Ah! My Goddess: The Movie A wonderful continuation of the OAV, wrapping up our young lovers lives with a twist ending.
Akira (movie)
Angelic Layer (TV) An addicting shoujo anime, I just couldn't help rooting for Misaki & Hikaru, even though it was obvious from a scene in the opening that Misaki would eventually battle Shuuko & Athena. Oojirou-san is yummy. The first ending sequence is still my favorite OP/ED of the series I've seen.
(The) Boy Who Saw the Wind (movie)
BPS - Battle Programmer Shirase (TV)
Castle in the Sky (movie) Laputa is a cute stand-alone movie, with a couple unique plot twists I don't want to give away. The type of movie you could toss (a good dub copy, if it exists) in on a rainy day for bored neices/nephews/cousins/babysitted kids and belongs next to Kiki's Delivery Service.
Chibits (special)
Chobits (TV)
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Ed, as with most overly-manic characters, annoys the heck out of me. Otherwise the movie is pretty good, whether or not you've really seen the series. A great pity that there wasn't a greater distribution of this in the U.S. theaters, it beats the pants off most of the action movies that have come out in the past year.
D.N.Angel (TV) *Drool* Beautiful, richly colored anime with good CGI effects. Daisuke is sweet and awkward as a teenage guy can be with his crush on Risa and the unique ability he's inherited to change into Dark. The inter-dialogue between Dai-chan & Dark-san is amusing. Risa's naivete and enthusiasm for Dark get a tad annoying since we know that Dai is Dark and she always ignores poor Dai's affections. Excuse me while I root for Riku (Risa's twin) to win Dai's heart in the end.
Escaflowne: The Movie u.u;; The movie jumps far too quickly through the plot & the grand scheme of thing, leaving one lost in the wherefors and the whys of the secondary characters and what the point of them might be. Its almost like they had an editor who went overkill on cutting the script to get it from 150 down to 90 mins. Ruins the otherwise fascinating story.
Flame of Recca (TV) Archetypical fighter-shounen fare in many ways, guy meets girl, saves girl, gets special ability. Friends/rivals square off in fights, gain or show abilities, protagonist wins. Girl gets kidnapped, real villians show up and the duking it out comences. Its fun though, with an awesome opening theme & ending themes (which are wasted on the cheesy montage footage).
FLCL (OAV) Insane, bizarre, yet inexplicably fascinating.
Fruits Basket (TV 1/2001) Ka-wa-iiii... sugoi... must-have-manga-why-isnt-there-another-season? Its pure shoujo, revolving around sweet, naive Tohru--a teenage girl coping with her mother's death who is taken in by Souma Shigure and his wards Yuuki & Kyou as a desperately-needed housekeeper. The Soumas have a secret curse that has been passed down through generations. When hugged by the opposite sex, they change into a creature of the Chinese Zodiac--with humorous results. Tohru's life quickly becomes wrapped up with the Souma's as her compassionate, accepting nature begins to heal some of the emotional traumas & eases the burdens of those she encounters. It ends far too soon, and in my eyes does not redeem the antagonist Akito and we don't meet Rooster's or Horse's incarnations.
Full Metal Panic! (TV)
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV)
Fushigi Yugi (TV) AKA Fushigi Yuugi. Miaka, if not the brightest girl, makes up for the Usagi-archetype by showing occasional moments of real courage and determination. And then she ruins it by wimping out or plunging blindly into a situation oblivious to logical reasoning. Tamahome (Miaka, miaka, MIAKA!) worth rooting for, so is Tasuki as the 'rogue' of the group and Nuriko is fun as the gay/transvestite member. Yui... is incredibly blind & naive for someone supposedly so studious & intelligent...
Fushigi Yugi (OAV)
Fushigi Yugi Eikoden (OAV)
Ghost in the Shell (movie)
.hack//GIFT (OAV) Bonus episode #29 -- Schary Super-Deformed Omake...
.hack//Intermezzo (OAV) Bonus episode #27 -- Cute side-story
.hack//Legend of the Twilight (TV) Light, fluffy fare compared to the other .hack's, its definitely targeted towards a younger set. Ooka is my favorite character of 'Tha World', even if she doesn't get enough time devoted to her. Supporting characters and the antagonists lack a bit of depth and are pretty weak in motivation as the story unfolds, but it fills in other aspects not seen in the first series (major plus to the variety and amount of filler players wandering around compared to the sparser original). The "Rena!" "Onechan!" dialogue gets old quick.
.hack//Liminality (OAV) Originally a bonus with the .hack video games, it provides more background on 'Tha World'. Portrayed solely from the 'real world' prospective, its a bit choppy if you don't know what's happening within the game simultaneously. The fan-subs or the planned DVD release could have been filled out a tad by seguing to footage from the game at times.
.hack//SIGN (TV) An awesome if slightly slow-starting story of Tsukasa, a player who cannot log-out and the party that eventually forms around S/he to resolve this mystery. The soundtrack is awesome just as a standalone, done by See-Saw, often providing intriguing counterpoints to emphasize the undercurrents.
.hack//Unison (OAV) Bonus episode #28 -- Nice pre-Dusk wrap-up of characters
Hana Yori Dango (movie)
Hikaru No Go: New Year Special
His and Her Circumstances (TV)
InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass

Kimagure Orange Road: The Movie
Love Hina (TV)
Love Hina Again (OAV)
Love Hina Spring Special - I Wish Your Dream
Love Hina X'mas Special - Silent Eve
Magic Knight Rayearth (TV) -Currently Watching- A tad cutesy, and the excessive chibi-ism makes it feel that the archetype of the Magical Girl genre had to skimp on the animation quality. The characters are a bit stiffly formal compared to their modern successors, but the essence of it all shines through.
Marmalade Boy (movie)
Martian Successor Nadesico (TV)
Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness
My Neighbor Totoro (movie)
Naruto: Akaki Yotsuba no Clover o Sagase (OAV)
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (movie)
New Kimagure Orange Road: Summer's Beginning (movie)
Ninja Scroll (movie) Loathsome B-Movie crap-on-a-stick. Deserves to be on the 'Please steal me! I'm a Cheesy Action flick which you will watch soley to get off on the blood and boobies!" $0.99 table
Oh My Goddess! (OAV)
Please Teacher! (TV) -First Six Episodes- Waiting for my Anime pimp to push the rest of them on me... Plot feels a little forced compared to the easy stream of other animes.
Please Teacher! (OAV)
Please Twins! (TV)
Please Twins! (OAV)
Princess Mononoke (movie)
R.O.D -The TV-
RahXephon (TV) In my opinion, its better than Evangelion is supposed to be, eschewing the farcial characters for a deeper, more complex and introspective psychological mystery thats alluring. The darkness of the storyline is offset by the rich palette of colors used, that it makes it worthwhile sometimes to just watch the pretty pictures. A really bittersweet ending that leaves you wondering.
RahXephon (OAV)
Ranma ½: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China (movie)
Ranma ½: Nihao My Concubine (movie)
Read or Die (OAV)
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) The dark, sad prequel to the TV series, a serious tear-jerker over Kenshin's tragic, troubled past and the origin of his trademark scar. No one ever asks or explains why he's a redhead or stigmatizes him for it though...
Shaman King (TV 2001) -Currently Watching- I really like Asakura Yoh... the world's most laid-back Shaman with his laissez-faire attitude. Manta mellows out after the first dozen manic outbursts. And you can sympathize with Anna at the same you're wincing at her slave driver routines. No one cares more about Yoh than Anna, even if she doesn't show it. I have the overwhelming urge to take scissors to Ryu & Tao Ren's hair repeatedly. The Dubbed version on Fox is pretty medicore. The voice actors don't quite suit the characters... sounding too grown up, too meek or just inappropriate & then the usual awkward fudging of culture-based dialogue.
Shamanic Princess (OAV)
(The) Slayers (TV) -Currently Watching- I can't help but like the feisty Lina, the morose Zelgadis and even Gourry--proof of every dumb blond joke out there. Amelia & family (dead or not) are exasperating.
Slayers - The Motion Picture
Slayers Excellent (OAV)
Slayers Gorgeous (movie)
Slayers Great (movie)
(The) Slayers Next (TV)
Slayers Premium (movie)
Slayers Return (movie)
(The) Slayers Try (TV)
Slayers: The Book of Spells (OAV)
Spirited Away (movie) A wonderfully sweet fairy tale, reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass without the drug-induced hallucinations.
