Accel World (TV) Decent Fairly unique and interesting characters, attempts to make them more realistic than most anime of it's ilk. I get the sense that I might be a tad too old for it and that it's geared more to teenagers specifically.
Afro Samurai (TV) Decent Badass, lots of action and cool factor, not much else to it. A little but not uch.
Akira (movie) Good Impressively animated and visually stunning. Although a bit weird and people outside of Japan may not get the culture commentary and it's characters are a bit flat at times.
(The) Animatrix (OAV) So-so Might help to know more about the matrix lol.
Another (TV) Very good If M. Night Shyamalan made an anime this would be what it would be like lol. I mean this in a good way though, genuinely scary at points, has some wild plot twists later. Good if you want a nice horror series.
Attack on Titan (TV) Very good
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King (movie) Very good
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey (movie) Good
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent (movie) Excellent
Black Lagoon (TV) Very good
Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (OAV) Good
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (TV) Excellent
Bleach (TV) Decent The first season is one of the finest monster of the week anime you'll ever see, the first 3 are some of the best you'll see in any shonen anime....after that it goes into a filler arc 2 thirds the length of the series up to that point and it's pacing is terrible from there on out. I found the last 3 seasons enjoyable too though.
Bleach the Movie: Fade to Black (movie 3) Very good
Bleach the Movie: Hell Verse (movie 4) Decent
Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody Good
Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion (movie 2) Good
Blood Lad (TV) Good Satire of all things anime...and twilight....weird combination but it's a really fun series.
Blue Exorcist (TV) Very good
Blue Gender (TV) Very good
Boogiepop Phantom (TV) Excellent BoogiePop Phantom is quite the overlooked one. It's been around since 2000 and I only literally just heard of it less then a month before writing this here. BoogiePop is sort of an abstract surrealist series, it's plot moving in a similar manner to the likes of Un Chien Andalou, jumping around with little real pattern beyond focusing on it's subject character of the episode. While this makes it's plot rather hard to follow it does convey what it wants all the better as a result. As for what exactly it conveys, think Paranoia Agent meets Evangelion. I can't say too much specific without giving away a spoiler but like Paranoia Agent the episodes are loosely tied around a central chaaracter in the middle of it all, unlike the former this character isn't really portrayed as a main character at all and doesn't get an episode of their own until toward the very end of the series. In a similar manner to Evangelion it's first and foremost an exploration of the character's individual psyches, each having their own unique sets of mental issues. BoogiePop Phantom is just a short tier below masterpiece level in my opinion since it does have a few small but noticable flaws, the first being that it's relatively low resolution holds up somewhat poorly today and it's symbolism does seem convoluted on first viewing to me. Still, this is well worth a watch if you're into this sort of series. Should be required viewing almost really.
Buso Renkin (TV) Decent
Casshern Sins (TV) Decent
Castle in the Sky (movie) Very good
(The) Cat Returns (movie) Decent
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Good
Coppelion (TV) Very good
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Very good What can ya say about Bebop? This is a series that can do everything, and most of the time does it damn well. It's like the Star Wars of anime.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Very good
Darker than Black (TV) Very good
Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor (TV) Very good
Dead Leaves (OAV) So-so Has some cool looking art, good voice acting and gave me a couple laughs...but that's really kind of it. The most fascinating thing about this movie (or at about 53 total minutes length it may be more accurate to call it a feature) is that it was the directorial debut of Hiroyuki Imaishi of Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill fame. In a lot of ways it's almost the "Id" of his style; totally unrefined core raw Imaishi....meaning in simpler terms this shit's ADHD to the max. Think Adult Swim's Super Jail only moving at a much faster pace and with even less of an attention span. It's biggest drawback is that unlike the latter it really has zero timing to any gags it has, it just kinda throws joke after joke at you and hopes something will hit with only some bizzarely also hyper active fight scenes to break it up. I guess there are worse things you can do with an hour than watching that and if you really like Gurren Lagann or Kill La Kill you may find it fascinating....even if you'll probably also find it nowhere near actually as good as them.
Deadman Wonderland (TV) Very good Like carnage? Demented premises? Have a taste for torture? Deadman Wonderland is a must see if ya do! Deadman is the perfect mix of mindless fun, twisted humor and some occasional drama. It's a series that needs a second season desperately though.
Death Note (TV) Decent Well conceived plot, but also some of the worst characters and story delivery you'll ever find (save for L of coarse who was a fine character). Has a great concept behind it but isn't quite as nihilistic as it wants you to think it is.
Devil May Cry (TV) Decent Ever played the Devil May Cry games and wondered what a day in the life of it's colorful half demon protagonist Dante is like? Looking for a decent monster of the week anime? If you answered yes to either of these questions ask your doctor about Devil May Cry: The Anime Series. If not...well I guess you can watch it anyway. You won't be very disappointed with what you see but don't expect anything life changing here.
Digimon Adventure 02 (TV) Good
Digimon Tamers (TV) Very good
Dragon Ball GT (TV) Good
Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy (special) Very good
Dragon Ball Movie 1: Curse of the Blood Rubies Good
Dragon Ball Z (TV) Good What can you say about it? Great action, memorable characters, and a whole lot of HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dragon Ball Z Kai (TV) Very good See Dragon Ball Z, only with a lot less HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Also better pacing and a much better dub. Loses some of the "so bad it's good" charm of the original though.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (movie) Very good
Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly (movie 11) Decent Kinda like Second coming only less amusing. Good to see Krillen being less useless though lol.
Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound (movie 9) Decent
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming (movie 10) Decent I found this mildly amusing. From the dark and violent tone of the first Broly to slapstick. SPOILER, there's actually a scene where he get's pissed on.
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan (movie 8) Good
Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge (movie 5) Decent
Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn (movie 12) So-so
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' (movie) Very good
Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! (movie 7) Good
Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler (movie 6) Decent
Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon (movie 13) So-so
Dragonball: Evolution (live-action movie) Awful Yeah there's not much to say of this. It's a genuinely bad movie no matter how you slice it. Any entertainment out of this would probably be derived from the terrible but amusing cinematography. Some may even find how Goku was portrayed offensive to the character though, it's really that bad.
Durarara!! (TV) Very good
Eden of the East (TV) Decent
Elfen Lied (TV) Excellent
Eureka Seven (TV) Decent
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (movie) Very good
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (movie) Excellent
Fate/Zero (TV) So-so
Fate/Zero (TV 2) Very good
FLCL (OAV) Good Probably one of the best series to be introduced to anime with and is something I feel is a must see for any anime fan. It's one of the weirdest things you'll ever see, but I assure you it's hilarious. Fooly Cooly is also one of the most oddly spot on portrayals of the feel of being an early adolescent boy I've ever seen. This is an aspect of it I've come to appreciate more as I've gotten older though. It's a viewing experience like nothing else you'll ever see, I assure you of that.
From Up On Poppy Hill (movie) Good
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Masterpiece
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) Very good
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (OAV) Good
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa Very good
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (movie) Very good
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (TV) So-so This series had some potential, but really at the end of the day this series was trying too hard to be something I feel like it kinda wasn't. I felt that it really wanted to be a more sophisticated sci-fi anime like Ghost in the Shell or something. I've always thought that something like that has to start with an idea you want to explore, Gargantia really just couldn't come up with that exactly. Starts off trying to be sort of nihilistic and philosophical, later ventures into something a little closer to social commentary and neither end up amounting to much. And they all lived happily ever after...or something.
Ghost in the Shell (movie) Excellent
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (movie) Very good
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) Very good
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Individual Eleven (OAV) Excellent
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man (OAV) Very good
Golgo 13: Queen Bee (OAV) Good
Grave of the Fireflies (movie) Masterpiece
Gurren Lagann (TV) Good
Haibane Renmei (TV) Excellent An anime about sin...sounds like the most pretentious thing in the world to most I reccon, but this one has real sunstance to it. It has a way of making you care about it's character quickly and has one of the most emotionally intense conclusions I've ever seen. I can't really say more without giving spoilers but I can just leave it as I found it amazing.
Hellsing Ultimate (OAV) Decent
Hetalia - Axis Powers (TV) Good
High School of the Dead (TV) Decent Like zombie smashing and anime girls with really big boobs? Look no further this is the perfect series for you! Want something a little more intelligent....move along lol. Mindlessly fun and ridiculous. Not much more to say than that.
Howl's Moving Castle (movie) Good
Hunter × Hunter (TV 2011) Good Think Dragon Ball Z+One Piece+Naruto in one package. For the whole series aside from the Chimera Ant arc (which still had some truly great moments) this was one of if not THE best paced anime north of 100 episodes I've ever seen in terms of plot movement. It does take a while to get interesting, but once it does it's worth it.
Immortal Grand Prix (TV 2) So-so One of the best looking anime to use 3D animation I've ever seen, in it's time second only to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Has some nice action and some interesting characters but it get's off to a rocky start and has a somewhat weird concept. It's unique, but much like Redline I couldn't get that into it. Totally understand why some like it as much as they do though.
Inuyasha (TV) Good InuYasha was probably ultimately the series that made me an anime fan. It wasn't the first anime I'd ever seen since I'd seen all those other series like Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Sailor Moon etc. that everyone has seen prior but InuYasha was really the series that introduced me to adult swim action, which in turn introduced me to the rest of the genre. Unfortunately much like many formative titles it doesn't quite hold up extraordinarily well on revisit. Now, that isn't to say it's bad by any means but it certainly has some issues. For one thing, in the dub at least it's dialogue it pretty darn stupid sometimes, particularly in the constant "point out the obvious" lines. I get the general sense that this happens a lot in Japanese as well as in the dub. The series plot tends to be pretty repetitive too and has MANY tangents. It seems to be awkwardly caught between being episodic and being serialized. This isn't to say all of these tangents are bad by any means, the episode featuring another half demon named Jinenji serves as a nice way to learn a bit more about our half demon titular protagonist. It has plenty of positives though, including a very memorable cast of characters, a well used soundtrack, gorgeous artwork (if at times less than stellar animation) and plenty of Rumiko Takahashi's signature humor to make this a worthy anime to check out if you're looking for a longer series to get into.
InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass Decent
InuYasha the Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler Very good
InuYasha the Movie 4: Fire on the Mystic Island Decent
InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time Decent
InuYasha: The Final Act (TV) Very good
K (TV) So-so
Kekkaishi (TV) Decent
Kick-Heart (movie) Not really good Kick Heart was REALLY bizarre. Kind of like an Adult Swim cartoon only much less funny. Not much more to say about it other than that.
Kids on the Slope (TV) Very good
Kiki's Delivery Service (movie) Very good
Kill la Kill (TV) Excellent Kill la Kill is quite nearly the embodiment of everything that makes anime unique as a medium. It's probably the most crazy over the top series I've seen since Fooly Cooly that actually works. I feel like the thing I like best about Kill la Kill is that it can actually be intelligent and and times perhaps even genuinely substantial without ever needing to entirely drop it's craziness. It conveys the timeless clash of nature and culture, makes some ballsy political statements about present day Japanese culture and in broad ways makes some decent commentaries on more universal things as well while making them in the most hilariously obsurd anime-ish ways you can imagine, effectively avoiding falling into the trap of coming off as preachy. All of these elements serve the story and not the other way around. Even without these elements it's immensely entertaining, the most refined and perfected manner of director Hiroyuki Imaishi's always chaotic style. Unlike previous offerings of his like his previous works like Dead Leaves it does feel like there's just the right amout of method to Kill la Kill's madness, and unlike another of his previous works Gurren Lagann it's able to maintain a fairly consistant tone without needing the abrupt jerk to a more serious tone midway when it get's into the meat of it's story. Of coarse when taken at face value it's actual plot is pretty ridiculous, but that should go without saying. On the technical side of it it has a very similar artstyle to Gurren Lagann, nice looking but very cartoony. It has that Gainax-esque cheap but good astyle of animation, it's not exactly Gainax's style where they use going off model and momentary pencily art to make more energetic scenes but it's a similar idea. The soundtrack for this series is pretty memorable, and it's utilized perfectly. Kill La Kill also had one of the best dubs I've ever seen. All in all if you've ever liked anime you must watch this! If you haven'....why are you reading this first off all but it might end up confusing you a lot. This one get's an A from me.
Kurozuka (TV) Not really good Starts out with some kick ass samurai action...and later becomes anime Twilight...strange and uninteresting really.

Naruto (TV) Good
Naruto Shippūden (movie) So-so
Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds So-so
Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison (movie) Good This was actually quite enjoyable...though not for the purposes you might expect. If you're remotely familiar with Naruto you'll find this to be one of the most epic series of WHAT THE F$%K DID I JUST SEE moments you'll ever witness. Just to give context, Naruto is sexually violated by a prison warden in the first 20 minutes.
Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower (movie) So-so
Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire (movie) Decent
Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals (TV) Decent This is more of a parody of the main Naruto series than anything else, it's humor is rather immature and I personally found it to be kind of hit and miss but with the sheer amount of jokes they throw at you some are bound to it. Enjoyable series overall, you get a few really good laughs at the best, although you will be bored at the worst.
Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom (movie 3) So-so

Pokémon Origins (special) Good
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (movie) Decent Honestly, this is a difficult film to criticize as a cynical adult. It's a children's film first and foremost and one intended to fill them with wonder and enchantment, not something that's meant to give much thought to. I will say it has some of the most brilliant animation you'll ever see, even the great Disney/Pixar animator John Lasseter has praised it for this and commented on how difficult to pull of some of this was. That being said, it is likely Hayao Myazaki's weakest film, it's too adore able to hate though. Even at his worst Miyazaki is something else.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal (ONA 2014) So-so Probably the weakest piece of Sailor Moon material I've ever seen. I guess before bashing though I should name a few positives on it (yes there are some). On a side note first, I should note that this is based only on the dark moon arc since ANN it and the second arc of Crystal listed separately. First off, it does have a very nice looking art style. It may not always be fitting for Usagi to be so....elegant looking I guess for lack of a better word. This is mainly due to it clashing with the clumsy and goofy natured protagonist's personality, but this is a very minor flaw. The other character designs all look pretty great and a lot of the backgrounds are simply gorgeous. A nice little touch they added to Crystal was that they actually fully animated the fight scenes and showcased the sailor senshi's powers, unlike the 90s anime which largely used recycled animation for them save the really important parts. However, that was literally probably the only good thing about the animation here. Not only is it generally as static as the scene will usually allow in the way of character movement, but early on especially it just can't keep itself on scale to save it's ever living soul. The writing for this series is pretty awful too. The dialogue is a little hard for me to judge adequately since I'm not exactly fluent in Japanese and could only understand some of it. I guess it got the job done, but I can't say much more on that. The plot is pretty meh but Sailor Moon was never known for having a great plot so this is par for the course. The biggest blow to it is that the once memoriable, lovable and relatable characters are now quite wooden. So naturally because of this the voice acting is also pretty bad. Even Kotono Mitsuishi reprising her role as Usagi from the first series sounds totally flat most of the time. Chances are this is really more because the cast is given so little to work with. Overall this series reeks of poor direction. Fortunately the next arc was an improvement.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal (ONA 2015) Good This is the second half of Sailor Moon: Crystal, and it adapts the Black Moon arc of the manga previously adapted as Sailor Moon R. This half of Crystal steps up in quality quite a bit from the first. All of the pros and cons of the first half stand but the bad parts aren't as bad and the good parts are usually better. The animation is still bad, but it's not as horrible. A lot of scenes are still as static as they can feasibly be, but they succeed in preventing characters from getting horribly off model. The direction is still pretty poor overall and a lot of moments do get botched but the most important ones at the very least seem to get across just what they need. The art is still very good looking though, the future moon kingdom especially looks fantastic. It's writing is oogles better than the first arc as well. This is the first time it actually tops the 90s anime in any significant way, first in that it gives it's new characters like Chibi-Usa and it's villains a much clearer backstory and motivations. Wthout going into spoilers it even did some pretty solid world building in this half and strengthens the mythos of Sailor Moon in ways the 90s anime never did. Unfortunately while some of the characters were much better written, others (ie every Sailor Senshi aside from Sailor Moon, Chibi Moon and Pluto) all take serious back seats to the more main characters and become duller than before. Still, this finally I guess succeeds in netting a "good" out of me.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Very good
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (TV) Very good
Ranma ½ (TV) Good 161 episodes of slapstick sitcomish....stuff. It's comedy is pretty hit or miss, sometimes it's funny, sometimes it isn't. I guess even during it's miss episodes it's still a likeable series. It's also the oldest genderbender anime I've seen...might be the first I dunno.
Redline (movie) So-so Honestly I respect this one more than I actually like it. I wanted to like it given the effort that went into it's animation (7 years and 100,000 drawings of work) but I just couldn't get that into it.
Requiem from the Darkness (TV) Good Requiem from the Darkness is an anime about a writer whose on a quest to write 100 stories who encounters a band a strange exorcist and his friends who fight supernatural threats dealing with the dead. He and his group show the writer their world, a writer's wet dream! For a long time many writers have yearned to return to the days when people's imaginations ran so rampant they could feel as though they've encountered the mythical as people in ancient times did. That's the idea central to requiem from the darkness, and I personally find it to be quite a compelling one. I especially loved how these encounters with the supernatural are handled throughout the series, with so much of them remaining in the shadows and in the mind I was often left feeling like it could actually happen to someone, as weird as it is to say. The series has a really good looking art style, but it's animation can be pretty static at times and some of the 3D animated portions don't hold up well today. In the way of audio there isn't much to say here, it uses soundtrack very sparingly, which surprisingly builds atmosphere almost better than if it hadn't, and atmosphere is key to a series like this. Unfortunately, while not the worse I've heard it's dub is fairly weak. All in all the biggest thing keeping this series from being a very good or even excellent one though is it's awkwardly fast pacing. I couldn't put my finger on what was so weird about it until the very last episode but upon noticing it I attribute this mainly to it's very abrupt feeling scene transitions, one scene ends and another begins without much warning at all and this can make it very had to follow at times. Still, while this weighs it down it doesn't stop it from being at least a good series in the end.
Revolutionary Girl Utena (TV) Very good
Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie
Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie Very good Easily the best Naruto movie up to this point. This is a fairly rare example of a movie based on a long running shonen anime that actually adds something to the series over all. From a plot standpoint it wasn't very significant, but it does give you a good quality exploration of Naruto's character like you actually rarely see in the series. Sure you're given some background information on him, and one major aspect of his character has been that he's an orphan. In the main series we're very rarely given any real insight as to HOW this effected him though, largely we're just sort of expected to accept that it has. The rare glimpses we have gotten of this have made for some of the most memorable scenes in the series, like when he sees a boy and his father having fun in Tanzaku town in the first series and later ervously asks Jiraiya if he'd stay and train with him for the day or the scene when he first meets Minato's spirit in his fight with Pain. There was a time when I didn't honestly like Naruto as a character, this changed a bit as the series went on but this actually made pull almost a total 180 on him. I won't go into plot specifics because I don't feel like it, but overall I do have to say well done Kishimoto!
Rurouni Kenshin (TV 1996) Very good
Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection (OAV) Very good
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) Very good
Sailor Moon (TV) Very good
Sailor Moon R (TV) Very good Starts with some slow filler that's occasionally amusing and sometimes isn't. The main arc is worth the wait though, with a new cast of villains, many of which I found more fascinating and which I'd say fairly objectively save for the main baddie are much better fleshed out. Of coarse being Sailor Moon if you really don't like monster of the week series I'd look elsewhere for your next watch. But if you do this is well worth your time, a worthy sequel series for sure!
Sailor Moon R: The Movie Decent
Sailor Moon S (TV) Very good
Sailor Moon S: The Movie Decent
Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie Good
Samurai 7 (TV) Good
Samurai Champloo (TV) Good This might be one of the best examples of an anime that can really get by with cool factor alone. It's a series that will stand out to you and you probably will enjoy for no other reason than it's sheer coolness. I mean, Samurai+Hip Hop....it's every bit as strange yet kick ass as it sounds. Has one of the most memorable anime soundtracks you'll come across some solid visuals. Pretty good series.
(The) Secret World of Arrietty (movie) Good
Serial Experiments Lain (TV) Very good
Sonic X (TV) Very good Bare first in mind, I speak specifically of the subbed version of this series. The dubbed version is pretty much garbage and this is coming from someone who almost always prefers dubs over subs. That being said, Sonic X is a fine Sonic the Hedgehog series. The second series follows the plot of the Sonic Adventure games and Sonic Battle loosely, the rest are original stories. Those in the first season are more or less monster of the week sort of plots, it's really the comedic elements that make it worthwhile for that season more than anything. The more serious and dramatic moments of the later seasons are well executed though and you'll even find a few real tear jerker moments throughout and has one of the more surprisingly bittersweet endings to an anime I've ever seen. The sub is strongly recommended over the dub on the basis that A. The dub is censored and this kills a few of the gag and straight up ruins one of the most powerful moments of the series B. The voice acting in the dub is terrible and this ruins even more great moments and C. the soundtrack for the dub is a HUGE step down from the sub, and that's the kind of thing I personally will only even notice if it makes a big difference.
Soul Eater (TV) Good
Soul Eater Not! (TV) Good
Space Dandy (TV) Very good
Space Dandy Season 2 (TV) Very good
Spirited Away (movie)
Summer Wars (movie) Excellent
Supernatural: The Anime Series (OAV) Good
Sword Art Online (TV) Decent Has some great moments...has some stupid ones (I mean REALLY dumb). Great artwork, has some great action but the characters tend to fall flat and have the personality of rocks at times...other times they don't. Which is weird since you usually can't have both but this somehow manages too. Had potential at least and had a few compelling ideas behind it that didn't pan out.
Sword Art Online II (TV) Very good Remember that potential and those ideas that didn't pan out in the first one? Well here it actually realizes this potential much to my surprise (and I was VARY surprised, literally was waiting for it to drop the ball throughout the whole series, thankfully didn't, fumbled it a few time but always picked it up). Has the same great art and action the first series had, but this time it has some real substance behind it. Explores the ideas of internet identity vs. real world identity well and it's characters are surprisingly well fleshed out. You do have to get past a fairly dumb premise to enjoy this though but if you've seen SAO you owe it to yourself to see this.
Sword Art Online: Extra Edition (special) Not really good Fanservice....that's all that's good about this one lol. Almost gave up on the series after this.
(The) Tale of the Princess Kaguya (movie) Excellent A magnificent retirement piece from Isao Takahata! The Tale of Princess Kaguya is an adaptation of the oldest recorded story of Japan. Essentially I found the central theme of the film to be a somewhat nuanced form of the timeless "culture vs. nature", in which an elderly couple find an infant and decide to raise her as a princess. Although Kaguya is perfectly content with their rural life her father insists that she'll be happiest living as royalty and Kaguya quickly finds this to be a miserable endeavor. Kaguya's unwillingness to conform to what culture at large expects of her is portrayed with just the right amount of subtlety to avoid being preachy, the dream scene where she runs away from the castle casting her extra kimonos away as she dashes to the woods being the most masterfully done in my opinion. I was a little skeptical of it's unorthodox art style at first, but this passed only a few scenes in. Truly is looks like a scroll come to life! Of course I will note that it's obviously very fairy tale-ish, so the significance of it lies in allegory, so don't expect a fantastic narrative or some amazing plot. Not that this is a problem, it's not what this movie is trying to do, just worth a mention.
Tekkonkinkreet (movie) Very good
Tenchi Muyo! GXP (TV) Good
Terror in Resonance (TV) Very good
Tiger & Bunny (TV) Excellent Probably one of the more unique super hero anime I've ever seen (baring in mind there aren't that many of those in the American sense). Has some really good looking visuals and blends 2D and 3D animation fairly well (the actual animation quality leaves some to be desired at points though), a well rounded duo of main characters and a mixed bag of supporting ones. Has a pretty good story behind it although it's ending will leave you wanting more REALLY bad. Has a good plot twist toward the end but this takes focus away from it's fantastic first villain Lunatic. Very Good series but REALLY needs a second season or sequel series.
Tiger & Bunny the Movie: The Beginning Decent
Tokyo Godfathers (movie) Excellent
Trigun (TV) Very good
Trigun: Badlands Rumble (movie) Good
(The) Troubled Life of Miss Kotoura (TV) Good
WATAMOTE (TV) Decent
(The) Wind Rises (movie) Excellent This truly is a film that will have it's place in anime history for several reasons. First being that it's as it stands the final feature length film of the great Hayao Miyazaki. Second because of how meaningful it is. As is typical with Myazaki's works, The Wind Rises has many layers of depth to it. What stood out to me most about The Wind Rises is the idea it explores about how responsible an artist is about what he creates. It's not a question that this film answers per se, but as a creative writing professor of mine once told me "the role of the writer is to explore an idea, nothing more. To give answers is the job of the philosophers, the religions and the scientists.". The reality is the main character, Jiro Horikoshi (based on a real aircraft designer from World War II) is building tools of violence. He sees airplanes as works of art in a sense, and wishes of course for a day when they are used to service people rather than kill them, but he never let's what they are being used for sway him from building his planes. How at fault is he for what people do with them? This is but one idea this movie delves into and there's more to it than I can write in a comment section. I will say some may find it's general historical inaccuracy a problem, and there are those that may take offense to the fact that it is a story about a man who built machines that killed many (Jiro Horikoshi was a real person who built fighter planes). But then again is the film to blame for this or are those who view it this way...what an Einstein-esque idea. Touche Miyazaki.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files (TV) Masterpiece I personally consider this to be the best anime with 100+ episodes that I've seen. Unlike most anime of it's length it's pacing is quite good, in that it never feels as though it fully wastes an episode. Beyond this it has action as good as, or depending on how much gore adds for you, better action than Dragon Ball Z, a great ensemble of characters including some of the most memorable villains I've ever seen, a fantastic English dub for it's time and some great humor. Pretty much everything I look for in a series.
Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie (movie 1/1993) So-so
Yurikuma Arashi (TV) Very good
Zetman (TV) Good
