Afro Samurai (TV) Good The animation is great, and while there's not much to the concept... it's a fun show to watch.
Akira (movie) Masterpiece Maybe reading the manga will change my opinion of the film, but in its own right, the film is amazing. One of my all-time favorite films, anime or no anime.
(The) Animatrix (OAV) Good While there are certainly shorts that are far better than others, I found most of what was offered to be decent.
BioHunter (OAV) Not really good Nothing special.
Black Magic M-66 (OAV) Decent It's cheesy and pointless, but it's fun in a bad 80s way.
Blood: The Last Vampire (movie) Decent Visually, it good and it has a lot of action, but overall it was very underwhelming and lacking character development.
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Masterpiece As perfect as anime can get, and one of those rare instances where dubbing feels mandatory and perfect.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Very good It may as strong as the series is, as a whole (how could it be?), but looking at it in an episode standpoint... it's definitely one of the stronger stories the series has offered.
Dragon Ball (TV) Masterpiece The show is addicting, funny, and the characters are great... and it manages to avoid being as ridiculous as the sequel series' are.
Dragon Ball GT (TV) Bad Really?
Dragon Ball Z (TV) Excellent With that said about Dragon Ball, despite how ridiculous, over-long and over-the-top this show can get... it's one of the greatest guilty pleasure shows I've ever watched. It's unintentionally hilarious, often I might add, but there are some interesting plots that unfold during the show and I don't think anyone can deny that the show has some great moments in it. Unless you don't care at all about the characters or Dragon Ball in general.
Fist of the North Star (TV) Good Definitely one of the dumbest shows I've seen, but oddly I found it to be very interesting and fun. Another guilty pleasure.
FLCL (OAV) Excellent You'll never see another show like this one.
Grappler Baki: The Ultimate Fighter (OAV) Decent It's entertaining.
Grave of the Fireflies (movie) Excellent A very sad, moving film.
Hellsing (TV) Good I liked it, but the ending left for something to be desired. I watched the first OVA release, the recap one, it pretty disappointing. Not sure about the others.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Masterpiece It's really hard to define this show, every emotion a person can have this show inspires. I was more interested in the characters and conversations than the moments of action. There are some truly unsettling moments, and times it makes you question your existence and the decisions you make. I dug the ending, but it left me wanting much, much more. I guess that's why there's a movie!
Paranoia Agent (TV) Excellent Disturbing, creepy, effective, one of the more interesting animes series out there.
Samurai Champloo (TV) Very good Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but who cares? The characters (while too familiar), are still interesting enough to watch, the humor usually works, the animation is great, and the story is involving. Also, despite the retarded theme... its hop-hop inspiration works very well.
Shadow Skill (OAV) Not really good
Shadow Skill 2 (OAV) Not really good
Trigun (TV) Excellent I've seen it more time than I can count! Okay, that's a lie... but it's a pretty great show.
Vampire Hunter D (OAV) Decent It's campy and entertaining, but definitely overrated.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (movie) Very good Improves on every level where the original fails, introduces a strong story, interesting characters, and some impressive visuals.
Wolf's Rain (TV) Masterpiece One of my all time favorites. I've never connected and cared for characters as much as I did for the ones in the series. The four recap episodes were useless filler, but everything else is great. One of my favorite endings as well.
X (movie) Not really good There are some interesting moments, but overall the movie is a snore. I'd like to watch the series sometime, though.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files (TV) Masterpiece I'm almost hesitant to call it a masterpiece, but I honestly can't think of a more addicting anime than this one. All of the characters are distinctive, the show is often funny, and the fights are pretty awesome. Each saga brings something new the table, and you don't feel like you're watching the same thing over and over again. I love this show.
