduced earlier on) but that never happened. Potentially the next one , A Certain Magical Index II, may get into that, I hope. All this being said this anime was still good, i really liked the comedic aspect, i'd say everything is good about it except for where the story decides to take itself. The characters maintain their awesomeness throughout the whole thing, and had the story been taken to the right place, i would have given it a masterpiece. The only reason i did not give it an excelent, is that the way the story went out really did take away from the anime. I feel as though the creators started out very strong and then sort of got a lazy with the story, it never really took off towards the end like many series do where everything comes together in one big plot. Despite this, definitely worth watching and i will be watching the second one soon.
A Certain Magical Index II (TV) Very good You know what... Like, I really like this anime, I like the characters for the most part, the story is fluid, the comedy is good. Something about it is like very easy to watch and just flows together, there is a certain completeness to everything about this anime EXCEPT for one MAJOR thing. This anime, has no ending. Like literally, no ending at all. They make it seem like all this stuff is about to happen and then ... I don't know. It's not even like it tries to end it, it literally doesn't even try to end it. They do all the signs of ending a show, except for the entire arc of ending it. I don't know what they were trying to do. I mean, as far as the show goes it's great, but that was the most bizarre way to do the ending, it doesn't even leave you wondering what happens. How strange. I give it a very good, because everything else about the anime entertains me.
Chrome Shelled Regios (TV)
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV)
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (TV)
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Masterpiece There's so much to this show, i'm not going to expand on it, you should just watch it. I like the characters and i enjoyed taking an adventure through their pasts and what not, and i liked the action as well. On top of that, i enjoyed the episodicness of it, that was something that i'd been looking in a show for quite a while, and this sufficed perfeclty, so i enjoyed it lots. You oughta watch it if you havn't yet.
Coyote Ragtime Show (TV) Good It was pretty good, i was kind of let down though to be honest. I was expecting it to be a bit less corny and a bit more... well, interesting. It sort of was easy to predict and it was a bit cliche. I would have much more enjoyed it if it would have gone into the corruptness of the government (federation) and less corny antics like "ALRIGHT" and "LETS DO IT" or "YEAAH" (when they all say it at the same time and have that smile on their face when the view of them (camera veiw if it was real) is diagonal and their head is turned all the way around and they're grinning with one side of their smile up like their some sort of hotshot). Yeah that type of thing. But the story was pretty good, it's defintiely worth seeing, just be in store for some clicheness which is officially a word.
Cromartie High School (TV) Good It was pretty interesting... it was kind of funny, it had a few comedic elements, but i think ... who was it, i kind of forgot, but someone on the forum said "it's not as funny as it thinks it is" and that's the best way to describe it. It tries to be funny but it's not, but occasionally i'll burst out into laughter, it's just really random. But the style is weirdly done, it sort of feels like i'm watching a manga or something... if you're in for somethin' weird that doesn't make sense, is sorta episodic and has some funny things every now and then, then you've hit gold.
D-Frag! (TV) Excellent okay this show was pretty good, it had me laughing the whole way through, the characters were instantly loveable, and I'm not the kind of person to normally watch this kind of show, I'm just trying to watch funny shows. Definitely recocormend it for anyone into slice of life, school anime, comedy and pretty much any other light hearted genre style.
D.N.Angel (TV) Masterpiece Magnificent, Although this was one of the first animes i've seen, it was still good to this day, i've seen it twice, and the second time i didn't like it as much becuase i had seen so many others and i could really....... analyze it and look in depth into it, whereas before i coudln't. What i noticed is that it plays out nicely, nicer then some others, but the plot is rather cliche, in it that it would be more for children... of course this isn't a bad thing, i mean look at the rating i gave it, its just an observation from watching it more then once... (I watch all my animes more than once...)
Deadman Wonderland (TV)
Death Note (TV) Masterpiece Great, it was amazing, it was a pretty deep show, on the outside it may appear just to be some run of the mill show with a weird idea to it, but the idea itself is very deep and it can make one think for a long time, what you could do if you could kill someone just by writing their name in a notebook. Nevertheless, the events the show had made for a fantastic show and a great story as well as some of my favorite characters of all time. I reccomend it.
Death Note Relight - Visions of a God (special) Good
Desert Punk (TV) Excellent All in one, it just had a lotta funny parts about it. I really really really enjoyed the last 10 episodes of the show a lot. In retrospect, looking at the whole thing, it was shaped really well. The story was crafted very intelligently and the elements of a story were included as well... but with a twist, as seen with the ending of the show. I really enjoyed the comedic aspect as well, they tied in some fan service as well as just some funny expresssions and what not. Go watch it, it was worth it.
Dragon Ball GT (TV) Good I liked it more than others did, but id ont' want to get into it. SSJ 4 though... eh.
Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy (special) Not really good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z (TV) Excellent DBZ is great.... I'll elaborate on this and the other movies when i find some time.
Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku (special) Very good
Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly (movie 11) Not really good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound (movie 9) Excellent DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming (movie 10) Good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan (movie 8) Not really good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge (movie 5) Good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone (movie 1) So-so DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn (movie 12) Excellent DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug (movie 4) Decent DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! (movie 7) Very good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks (special) Excellent
Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler (movie 6) Good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might (movie 3) Very good DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest (movie 2) Decent DBZ is great
Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon (movie 13) Good DBZ is great
Durarara!! (TV) Very good So I really liked this series because it really portrayed day to day life in Ikebukuro. It was sort of a slice of life/drama/action. I really liked how the characters fit into the city very well, the whole urban vibe of the show was unlike most I've seen, and I really look for that in anime. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent is because the ending was sort of the worst part of the show. Not that it wasn't good, but it could have been a little more dramatic with the way they led up to it. But other than that, it was a great show, and watching it, i'd give it an excellent, just don't expect too much for the ending by the way they lead up to it. I'm curious what the second season will bring.
E's Otherwise (TV) Masterpiece ...#9... My Ninth All Time Favorite, Perfect, i find this anime rather perfect, but one of the characters Asuka , was just not my type of character... however, the other charaters are some of my favorites, also the plot was good and everything was good about it... One of my Favorite characters are in here, Maxim... he himself boosted thsi anime for me a lot more then a character normally wood (With Fruits Basket as an expection)... Youll see waht i mean once you view this anime... the main character also goes under major development which si a very good thing, he does it in an interesting way... in it that he's sure of himself, and then not sure of himself, and then sure of him self and then not... but thats all i'll say, go watch it, hah...
Eden of the East (TV)
ef: a tale of memories (TV) Excellent Cute?, It was a classical romance anime, but classical is always good, I like how it was a dual plot, that althogh each story shared simularities in its moral, they were totaly differnet, yet in the same town, and involved some of the same problems... becuase of that, i consider this rather unique while at the same time the individual stories are classics.
Elfen Lied (TV) Masterpiece ...#3... My Third All Time Favorite, Elfen Lied, Elfen Lied... The thing i love about this show is the goryness and using it ot tie into the plot. That isnt so easy to do, and many people critize it for that along with some of the characters being repeats and moe like. But I see past that, at least i think i do. The show is beautiful becuase it has that gory element to it. Because it is like that, it makes the show that much more intense and then beause of that, it makes you want to see what happens next, and how the whole thing ends... I know it may be a weird thing to think about, but the goryness makes this show Beautiful and One of a kind... the makers of this show did a fantastic job using the right type of gore, and then they also did a fantastic job connecting things in the Main characters past to his present. The show also just had so many twists and turns it was like i was on a rollercoaster of excitement ( i know i sound like a movie ad, but i'm serious here). For me, that beauty in the violence can outdo any of the other problems people may see in this anime, but freedom experessioson ...
Ergo Proxy (TV) Excellent Dark, it was dark both literally and symbollicaly, it was dark beucase well the animation itself was dark, but also the plot and the charaters and the messages it gets across are very dark, but are important, becuase of that, becuase of the fact that everything was so dark about it, maeks it good and unique... some may say the first bunch of episodes are ... slow, if you share this belief, and you are a WIP (work in progress), try giving it another episode, the story picks up and the end is also one to be reckoned with.
Expelled from Paradise (movie)
Fairy Tail (TV)
Fantastic Children (TV) Masterpiece ...#7...Amazing, the story itself was one of best stories out there, the characters are great, but there is just something about it, and i've thought about it for a long time but i can't put my finger on it... that makes it, not as good as it could be... perhaps other people don't see it, and perhaps i'm just seeing things, but if i take out this "middle man" so to speak, then i'd be one of the best series i've ever seen. Diving in depth a bit mroe fathoms then before, lets look at the story... the story itself was probably the best story of any anime i've ever seen. It was so adventurous, but action packed and at hte same time mysterious, interesting, unique and comical in its own way... That combination of elements is nearly impossible to pull of, but in this anime it was executed beautifully... Its story is definatly the shaprest Knife in the Draweur here... The story also seemed to be rather long which in this case acutally made it a bit more enjoyable...
Fate/stay night (TV) Excellent Epic, it was really just epic... although it skipped around some of the cliches that are ususaly brought along with this type of series, in the end, it did seem to just... well end in that same way that anime and shows and waht not like this do end... but it didn't bother me this time, i really liked how this did that, and i really liked all the aspects invovled with this anime, i'd defintlye recoomend seeing this, it also didnt' feel like i wasted any of my time.
Fruits Basket (TV 1/2001) Masterpiece ...#1... My All Time Favorite, The reason i like this show so much.... well there are reasons, lets dive into my brain shall we... (scary thought yes? just go with me here)... I enjoy the sarcastic comedic yet well rounded plot type viewing of anything... whether it be a movie, anime, show, 2 minute video, what ever... thats what i enjoy... now thsi anime falls into that category for me 101%. I found this show more halirous then anything i have ever watched. The next part i love so much about it are the Characters. They had to make so many main characters, and they made them all different, eeach with their individual problems, and then the main charater does her stuff, and presto... So they had to do character changes for each one of those other somahs out there, but on top of all that, the main characters Tohru, Kyo and Yuki, were constantly undergoing changes mentally (haha and physically). Throughout the whole show and with each introduction of each otther character they changed, plus spending time around tohru... That in it of itsself is a feat well done (My all time favorite character in any show is Shigure, 2 goes to Aya and 3 goes to Yuki, 4 goes to Hatori, 5 goes to kyo, 6 is in another anime)... Then the plot, its hard to recognize the plot in the beginning and some may say there isnt' one, but there certianly is at the end, it had sort of been dormant throughotu the whole thing becuase it wasn't much of a problem untill the end... or should i say they didn't focus on it... This show, although being directed at the female audience was my all time fav... make fun of me for it if you would like, but this is certianly my #1
Full Metal Panic! (TV) Masterpiece Addicting, This anime was amazing, i bought it and watched all 24 episodes consecutivley without stopping which i ususuasly dont' do now a days, (i used to all the time)... wow though, there wasn't a flaw to be found, the story was nice and fluent and well done and thought of, the characters were all likeable, and it kept you into the anime and wanted you to know what would happen next... Also the comedy was.... well... comedic, it was great, if i had a top 11, this would probably be it as of now.
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (TV)
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV) Masterpiece Funny, it was really just halirious, there were so many funny things in here which made it so good... but the reason it stands out is once again the FMP series' combined perfeclty both humor and seriousness into a nonstop action funny machine...
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV)
Futakoi Alternative (TV) Decent I didn't mean to put it as dubbed. But yeah i didn't like it at all, i mean it was okay but i thought i would like something like this more than i did.
Gad Guard (TV) Excellent Classy, yeah this anime was defiantly classy, the style of the anime was just much much differnet from any other anime i've watched so far... definatly one to see, its style makes it acutally unique, which in this day in age for anime, is pretty hard to do... The Characters develped very well, and are likeable... worth seeing for sure
Gangsta. (TV)
Gantz (TV) Very good Well Played, it was good, there isn't much for me to say other then its not my type of anime, but still it was good becuase i can imagine other people realy liking it... i don't like how the story lagged on so much, but otherwise i can see people really liking it, so its worth seeing...
Genshiken (TV) Excellent Peculiar, it was certinaly odd watching an anime about people who love anime... like looking in a mirror, although not becuaes they certianly over did it, but i think that was for production and fan purposes, i don't think they were trying to make any sort of point wiht that, but it was really funny and worth the watch
Getbackers (TV) Masterpiece Cliche in a good way, It wasn't even that it was cliche by the book, but it seemed like i had seen it before, looking at hte big picture (seen it as in , like as watching it, it was deja vu). There were some good comedic elements, and the length of the show fit the plot and everything else... it had a lot of differnet stories, and it was a lot like a collection of short and long OVAs... worth seeing
Ghost Hound (TV) Masterpiece Cool, i know its a weird way to describe an anime, but thats my one word for it, looking at it more closely, the characters, the story, the animation and the ending (hard to see it perhaps) are all very well done, It, also, was very unique but i can't describe so well, in how it was...
Ghost Hunt (TV) Excellent Great, i really like how they split it up into differnet files, that way if you liked one of them, you can go back to them by just remembering which one you liked the most and also the way that they dont' show how the connect on the outside, but if you look at them more closely, there is a connectino in each story, not so much an actual factual connection, but its more of a feeling...
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society (movie) Excellent It was good, it wasn't all to interesting, but the end was like oh dang, it had an exciting ending, and at the end it was really interesting, i guess you could say it was kind of slo0w, but then its a Movie, so its different than an OAV... i'd definatly reccomend seeing this though, it was really good
Gilgamesh (TV) Masterpiece Sooo good, it had quite a Unique plotline... the show itself was very good, it got boring in some parts and then really really exciting in other parts, i definatly recommend watching this... The ending was a show in it of itself, it was very sad but it also was rewarding... Verrrrry good i recomend seeing this
(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie) Excellent Cute, This cute little romance was definitley worth the watch. They were able to take a "sensitive" topic, and took a science fiction idea, and tied them into one little movie during the present era. I thought that, in it of itself, was a great plot. The characters are nice, their relationships are something they did quite well. Along with that it had all the elements of a good story, with a good ending that kind of leaves you wondering, but allows you to predict what happens. It's just an all round good story that you shouldn't miss if you're into romances and/or movies.
Glass Maiden (TV) Very good This show was pretty good... although probably any other time i would have liked it more, i could predict every single thing that happened, more or less, and that got to be a little old because no one likes ot be able to predict shows, it's not being able to predict things that makes them interesting. But still, that's not to say that it wasn't a good show, it was, and i'd go see it if you have the time, it's just... there are bigger fish in the ocean than this one.
(The) Gokusen (TV) Excellent It was pretty funny and it reminded me a mix between two great shows, GTO and Cromartie High... it was pretty funny, had some really good moments, i definitely reccomend watchin' it. Knock yourself out.
Green Green (TV) Good Nah
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (TV) Masterpiece ...#8... My Eighth All Time Favorite, Flawless, it was just raelly raelly funny, really funny... the plot was good, the main character was also realy good, and the sub main characters were also good and i like how they change depending on how Onizuka is feeilng, the comedic elements also were just really enjoyable to watch... there were some comedic life lessons in here too... ilke not to end up as a bum, (Sorry to be offensive there)... It was cool becuase it was just like a Glimpse into a Lifestyle of your NOT average adult...
Gungrave (TV) Masterpiece Amazing, Gungrave was defintiely one of my favorite shows i've ever seen, it had probably the best laying out of events, and telling of the story. I was really impressed with that. I know with my next anime it's going to be a bummer that it's not goign to be as good as that, but yeah, i'm glad i watched it.
Gunslinger Girl (TV) Excellent Relaxing, It was a very relaxing easy to watch anime, it didn't have a set storyline mainly, it just had little stories in each episode which made it very good, i'd reccomend seeing this
Haganai (TV)
Haibane Renmei (TV) Excellent Hmm... well it was good... i think becuase of the great word i heard about it, my expectations were higher than the clouds (how punny), and i sorta didn't like it as much as i could have.. but that's not to say that it wans't good, it was great, deep, all that, had it's fare share of thoughts, but not the crem de la crem
Heaven's Memo Pad (TV) Masterpiece This was one of the best series I've seen recently. It was very complete, the story was very compelling, the characters were all likable, the conclusion was complete, it even made me laugh a few times. I almost feel like it deserves a masterpiece. Most of the time I believe 12 episode shows are too short, but this one was just perfect, if it says masterpiece, it's because I decided to change it after reflecting while typing this out. I bought this as a blind buy pretty much, and I am extremely glad I did. Good job, Hikaru Sugii. It also got better and better as the show went on. By the third episode it was making me laugh and everything. I strongly encourage people to watch this, it has slice-of-lifeness, detectiveness, some intense scenes, a little bit of everything.
Hellsing (TV) Excellent Vampiric?, it was kind of hard for me to understand quite fully what happened, but i'd definatly see it, it was good and the ending was rather different, cool though, however, i'm one of the few who would say that Trinity Blood was much better....
High School DxD (TV) Very good This show was pretty damn good, it surprised me. I'm not usually into Ecchi shows, but this one had a good plot. The ecchi parts were pretty ecchi but they did fit into the story. The thing I really liked about it though was that it was funny. This show made me laugh on several occasions. I'll definitely be watching the sequel.
High School DxD New (TV)
His and Her Circumstances (TV) Excellent Great but Flawful, this is really just a relaxing comedic love story and the more details of the two who fell in love... in the show it was the same type of coincidence as romeo and juliet when romeo falls in love with juliet and visa versa, so it makes for an interesting show... i'd definatly reccomend watching this if you can deal with some of the flaws (also it is a tad old, so flaws are expected perhaps)
Hunter × Hunter (TV 2011) Masterpiece
Infinite Ryvius (TV) Masterpiece Good but copycatic, an instant classic, this is a must see if you're into the futurisitic or "in space" animes...
Innocent Venus (TV) Excellent Uniquely unique, but you really have to pay attention to everything or else you're going to get confused, its like super good but they could have easily expanded it into 26 episodes, but yeah it was 12, great anime though, i'd reccomend seeing it
Interlude (OAV) Excellent ???, well it was definatly intricate, and extremely deep... there was a lot to it... and becuase of that i really wish this was at least 12 episodes or something... but i think i got the message they were trying to put across, about existence and dreams... i say though, the creators of this must be such philosophers it's crazy... but yes it'd definatly good and worth seeing, and if you can understand it then it's like great. But i think some people have a differnet way of thinking in which case it'll make 0 sense.
(The) irregular at magic high school (TV)
ItaKiss (TV) Excellent Awww, wow such a complete show, i really really really like the story in this romance, which for me is sort of rare, in my opinion many romances are the same, however this one had a differnet feel to it and it was definatly prolonged... first i like how it went weelllll into thier life time, and didn't just end like during highschool... that part was amazing, i really enjoyed that part. I would never even have begun to think about doing something like that, or even thinking "hmph, that'd be cool if they did that", but they did, so that was definatly a "+" for me. Then the fact that they constantly kept you on your toes about their love and what not, it seemed like it could break anytime, that made it so much more interesting. But one thing i thougth was kind of funnily weird, was that there were soooo many hospital visits throughout the show, i mean i guess it's normal since it spanned a long period of time, but i thought that was weird, but it all worked out. I like the ending a bit too. Great show, reccommend it to anyone.
Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade (movie) Excellent Pretty damn good
Jormungand (TV) Good
Jormungand Perfect Order (TV) Good
Jyu-Oh-Sei (TV) Masterpiece Amazing, This show makes me think a lot more than most shows... and i didn't expect that at all when i first bought it. I bought this in a blind buy, i had no idea what it is, i only remembered on the forum one of the picture guessing games one of the answers was one of the characters in the show. But it was great, i never was able to predict what happened. I really enjoyed the romance aspect, the fighting that was involved, the human relations, and then all the philosophical ideas that come along with it. It was defintiely a great show and it keeps making me think still. Go for it.
K: Return of Kings (TV)
Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox (TV) Decent Geez, talk about like... porn, man. Lol, it felt like i was watching like... well i don't even know, i mean the story was alright, and the whole fox thing was interesting, with the animals. But they way overdid it, i mean i guess it just isnt' my style to watch anime that's just nearly only revlovling around that. But for those who do like that, i think you'd like it.
Kaze no Yojimbo (TV) Masterpiece #3, Holy damn.... yeah this is amazing, definatly my #3 pick, replacing Elfen lied, i'll reconfigure my list later... but wow, this story i thought was so complete, i saw from the minute i spoted this anime, that it hougth i'd love it... it seemed like it had me me me written all over it. I was right, damn, i'll get more into this later, but it could easily surpass #3 in due time after i think about it for a while
KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple (TV) Good even though this show was just not overwhelmingly good, it was extremely satisfying. I wanted to see what happened next and if kenichi ever got strong. some really good fights
Kiddy Grade (TV) Excellent Enjoyable, This was a very well put together anime, it had a really great story after a rather long introduction... i Definatly recomend seeing this, it was one of the better ones i've seen...
Kill la Kill (TV)
Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (TV) Very good It was pretty good, its very particular to one type of genre, so you woudln't like htis if you really only like one type of genre that this doens' tfit in, but as for me, i'm open to anything... so i'd reccomend thsi to anyone.. Its worth seeing
Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World (movie) Excellent Fitting, It was very good, once agian it was just basically like another episode of Kino's Journey (TV), it was good just like every other episode of Kino's Journey was
Kino's Journey (TV) Masterpiece ...#4... My Fourth All Time Favorite, This really could be my #1, but it isn't... it fits it though, i like it as much as i do my #1, but there are others that deserve other titles thus preventing me from giving it that, but lets dive in shall we... think of it this way..... Each episode is an OAV connecting Morals and Values into one Big Moral/Value. On top of all of that, the character herself is one of my favorites. She in some ways is an Existentialist because she lives by the truth and feels pain for al that deserves it... which in reality is acutaly hard to do literally, i mean we all do it to an extent, but Kino herself does it to the msot extent possible... she see's every wrong action she does, and feels Empathy (Not sympathy, there is a key difference) for all thsoe who deserves it and for all those of whom she inflicts pain on. The fact that she is visiting so many differnet countries (cities) shows that she is an ousider, which can be symbolic to show that no body else has that ability to feel all pain in the world... (her world is not the same world we live, its a fantasy made up world)... Each episode exploits a problem of mankind, or not a problem, but an issue. Kino Visits for ... 3 days i think in each country, sort of evaluating... more observing it, and then she takes her leave... I knwo i'm explaining it to much so i'll stop, but thsi is really one you just must see...
Kino's Travels: Life Goes On (movie) Excellent Fitting, It was good it was basically just like an episode before episode 1 of kino's journey but in some ways it had a couple of spoiliers in it so if i were you i'd watch it after i finished kino's journey like i did... yeah it was really good though,
Kite (OAV) Very good Very Very good, but sorta hard to watch... I mean elfen lied was also gruesome, but it wasn't hard to watch beucase it acutaly made the storyline, whereas in here, it didnt' do that so well...
Kite Liberator (OAV) Good Nah, not as good as the first one...
Kuroko's Basketball (TV)
Last Exile (TV) Masterpiece Unique, it had a very good story that picked up a lot more nearing the second half of the story... i'd definatly reccomend seing this, the elements were good and it was rather unique... the only thing i'd say about it is that the first half, more the first 4th, was a bit slow... otherwise a fantastic show
Love Hina (TV) Very good Eh, it was kinda average, but i do like how the ending was a little hard to figure out, since they took a bunch of detours and what not in that last episode so that's why i rated it a little higher. Good job people.
Lunar Legend Tsukihime (TV) Excellent Legendary, it was short and nice, it had a very good plot, the plot was a bit confusing at times but it all makes sence at the end, it seems as though it tries to explain it throughout the anime more then once since its such a confusing one, but once you understand it makes it quite good, so try to understand in the beginning, its great though i definatly reccomend watching this
Madlax (TV) Masterpiece ...#10... My Tenth All Time Favorite... why, well, uh... tough to say raelly... it just had its own vibes here, like it was almost a Super Anime... certianly not easy to explain, its just a different type of anime, wiht the same sort of characters, the assasins, i realy like 'em and this show uses them in a cool way... it relates an Assasin with a normal school girl who plays a big part... The first few episodes are rather slow some migh tsay, but if you continue watching you'll see how soemone like me would like this show the way i do...
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV) Masterpiece This was really good, it was really easy and relaxing to watch, i definatly recoomend seing this, it has such a calm plotline and like mainly theres nothing too seriously intense you know its just relaxing and fun to watch and its a tad funny
(The) Melody of Oblivion (TV) Excellent Very Likeable, in some ways its a tiny bit hard to watch becuase it gets a little confusing, but everything makes sence right at the end... its very good i definatly recommend seeing this one... The characters are somethign in here that i noticed when watchign it a second time, i liked them better then i had before
Mezzo Forte (OAV) Good Alright, it was good for when it was made thats for sure, but yeah i'd defiantly watch it if i were you
Minami-ke (TV) Excellent Pleseant, it was just very soothing and pleasnt to watch, nothign to intense, but nothing too boring... it was also really funny, for me animes are hard to please in the comedy section, but this one passed... it was good, and yup, just a nice calm slice of life to watch
Mirage of Blaze (TV) Excellent Captian cliche, the story itsself was really good, and the characters were okay, but the thing is it should have been expanded into a like 100 episode series where like more events took place, becuase it was epic in that way... also yeah it was just sorta cramped, but it had a very good plot...
MoonPhase (TV) Masterpiece Truley magnificent, such a complete show, it had every element in it, comedy, romance even, a really good plot line, a good ending, and then the whole thing wiht the pots landing on peoples heads, it can be what ever you think it is but i belive its some sort of metaphor somewhat like someting in nature saying "you idiot" or "dummy" or something like that, yeah it was a great show i'd deeeffinatly reccomend seeing this
Mushi-Shi (TV) Excellent Deep, it was more like a whole bunch of different OVAs or somthing, it was pretty good though, i mean i dont' like it as much as other people did, but i can see how other people really enjoyed it for me it was just way to unrealistic in my opinion and like it assumed that you knew that typa world for the way it was... otherwise if you look past that it was a great anime, i'd definatly reccomend seeing it...
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok (TV) Excellent Long, yes it definatly seemed a lot longer than it was... it was good though, i mean there were parts throughout that i felt stupid watching for some reason becuase at points i could predict what they were going to say... But the show was very well put together, and the ending was great.... but the very very very ending was like ... dahls;g... but all in all, a well put together show indeed
Najica Blitz Tactics (TV) Good Nah
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Excellent Magnificently Epic, one of the best ones i've seen, it was done in a very interesting way, and it was hard to all get in at once, it was definatley a thinkiner and one that brings up controversial ideas... watch this one
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth (movie) Good Alright, it was just a recap, if you didn't understand something major, then watch this
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (movie) Excellent Soo good, it explained everything and it had a lot of twists and turnes, definatly watch this if you've seen neon genesis evangelion
No Game, No Life (TV)
Noein - to your other self (TV) Masterpiece Great anime, you have just got to see this, if you liked X (TV) then you'll love this one, it was great it had a really full storyline, i mean the creators could have expanded this into 100 episodes if they had wanted too, it had so much stuff happen in it and it was just a great series, definatly one i would reccomend for anyone to see
Noir (TV) Masterpiece ...#6... My All Time Sixth Favorite, Why you may ask, well lets look at it... it was certinaly mysterious in its very own way, unique in that way. Every thing that hapen led to more questions... Thinking about it hard, its in some ways the same as Spiral, in it that they're both investigating, what may seem to be an organization, but its really just some people, and they're trying to find otu what it means to a certian event that happened in their past... Noir just does it differnetly... i also really like how it doens't take place in Japan at all, it takes place in Paris for the most part... thats the hub at least... The one thing i note here that i don't note in any other anime is the music... i really enjoy the music in this anime, as a lot of people do... this makes it quite better for me in my opinion... The characters are a little broad but do go into some development... they are easily likeable and the show itsself is just great, worth seeing...
Now and Then, Here and There (TV) Excellent Alright!, it was good, i liked it as much as everyone else did... but again, something that bothered me was ... well it was my fault and my mistake, but it hought it was 24 episodes. So i got to 13 aqnd was like oh, it ended. So yeah, but it was deifntley good. defintiely worth seein'
Ouran High School Host Club (TV) Masterpiece Hilarious, This was just downright awesome, i loved this show so much, it was really funny, i loved all the characters, and its just right up there with Fruits Basket, You just have to see it, It had a little bit of everything in it.
Outlaw Star (TV) Excellent Old Classic, it was bascially a huge long adventure after a very interesting start, it had a lot of elements in it too as well as a veeerry good ending... the makers made it so it was a very complete story and just a complete anime overall, i'd definatly recomend this for those who like any sort of mecha or adventure anime, also it was pretty funny
Paranoia Agent (TV) Excellent Creepy as hell, but very good, interesting, makes one scared to be emotionally troubled... the fact that it was creepy as it was, played into the storyline... Just as the violence in Elfen Lied did for its storyline... without the creepiness, it woudln't have been half as good as it is now... There was a rather controversial episode in this series that some may say drifted rather far off, but that isn't what i think...
Peacemaker (TV) Very good It was good, but they could have condensed it really well, but that didn't happen. But the story itself was fine, minus a few mishaps along the way. Worth my time though in the long run i'd say, worth my time.
(The) Place Promised in Our Early Days (movie) Excellent It was pretty good, although i must admit, it wasnt' as good as it thought it would be. The reason i rated it so high was desite how much i thought it was good or bad, i can tell that generally others will find it better than i did. I rated it because it was well done, they did a good job making it, despite my feelings towards it. I like the way they illustrated the ending as well. Good stuff.
Please Teacher! (TV) Excellent Just an all out good anime, easy and fun to watch, had a good plot, must see
Please Twins! (TV) Very good Very good anime, fun and easy watch, made you want to see the next episode
Prétear (TV) Excellent It was good... I'd go out and see this if you're looking for a classical romantic comedy with a good story behind it. I twas good and happy and what not, it's worth seeing.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Excellent Classic(al)... it was really just, i don't know, it's not that it represented anime as a whole, but it sets a good name for anime for those who don't watch it... but however, seeing as how i saw thisfor my 84th anime, it's not as good as osme of the shows that i watch... on top of that i'm not an animovie person, i like series... so yeah, great though...
RahXephon (TV) Masterpiece Truly magnificent, this is a must see for any anime fan... You must see this if you liked either Blue gender or Neon genesis evangelion... its a great story, it lags on a bit but its really great, it had a lot of twists and turns, if you watch it and pay attention you'll understand everything which just makes the story that much better
RahXephon (OAV) Excellent Its also pretty good, its just an add on its not something you have to see, just if your interested then i'd check it out if i were you
Read or Die (OAV) Excellent OAV-ilicous, easy and fun to watch, exciting
REC (TV) Excellent Cute little romance anime, that has a very good plot, exciting, fun to watch, a must see and have in collection if you collect anime
Rune Soldier (TV) Excellent Funny, Yeah it was definatly funny i must admit... ha the adventure aspect of it it was also well done. I like the characters too. The character development was sort of not there as much as i would have wanted it to be, but it was still there a little. The ending was also pretty good and acceptable. But yes, what stood out most for me was the funny part and just the story itself was pretty well put together.
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) Excellent It was pretty execelent. Although it was a bit old-school and slightly contrived, the plot itself played out pretty well, and was generally a great story. I am excited to see the show that this is a prequel to. I'd definitely watch this.
Saiyuki (TV) Masterpiece Adventure, that one was all about the comedy and the realism effect of everything... it was so much different then any other tha ti've seen so far, but i think the most it was like was E's Otherwise, however their still different, this one was amazing... you must see it
Saiyuki Gunlock (TV) Masterpiece Adventure +1, you have to see the entire series, its one to be talked of by all, there isn't much to say about it other then it is "exquisite beyond words" so much happened, and there isn't one thing i don't like about it, characters are the best, the plot is the best, the show is just great, must see it
Saiyuki Reload (TV) Masterpiece Adventuer +2, it was a little better then the first series.... it honestly had so much funny things in it and the adventure is so great, and it continues, there isnt' a single thing about this show so far that i dont' like, i like every bit of it and i recomend this show to anyone who wants a comedic adventure with characters you are very funny...
Saiyuki: Requiem (movie) Excellent Different, i don't have much to say about it, so ... yeah
Samurai Champloo (TV) Masterpiece Right now i have to say the best show i've ever seen so far. I might just be saying it becuase i finished it like 2 seconds ago, but it was amazing, i've never been so thrilled in an anime before in my entire life. Of all 140. *Subject to change*
School Days (TV) Excellent Drama, but good to watch, with some twists, and twists are always good to watch...
School Rumble (TV) Masterpiece Hilarious, it was just flat funny... cute, funny, enjoyable, so... easy to watch.
School Rumble: 2nd Semester (TV) Masterpiece Hilarious, however... i hate when anime's endings are just like... continuations, like there is no solid ending. I mean it's great and all, but like it's like .... Well what happens. Well either way, it's a masterpeice becuase i've only laughed this many times in one other different anime. Comedy for me is +2 always.
Serial Experiments Lain (TV) Excellent Must See... at first it just seemed like i was watching a whole bunch of random eents that didnt' make sence, but as the show slowly unfolds, you see what it all means... It was a very well thought of show, i dont' knwo how anyone could have thought this idea up and made it this intricately... yeah i'd see this, its good
(The) Seven Deadly Sins (TV)
Shuffle! (TV) Very good Ecchi, it was funny and a bit of an ecchi but it doens't say that, i'd see it if you like sorta like that type of funny sexual humorish type of animes, it was funny in that regard and it had a very good story along with it, i'd recomend seeing it definatley
Solty Rei (TV) Masterpiece Moving, So amazing, soo amazing... this was such a good anime. I mean i'm typing this as i'm watching the credits, and it was just so absorbing. They really allow you to feel sympathy and empathy for everyone, it's just amazing. This anime was really well done. Absolutley perfect.
Soul Eater (TV) Very good Really good anime, had a lot of loveable characters. One reason I didn't give it an execelent was because of the ending, it just wasn't satisfying. They needed to elaborate more after the final battle, and not just end it. There was some much needed dialoge after that that didn't occur. Also there were a few things that were just sorta left unexplained such as the whole couple episodes when Marie and Chrona were fighting Medusa and Stein.
Speed Grapher (TV) Masterpiece Special, this one was defiantly special, i find it just ... so differnet and so ...... real. It shows such interestingly true yet horrible sides of humanity.... I'm a bit too lazy to do this perhaps sometime sooner, but this will defiantly be added to my top 10, probably somewhere around 4 or 5 or 6... so amazing, i'll elaborate later
Spice and Wolf (TV) Excellent It was really great, it was worth the watch for sure. What attracted me to the anime was that it had to do with trading and what not, and i thought that would be interesting to watch. It exceeded my expectations, i really liked all aspects of the anime, i needa be sure to re-watch it in the near future.
Spiral (TV) Masterpiece ...#2... My Second All Time Favorite, Why you may ask... well the show itself was inteligent, hah , i learnt more here than i do from some real live sources... The way they excuted each thign to get closer to what the Blade Chlidren acutally are was just magnificent. The thing that htis me most about thsi anime, which i like so much, is the Main Character Ayumu Narumi. His problems i must say in some ways i can literally relate right to them... they are in many ways what i have on my stack of issues... but the thing is, this kid is a genius, he can see through anything, and well intelecutaly beat aanyone... the fact that he can see all and know all so to speak really makes me like this anime... The second thing i like is how they use this knoweldge to battle each other, what with all the wars and stuff that they have that they call Games are just so .... cool haha, i don't know much how to put it in words but i really like that aspect of it. Thsis show also has some comedic tunes to it that i really like (not tunes as in music). It can be really randomly funny, and going back to the character, i like him becuase he has that attidtude of i don't care, but he perfects it. In other shows, they do this type of thing too, but in this show he perfects it... they did it correct, to my defintion that is, other people may not see eye to eye on this but as they say... "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"... The story is also one that i really enjoy, the whole thing is just a mystery, and Little Narumi is trying to solve it... it just fits my style i guess...
Spirited Away (movie) Excellent I honestly can't remember, i saw this a long long long time ago...
Suzuka (TV) Excellent Relief, it was such a long ride... it was well done though, they really made it able for one to be able to understand waht they were feeling and stuff... even though suzuka is one of the characters i hate the most in anime now... but either way, it was a really well crafted story.
This Ugly Yet Beautiful World (TV) Excellent Top nautch romance good anime, it was veeeeeeerrrrrrrrrry interesitng, super duper exciting
Tokko (TV) Masterpiece ...#5... i don't want to explain this one too much, its all bare bones, just watch it and then think about it... its worth it
Trigun (TV) Excellent Funny, the adventure is just so good, all the funny expierences and how everyone seems to understimate and think that he's not acutally vash the stampede, its funny and just a good adventure, i definatly reccomend seeing this one, its also got some somewhat cool action scenes
Trinity Blood (TV) Masterpiece It Was Great, i really reccomend seeing this, it had a great plot, and some good events that took place in the anime, it was overall good and i'd definatly reccomend this, it was much better then Hellsing in my opinion....i'd defiantly buy this one and watch it, it was amazing
True Tears (TV) Excellent See Air, its is exaclty as good as air, and has some key simularities as Air, i'd say this is more romance related then Air, but it had a striking resemeblence to it, I'd definatly see this show, if you like that type of show (Romances and Lovey-Duvey type shows)
Voices of a Distant Star (OAV) Very good Short and Sweet (except not sweet, sad), sorta sad, short, its definatly worth seing...
Welcome to the NHK (TV) Excellent Differnet, this was a weird show. I liked it a lot, it was interesting. I like the whole idea on how that can actually happen with the hikikamori concept, i don't think it would work quite like that over in the States. I also enjoyed not being able to tell what would occur next. I reccomend this show to those lookin' for somethin' different.
When They Cry - Higurashi (TV) Masterpiece Complicated, During this anime, i was confused for quite a long time, the longest i've been confused in any anime i've ever watched. But i'm impressed with how it went along, and i'm quite happy with how it ended. It is a good show and i'd definitely reccomend it.
Wolf's Rain (TV) Excellent It was pretty good, it had the characteristics of a masterpeice anime, but for some reason, something brought it down a few. I'm not pretty sure why, but ... well i'll give it this, the story was really really .... full, and intense.
Wolf's Rain (OAV) Excellent I don't even know why they had this as an OAV and not part of the series but... well, it concluded the series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
X (TV) Masterpiece Amazing, it was one of the first animes that i ever saw and i still think to this day that many animes made are just not on the same level as this one, what wiht the epicness, it could have been expanded into a much longer series, one just comical flaw is that some of the charactrs look the same... hehehe, but that doesn't matter in the least, its really great...
Yugo the Negotiator (TV) Very good Different, i like how it took place in places that anime doens't ususaly take place. Like the middle east and russia and stuff, that was pretty cool. I like the over all feel of the show too, it was very fluent, it kept moving, and it was like watching a war movie where it's just moving right along you know. It was really easy to watch too. So yeah it was good, i'd see it again.
Yumeria (TV) Very good Interesting, cute, good, funny, exciting, Has a twist
Zone of the Enders (TV) Masterpiece This was an extremeley really really good anime, it was so intense and it had a great ending with some really funny elements as well... it was probably one of the best i've seen, but not hte best.... you must see this
Zone of the Enders: Idolo (OAV) Excellent It was good, but it didn't expalin things enough since it dind't have enough time, the show was a whole lot better, but htis was still really really good definatly worth seeing, i reccomend if you dont' care aobut spoilers and you care more about how they do the show then you should see this one first
