b_shime's Anime

Genres I like the most are probably drama, horror, psychological and thriller, some action ain't a bad thing either. I'm not much into science fiction or romance. But ofcourse if anime has good animations, great story and atmosphere then it doesn't really matter if it's horror or romance.

I know how hard it is to find something really good to watch, or to decide what you wanna watch from all of the tons of animes, series and movies we are offered. So if you have the taste same as mine or even similar you should probably watch anime that I rated as very good or higher and you won't regret it at all. So, I hope my recommendations are helpfull and I hope you enjoy your time watching them.

Baccano! (TV) Decent This anime has many things that I particulary like and genres I personely like watching, but I just couldn't feel the atmosphere or rather the chemistry that should exist between characters. Their relationships and interactions were more retarded and weird then realistic.
Basilisk (TV) Decent Nice combination of action, fighting and tactics and the story ain't bad itself. The atmosphere isn't bad either and you can actually feel the chemistry going on between the characters, enemies and friends which I liked the most but it's not actually my type of anime so my rating is not really that good one.
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad (TV) Very good I must say that I really enjoyed my time watching this anime. The story is interesting, the atmosphere and the music are really good too. Relaxing and enjoyable anime.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Excellent Lelouch Lamperouge reminded me so much of Yagami Light. They are very similar in every way possible and that's probably what I liked the most about this anime. Code Geass has really cool animations, great story and ofcourse great atmosphere too. It really get's you interested in the story and leaves you guessing until the very end.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (TV) Excellent Everything I said about the first part of Code Geass counts for the second part too. It's just one great anime.
Comedy (OAV) Very good Very short and interesting story..
Darker than Black (TV) Very good Darker than Black beside it's cool name offers you entertainment while watching, good fights, interesting story, and great atmosphere above all. Fights get predictable sometimes, but the story itself leaves you guessing until the very end and leaves you interested in what's happening until the very end.
Darker than Black - Kuro no Keiyakusha: Gaiden (OAV) Very good Darker than Black OAV give just a lil more fulfilment to already a great story.
Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor (TV) Very good Just as the first part, great anime. Second part doesn't lose on its quality at all, interesting story again and great atmosphere.
Death Note (live-action movie) Very good
Death Note (TV) Masterpiece The one and only, real masterpiece. Death Note left me speachless. I watched it whole like 4 times and recorded it on my phone so when im bored I just turn on let's say twenty-second epizode and watch it again. Yagami Light is probably best character ever made. The animations are good, the story is great, the atmosphere is just awesome. This anime is so unpredictable and that's what I like the most about it. The entire time it entertains you the best way possible and leaves you trying to guess what's gonna happen next until the very end.
Death Note: The Last Name (live-action movie) Very good
Dragonball: Evolution (live-action movie) Bad Total waste of my time.. stupid beginning and even worse ending. Don't make me comment on the Goku's transformations, just don't!
Elfen Lied (TV) Very good More of a romance then a horror to me but still ... its kinda good I must say. Not just good but very good lol. Interesting story and above all great atmosphere and chemistry between characters. You really get into it after few episodes so not bad, not bad at all. It was worth of my time.
Elfen Lied (OAV) Very good Same rating as the main story from me. Very good anime.
Ergo Proxy (TV) So-so Story is great, animations even better and the atmosphere is one of those that really gets to you, that you can actually feel it while watching but there is a really big BUT here.. I really hated how the main character was so depressed all the time for no particular reason really. The entire time he was so depressed and boring that it killed my mood for watching it, but still I finished it cause of the really interesting story.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (movie) Good
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Very good I liked the beginning here even better than the one in FMA Brotherhood. In first few episodes you meet this little girl Nina and her dog and in this version of FMA they give you more time to get to like those two. And when you do, they make one of the greatest horror scenes ever. But after few episodes the story doesn't follow manga story anymore and it's much weaker then the original one. There are some boring episodes and very predictable too. FMA Brotherhood has much better story and more quallity in ever other aspect too.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) Excellent This is what a good anime should look like. The animations are good, the story is interesting as hell, the atmosphere in this anime is great, the chemistry between the characters is realistic, every comedy scene is funny and every horror scene is kinda really scary and I can fully undrerstand why some people rate this anime as a masterpiece. As the story goes on, the better it gets and the more you wanna know the less sleep you get.
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (TV) Good This is probably the most overrated anime from the ones that I have in my "watching collection". And it can be rated as a masterpiece only if you have never watched any complicated story before which includes intriges, lies, comlicated relationships and life costing decisions.. I can understand that one of the genres here is mystery but why does "the great" thousand years old and cold Gankutsous heart mealts after Albert hugs him, who is Albert to him? Who is Albert even to the Count? Just one of his pieces, thats who, son of his enemy and his ex girl! Count even tried to kill him few days before. Oh, and btw the scene where Franz decides to take Alberts place was so obvious. Why does Fernand Mondego shoots his so loving wife and son and then makes a sacrifice, that could cost him his own life, just to save his son after he shoot him himself? It would make some sense probably if he hadn't shoot him HIMSELF before. It just doesn't make any sense! It does make sense, if you don't think about it. But if you put your mind to it and try to understand some of the things you realize that the author of this anime tried to impress you with kinda good mosaic like animations, and few sentences in french but parts where the story should impress you with its quallity its a genuine disappointment. And when they had a fight with those big robots it looked more like a cheap 3D sex game than a really cool animation LOL. I'm probably a lil to critical but that's because I watched another serie which was inspired by the book "The Count of Monte Cristo" and it's so much better! But still, this anime wasn't a total waste of time, it was kinda good, but still overrated by the most.
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (TV) Decent I saw a lot of great comments and saw really good grades given to this anime, but I can't really understand why. What's funny there wasn't really funny to me and what's sad there wasnt't actually sad to me. Onizuka isn't really my tipe of person so I coudln't probably fancy him through the anime or "get lived into" his role in here. But that's my point of view, maybe you get to like him.
Juon: The Grudge (live-action movie) Very good
Juon: The Grudge 2 (live-action movie) Very good
L change the WorLd (live-action movie) Good
Monster (TV) Excellent Probably best psichological horror series I have ever watched. Just my tipe of anime. Johan is so unpredictable every single time and in one hand really scary too. If someone like that really exited or lived near you, let's just say that you probably wouldn't wanna know him or have anything to do with him :D and especially get in his way :D Great horror! One of the rare few.
Naruto (TV) Good Naruto is anime that I started with my "career" of watching anime. Maybe that's why I can overlook the filler episodes and bring myself to watch it untill this day even if it's such a long anime with so many episodes and I rated it without takeing filler episodes into consideration. Beside the filler episodes and so many episodes (takes to much time) it has a good story, interesting fights and some great characters too like the Akatsuki members. What I liked about it is that no one is spared from being hurt or killed, it has some elements of horror deep within the story and characters have to fight with their inner demons just as they have to fight their opponents and from time to time the fights get you really pumped up for watching it.
Naruto Shippūden (TV) Good Same goes for second part of Naruto story. What's good about it too is that you find a lot about the past, many things come together and you realize many things you didn't understand at first.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) So-so Started as really interesting anime and very promising too, but as the story goes nothing interesting happens anymore. They sit in the underground city and wait for angels to attack them, then they kill them when they attack. And the thing that bothers me the most is that there is one or two episodes (can't remember anymore if it's one or two cause I didn't pay much attention in the end, it was so boring) where only 3 images and only 3 sentences repeat through entire episode. I mean what the hell was that about :S. It was so boring and soo anoying that I wanted to chop my head off. That episode killed my mood so I just couldn't bring myself to watch the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies (I heard from a friend that they were boring too!). I heard that the author of this anime went trough a deep depression while working on the end of it and you can actually feel it as the anime brings to an end, the boredom kills you, the depression actually gets from the monitor to you LOL and I would probably kill myself rather then watch anything that has to do with Neon Genesis Evangelion again!
Oldboy (Korean movie) Very good
Spice and Wolf (TV) Very good As always, I won't repeat what the story says cause you can read it when you click on the anime. I will comment from my own expirience of watching it and I can say that this anime has probably the best atmosphere ever. The story is interesting too and animations are really realistic too. It's more of a romance drama or fantasy, not particulary my type of anime, but still one my favorite few.
Spice and Wolf II (TV) Very good Pretty much same as the first part, story doesn't really lose on its quallity and atmosphere is still great and enjoyable. One of my personal favs.
Sword of the Stranger (movie) Very good
When They Cry - Higurashi (TV) Very good First 4 episodes are the the real masterpiece of horror with great psychological horror elements that catch you by surprise and really scare you, they leave you with your eyes wide open and the feeling of anxiety, feelings of fear and worry even if it's just a series. I mean, they really get to you. It's so sick and damn great work! But the story itself is made of few shorter stories, with the same characters always and the stories come together in the end like a puzzle but I was more confused form 5th episode until the end then I was scared. There is a lot of repeating and the climax of horror is already shown in the first 4 episodes so there is nothing that scary to expect later on. But the ending was impressive again. In the last few minutes of the last episode you realize how the trouble starts every time but it still leaves a lot of things unexplained though. But I only rated it as very good because of the first 4 episodes. You could say they were one of best horror I've seen ever, something you can compare to Juon. Yeah, and I liked the opening song too.
