Adieu Galaxy Express 999 (movie) Masterpiece
Azumanga Daioh (TV) Masterpiece Best described as the "Seinfeld of Anime." Follows the exploits of six girls and their teachers as they go through high school life. No continuing plot to speak of, but includes high amounts of cuteness, hilarity and a several instances of oddness. There was not an episode where I did not laugh at something.
(The) Big O (TV) Masterpiece (dub & sub) Very sleek and stylish show that follows Roger the Negotiator and his android sidekick Dorothy as they seek to unravel the mystery of Paradigm City and its lost memories. Has a lot of influences that include: Batman, Men in Black, Blade Runner, and just about any big robot show out there.
Blue Submarine No.6 (OAV) Masterpiece At the time, it was a breakthrough piece of work due to the heavy inclusion of CG animation. Although there is a lot of sci-fi mumbo jumbo and some characters aren't very developed, it makes up for it with an intriguing storyline and kick-ass action.
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Masterpiece (dub & sub) One of my all time favorites. Follows the lives of four bounty hunters (and their data dog) as they travel through space catching criminals to earn money. Loads of action, comedy and western influences. The continuing story that show the characters' past are told very well and is unforgetable. There is no equal to this show.
Galaxy Express 999 (movie) Masterpiece One of the first anime movies I ever saw. About a young boy who befriends a mysterious woman and travels on a train throughout the galaxy. Memorable characters, great storyline and very imaginative. Leiji Matsumoto is on par with Hayao Miyazaki as one of the most imaginative directors in anime.
