Yuzo Takada always creates gems in his works and this series was quite fun to watch and as a fan of his work I just had to see it for myself. I loved Nuku Nuku and Blue Seed and I was rather excited to see 3x3 Eyes, the story was awesome and the characters were all fun to watch. |

The follow-up to the original OVA, this also was a good series to watch, I wished that 3x3 Eyes as a whole was made into a full series to get the full scope of the series itself as the manga continues from where the anime leaves off. I consider Yuzo Takada to be an underrated creator as this series didn't get the full attention it deserves and I find Takada to be a better author than someone like Rumiko Takahashi, as he creates likeable heroines overall and writes romantic scenarios better. |

Overall, this series is my favorite of the AU Gundam franchise with a set of likeable characters and having one of the best produced romances I've ever seen in a Gundam series between the character leads. Sadly, this series is underrated and under-appreciated. Despite that fact, I loved the series for having a wonderful story and how the many arcs of the series connected to one another as it led up our protagonists coming into conflict with the Earth Federation and Garrod and Tiffa's close friendship growing into love. The series has an excellent cast of seiyuu, starring such great talents like Wataru Takagi as Garrod Ran, Mika Kanai as Tiffa Adill, Kenyuu Horiuchi as Jamil Neate, and Chieko Honda as Ennil El. However the flaws of this series are within the Frost brothers as antagonists, the possible incestuous relations aside, there is nothing about them that make them good villains and a way too late intro for the awesome Lancerow Dowell. |

The first arc of the OVA was really good especially with Kaneto Shiozawa's performance as the villain, god his voice is damn sexy. Rei Sakuma's performance as Aika was rather sexy too, it's a shame she wasn't cast in the prequels as the title character, considering how versatile an actress she is in the roles she has played. Agent Aika is another example of a fine ecchi series and that the industry is sorely lacking in ecchi with adult characters like what Aika was and what I prefer most. Also, the female characters of the series were drawn really well and looked hot and not trashy like those of modern ecchi anime. I only wish there had been more episodes made of the original Aika series. |

A truly touching and emotional story that tells the tale of young and tragic Misuzu Kamio, a lonely girl who befriends Yukito Kunisaki, a young man who changes her life with their fateful encounter. I particularily liked the past arc with Kannabi-no-Mikoto during Heian era Japan, as it connects her story with Misuzu's. The beautiful animation by Kyoto Animation brings Air to life and the music is beautiful and haunting. Monica Rial does a fantastic job in voicing Misuzu, I enjoyed her performance overall as far as the dub of the series is concerned. |

As the movie is a retcon of the events of the original visual novel, it does show more romance between Yukito and Misuzu as well as for Ryuya and Kanna with the latter being a bit more physical than the TV series did, which I consider a plus for the movie, however the animation by Toei is a minus and isn't on par with the KyoAni adaptation. |

A wonderful bonus for the Air series, expanding a little more on the journey of Kanna and her two comrades/servants on their quest to search for Kanna's mother. The Ryuya x Kanna interactions are cute and funny with her tsundere-like attitude and his snarkiness. Overall I enjoyed the special very much. |

Megumi Hayashibara shines as this spunky android cat girl. However there is drama within this comedy centered around her creator, her creator's son, and her creator's estranged wife. |

It was okay, not great and PA Works didn't adapt it very well IMHO...the series had too many characters and not enough episodes to work with to develop any of them. I was disappointed that Otonashi and Yuri didn't become the main couple, I wasn't fond of him with Kanade because I found that their story didn't make any lack of sense at the end. Kanade herself is rather overrated too and I feel Yuri is the better of the two leads and I definitely feel she is better with Otonashi as they have better chemistry. I hope a remake is made after the game is completed and use the Yuri route for it. |

I feel this had outranked its' predecessor Crest, with an engaging story and various new characters coming to the stage and more screentime for the character of Dusanyu Abriel, I character I find quite to be interesting aside from having Kaneto Shiozawa as his seiyuu. The Bebaus twins make the series even more intriguing with their colorful ways. Also the dub had improved quite well from the first series. Of course the Lafiel and Jinto moments are also a delight to see. |

Another great chapter of the Seikai series with a dark story as Jinto finds himself held prisoner on a chaotic planet and Lafiel struggling between her duties and wanting to save her beloved. The last episode will bring great emotions for their tearful reuinion. Another sad moment is that this anime is the last performance of the late Kaneto Shiozawa, a great seiyuu who brought wonderful characters like Paul von Oberstein of Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Iason Mink of Ai no Kusabi to life. I truly respect Shiozawa for what he brought to anime with his rich voice. |

A truly awesome OVA, it's a shame that it wasn't fleshed out more to be at least a 12 episode series. Gally/Alita is one of the most admirable characters you can find in anime and manga these days and I love how passionate a character she is. I also like that Gally is a very interesting character like Naomi Armitage of Armitage III is and the two of them rank as my top tier favorite cyberpunk heroines of all time. The animation is really gorgeous and a lot of love and hard work went into it. I really want there to be a revival of the series in anime form, there needs to be more love for Battle Angel Alita. |

Blue Seed is truly a wonderful piece of anime, the story and the characters are well-balanced and interesting. I consider Blue Seed far superior than Inuyasha, as both series are similar, why I think this is because the characters are far more likeable and characters anyone could relate to, as well as an endearing romance between the two leads, Mamoru Kusanagi and Momiji Fujimiya. Yuzo Takada is quite the genius when creating a female character, full of heart and courage, and Momiji is one of my favorite characters I admire, as she is selfless and kind. Blue Seed has quite the all-star cast; among them is Megumi Hayashibara, Kazuhiko Inoue, Akio Ohtsuka, Ai Orikasa, and Kotono Mitsuishi, just to name a few. |

This was a so-so sequel, where the cons outweigh the pros, with the lack of having Kinuko Ohmori as the role of Priss, whose performance made Bubblegum Crisis a classic. The animation looked thrown together and wasn't as solid as Crisis' animation. It finalized some things from where Crisis left off, but the way it was handled could've been done better. It was also disappointing that there were no final conflicts between the Knight Sabers and Genom, which would've made Crash a better sequel. |

Bubblegum Crisis is a truly great series for the classic anime genre with its' awesome soundtrack with memorable songs and compelling characters. Talents like Kinuko Ohmori and Maiko Hashimoto truly shine as Priss Asagiri and Reika "Vision" Chang respectively with their hit songs such as "Konya Wa Hurricane" and Say Yes!". The Knight Sabers consisting of Priss, Sylia Stingray, Linna Yamazaki, and Nene Romanova are truly awesome as a team, as they work well together and share a relationship like sisters. |

Doesn't live up to the original by any standard, the Knight Sabers are unlikeable and fail to have the solid teamwork that the original Knight Sabers had, the ADP are useless in sharp contrast to how the ADP were in the original series. The only thing I liked was the solid English dub. The original BGC will always be far better than 2040 in terms of characters, story, music, and enjoyability. |

I found Ceres to my favorite piece by Yuu Watase, I didn't care too much for Fushigi Yuugi and its' characters. Ceres brought forth a likeable cast and a compelling story about twin siblings, Aya and Aki Mikage who have their lives turned upside down on their 16th birthday and tragedies soon follow for the siblings. Amidst it all, young Aya Mikage finds love in the mysterious Touya and the protective Yuuhi Aogiri, and Aya turns out to be a strong heroine, especially dealing with the evil machinations of her manipulative cousin Kagami. The fallen celestial being Ceres becomes an ally to Aya and she learns again from Touya in the kindness of men through Aya who is her host body. Overall, I was impressed with the series and hearing the talented Junko Iwao as Ceres. Tomokazu Sugita is also noteworthy as the villain, Kagami. |

It would be a great anime, if not for the supernatural stuff that it had, I don't think it was a necessary element. So for those who have seen its' spiritual predecessor, Rose of Versailles, I don't reccommend this anime. Otherwise, it was a good series, but not as great as Rose of Versailles. |

I would say Clannad is my second favorite Key series after Kanon as it too tells a heartwarming story of various types of relationships such as ones between family and close friends, and the developing romance between Tomoya and Nagisa. I didn't like the random Fuko appearances after her arc was completed and were unecessary distractions and the anime original episode at the end was rather lame and I personally would've preferred another Tomoyo episode made. My top five favorite female characters include; Nagisa, Tomoyo, Kotomi, Ryou, and Yukine. I didn't really care for Fuko and Mei that much, the latter was too annoying a character to me. |

I have to admit there are flaws in this series that make it far than a perfect series. While I loved the story of Tomoya and Nagisa advancing their relationship to marriage and deciding to start a family of their own, there were certain things that could've made it better. The first episode feels like filler. I was disappointed that Kappei Hiiragi wasn't included in the anime and I feel Kappei's arc should've been used instead of Youhei's, it's too juvenile and is overall bad. I think Kappei's story fits more in the feel of After Story and his developing romance with Ryou is cute. Misae and Yukine's arcs were really good, so that's another great point After Story has and the bittersweet story between Tomoya and his daughter Ushio in her arc. I'm also happy that Tomoya made up with his father in the 19th episode. The Kyou OVA could've been two episodes as well to deliver more Tomoya x Kyou goodness than was given. |

I wasn't too sure about this series at first and thought I would hate it, but once I saw it, it was a pretty awesome action anime and the story was good, although I wish Clare had a female companion instead of that useless boy who I found annoying. It's a shame it's all about moe nowadays as this series never got a second season green-lighted to expand the story, for that's what we need to see more in anime, characters like Clare and her fellow Claymore's in action, not stupid and useless and shitty moe shows and ecchi. |

This was a very enjoyable spinoff of the Code Geass series; from the engaging story, interesting cast of characters, the setting, fantastic voice acting from both the Japanese and English cast, the music score by Ichiko Hashimoto, and direction by Kazuki Akane bring together a unique addition to the Code Geass universe. I have a fondness for anime series set in the Europe, there's a special aesthetic about them that I love. Both Akito the Exiled and Lelouch of the Rebellion are fantastic series and I like both of them equally, however I rated Akito the Exiled a bit higher because the quality of the voice acting is better with the voice actors cast in both the Japanese and English versions. |

Lelouch of the Rebellion is a highly popular show that I feel is deserving of it as the story is extremely well-crafted, has a great set of characters who have their own personal set of values, keeps you engaged with the action scenes and development of the plot, how it builds the relationships shared between characters, and bringing together the many talents who brought this anime to life. This was so much better than Gundam SEED and Gundam 00. For example, I feel that Euphemia is an improved version of Lacus as Euphemia actually has a personality and presented as a true elegant lady. The things I didn't like was the performance of Norio Wakamoto as Emperor Charles, it's one of my disliked performances by him and felt Akio Ohtsuka would've been a better choice and the English voice of Nunnally, I dislike the voice actress who played her as I feel she's a terrible voice actress. Also I wasn't fond of the 2nd OP song of the series either. |

A really good entry into the anime industry with quite a unique and interesting story of a young man who becomes part of the Abh Empire after they conquer his homeworld and his father makes a deal with them as they offer him citizenship into the empire if he surrenders to them, it leads young Jinto to be thrust into aristocratic society as he becomes a Count and an encounter with the empire's young princess Lafiel and together embark on a journey in which they get to know each other and become closer to each other. The series can only be appreciated in the original Japanese dub, avoid the dub at all costs. |

A great piece of old-school anime I enjoyed, from the creator of the Dirty Pair and character designs by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko make Crusher Joe a classic, the animation is excellent for an early 80's anime and it definitely shows it had the movie quality animation. The adventure story of the Crusher team is a thing you can sink your teeth into. So if you're looking for a great old-school anime to watch, Crusher Joe the Movie is one of the titles to see, however it is one of those obscure titles though and it hard to obtain. |

Truly a fantastic series that is just as enjoyable as Rose of Versailles, especially since both shows were penned by the same author and the anime made by the same people. It certainly is a fine sister piece to RoV as it explores a similar vein as the former, but in a school environment, especially in the breakdown of the long-standing elite Sorority that becomes unpopular and unwanted over time by the majority of the student populous. However what sets this series apart from RoV is the heroine, Nanako Misono...someone who is the complete opposite of Oscar, but she develops rather well throughout the series in her conflict against the Sorority's "queen", Fukiko "Miya-sama" Ichinomiya. I also love this series for having complex characters who are more than what they are on the surface, such as Mariko Shinobu and voiced by a great cast of female seiyuu. The one that stands out most is Sumi Shimamoto as Rei "St. Juste" Asaka, as she plays against type as the gender ambiguous character. |

A really good sequel to the previous series, even better with the animation quality that exceeds the TV series, I only wish it was a full TV sequel instead of an OVA because the characters are so fun and exciting, plus a sweet romance story between Shao and Tasuke. Mariko Kouda shines as Shao and she has a cute quality in her voice, it's a waste of her talent that she isn't in more series, as she is one of the better seiyuu with her amazing voice acting and singing talent. |

To me, this was an enjoyable series and I loved the dynamic of the relationship between Chikane and Himeko. What there is between them has many layers and to me I felt that there was something there even before the fateful 8th episode that was a game changer in the series. In looking at the big picture; there was that strong affection Himeko had for Chikane even though Himeko was in a budding relationship with Souma. Chikane succumbed to the darkness within her heart and fell from grace. What some ppl don't understand is that the aim of the story is about redemption and that despite what Chikane has done, Himeko with her pure and gracious heart embraces Chikane with her love...the love she has had since they first met in their current incarnations, of the love that transcended time in their previous lives and beyond. It is through Himeko's love that Chikane finds salvation. This is a truly engaging story about these two characters and how their relationship develops. I love the artwork, music, and KOTOKO's songs very much as well. The only flaws I saw in this anime were the lack of development for characters like Corona and Girochi in their backstories and Reiko was the blandest of the Orochi necks with her backstory and was a badly written character. |

The concept is pretty good and Yohko later on becomes a badass demon slayer despite her boy-crazy attitude but she is a teenage girl after all, but the drawback is the series could've been longer, it was that fun a series to watch and five episodes of Yohko kicking demon ass isn't enough (I won't count the 4th as it is only a music video collection). |

I enjoyed the TV series the best of the anime series revolving around the orginal Dirty Pair of the 80's. I loved the animation and the good action-comedy. I also enjoyed the perfomances of Kyoko Tonguu and Saeko Shimazu as Kei and Yuri, both did a great job together as the Lovely Angels. Awesome songs too, such as "RU-RU-RU Russian Roulette" and "Space Fantasy" by Meiko Nakahara that I love to listen to. |

I love the Flash series with it's great stories and action, with the Mission 1 series being my favorite of the trilogy, I'd say it lived up to the original series. I liked the character designs by Takahiro Kimura of Code Geass and the voice acting of Rica Matsumoto and Mariko Kouda as Kei and Yuri. Sue Ulu and Kim Sevier did well in bringing out the personalities of the characters in their own way. An added treat is that the Mission 2 and 3 series have opening and ending songs sung by Kei and Yuri's seiyuu, something that was never done for the orignal series, and both Rica Matsumoto and Mariko Kouda are one of the greatest J-pop singers out there and I love their songs. |

It was a pretty good anime as far as shonen-ai/yaoi is concerned, but it really doesn't go in depth of the forbidden love story of the two main leads and I felt that aspect should have been covered in its' anime adaptation. |

Animation wise, 1.0 and the following movies are well made and impressive looking, but as a reboot of the Evangelion franchise, a movie series really doesn't do it justice, considering a number of anime fans who only watch new anime and have no inkling of the feel of the original series, the story feels rather rushed. I'll only watch the Rebuild movies in sub format, I hate the fact that many of the original VA's were re-casted and that FUNi rather spend their assets on acquiring crappy ecchi anime shows, rather than acquiring as many of the original VA's for the Evangelion movies. I still think Tristan MacAvery is the better dub voice for Gendo, he gave the character that cold and heartless edge. |

Including the character Mari Makinami Illustrious was a rather good inclusion into the Rebuild canon of the series, but changing Asuka's surname was not. I also don't like is the change of Touji to Asuka as the pilot of the Evangelion Unit 03, that part of the story had more of an emotional impact in the original series because it was Touji that changed Shinji the most for the better by making him a more confident person and there was much more to build on for that tragic event in how it affected Shinji from the original series. Having Asuka in Touji's place makes no sense. I also hate how the Rebuilds are essentially making characters like Touji, Hikari, and Kensuke obsolete in their roles, the three of them were amazing secondary characters and I loved what they shared in their bonds with Shinji and Asuka from the original series, it's lost in the Rebuilds as they feel more like tertiary characters. |

This series does a great job and shows it's not just another Evangelion expy, Fafner creates a wonderful story of how the characters deal with the loss of their comrades in their battle against the alien Festum and each of the teen characters have a unique personality and they all mesh well together as far as their comaraderie is concerned. I especially loved the story of the lead characters, Kazuki and Soushi, and the trials that surface in regards to their close friendship. Fafner is one anime I would reccommend to anyone, it is engaging and full of many emotions. |

This was by far a great and epic anime and one of the best series in the Fate-verse alongside Zero and Heaven's Feel. I like Apocrypha so much better than the original Fate from 2006 and it's much more enjoyable than that overrated UBW and that Prisma Illya loli fanservice garbage series. Apocrypha had an amazing story and a great cast of characters and I like how both factors develop throughout the course of the series. Both Sieg and Ruler are excellent protagonists in how their character arcs are presented and their relationship to one another. I became invested in them and became my favorite characters of the series. They're a much better pair than Shirou Emiya and Saber in the Fate route. Shirou Kotomine and Semiramis are also sweet together as a couple and prove to be great antagonists in their aim to achieve their ambitions. Astolfo is such a an adorable cinnamon roll and he just makes one want to smile and feel good with his sweet personality, he's definitely my favorite trap character. Shakespeare offers to be quite the fun comedy relief with his jests and colorful humor. The best Master/Servant pair is definitely Kairi Shishigou and Mordred, they're really a great match for one another like how Waver and Rider were in Zero (Waver's Rider also happened to be his Servant in a Lesser Grail War in the Apocrypha universe.) I also was fond of Caules and Frankenstein too, I liked how kind Caules was towards Frankenstein and it was cute to see her give flowers to him. Caules is a good brother to his sister Fiore and was glad to see that he would do anything for her. Fiore had a touching bond with Chiron and I loved how faithful and chivalrous he was towards her. The worst character in Apocrypha is Celenike, she was an awful witch and hated how she treated Astolfo. I love all the appearances made by characters like Waver Velvet/Lord El Melloi II and Gilles de Rais, it was great to see both characters in this series. I like the seiyuu that was cast as Justeaze Lizrich von Eizenbern who also appeared in Apocrypha, look forward to see her again in the final HF movie. One thing I want is a movie set in this universe telling Waver's story, I can understand why it wasn't in the series itself because it would've detracted from the main arc surrounding the Great Holy Grail War. Everything about Apocrypha is amazing and if you love Fate shows, this is the one to watch. |

Finally the best route in Fate/stay night is adapted into an anime in the first chapter of a trilogy and all the expectations I had were met in presenting a beautiful masterwork production going into the relationship shared between best girl Sakura and her love interest Shirou. I feel they have the best chemistry overall and director Tomonori Sudou brilliantly provides great development in the aspect of their bond as a couple. Also, I praise the amount of care given Director Sudou in expressing the various facets to Sakura's character in this trilogy and why she is truly a great character who deserves more love. Shinji has better characterization in this route as well, even though he's still a jerkass and there's no excusing the abuse he incurs on Sakura. Lancer and True Assassin's battle was badass and one of the best fight scenes in the entire Fate franchise. "Hana no Uta" by Aimer is a brilliant, powerful, and emotional coda to the first chapter as it expresses the feelings of Sakura through song. The overall stakes are higher here than in the previous routes because it's not just about the Holy Grail War, it's also about the battle of one's own inner darkness as well as one's own beliefs as the trilogy enters into the second and third installments. I look forward to lost butterfly as it will explore deeper into the interpersonal relationships of the characters and how visceral this Holy Grail War will be. I have complete faith in Sudou's direction in how well he understands the source material yet brings his own ideas to give a new perspective to the story. You must watch the previous Fate series before watching the HF movies if you haven't played the original VN. |

There was too many things I found wrong with UBW that I came to dislike this route. Saber is completely useless and does nothing but stand on the sidelines, the worst part is her being bound by Caster and that it ruins what made Saber such a strong character. Illya is truly screwed over by this route because it diminishes her importance in the narrative of the Holy Grail War, also it gives nothing to Sakura.This route doesn't feel like it belongs to Rin as she has no personal story like Saber and Sakura do in their respective routes. UBW is more about Shirou and Archer's story than Rin's. Heaven's Feel does more for Rin than UBW does because HF gives her characterization. Chemistry between Shirou and Rin was also poorly done and didn't do anything to make me ship them. Don't get me started on Shinji's role in this awful route, he's a disgrace in UBW. Shirou fighting against Gilgamesh in the final episodes makes no sense whatsoever; Gilgamesh is a high ranking Servant and to have Shirou battle against with some BS power boost was lame in execution. UBW fails on so many levels in terms of plot development and how the characters are poorly handled. The only thing I like is the appearance of Waver Velvet/El-Melloi II in this anime. |

Created by Toshihiro Hirano, this was a shojo-ai series I didn't mind watching, as I don't normally watch anything with girl x girl content. What I enjoyed about it was, being a fan of 80's anime, also was gripping story about a young girl, Nagisa Kanou being thrown into circumanstances she didn't want to be a part of, but understands what she wants to protect and becomes a likeable character later on and is a faithful partner to the heroine, Iczer-One. The story is dark in nature and scary at some points. The theme songs are great to listen to and filled with amazing beats. This series is a title I would reccommend as a part of noteworthy 80's anime to watch. |

Although it only animated the first arc of the epic story by Mamoru Nagano, the fil did a beautiful job in creating the magnificent world that is The Five Star Stories, the animation is by far quite beautiful and stunning by cel animation standards and one of my favorite 80's anime titles. I loved the cast they chose to voice the characters such as Ryo Horikawa as Ladios Sopp/Amaterasu no Mikado, Maria Kawamura as Fatima Lachesis, Norio Wakamoto as Voards Viewlard, Rei Sakuma as Fatima Clotho, and Kazuhiko Inoue as Colus III, all who are noteworhy seiyuu who have provided many voices over the years and performers I respect greatly. Yoko Nagayama provides the beautiful theme song, "Hitomi no Naka no Far Away", a song I listen to often and reinforces my opinion of the greatness of 80's anime songs. |

As a fan of older anime, Gall Force- Eternal Story is a reccommmended piece for anyone to get a feel of the classics, it tells the story of seven young women on a journey to complete a mission and the sacrifices that were made in order to complete it as they had come under attack by an enemy force. Rabby, the main heroine, is the reason why I love 80's anime heroines, as they are strong-willed and full of spirit. With character designs by Kenichi Sonoda of BGC fame, makes Gall Force even more enjoyable as well as hearing the talents of Naoko Matsui, Hiromi Tsuru, and Maria Kawamura, just to name a few. Songs are sung by Kahoru Kohiruimaki, Kiyomi Suzuki, and LOOK...all performers who have sung songs for the City Hunter series. |

The new characters are as likeable as the previous cast and I enjoyed the second part of the Gall Force saga. |

Taking place after Rhea, continues the story of Sandy Newman and her allies on Earth and the introductions of the Mars-based characters, who are called upon to assist Earth's Australian base, in their fight against the MME. Yet things are compromised when the higher command on Mars decide that destroying the base completely is the only way to destroy the enemy, which means the death of innocent lives in its' wake. The action remains intense and the story connects to the Solonoid/Paranoid arc as the events taking place are the fears that Catty Nebulart stated back in the 3rd OVA. I truly enjoyed this arc the best as it has a great number of characters and telling a story of human courage in the face of adversity, especially Sandy who like her predecessor Rabby will go the distance in any endeavor. |

Quite a fantastic series I enjoyed, from the heavy political drama, the intrigue surrounding the Gowa Clan, to the mysterious connection of the leads Yushiro and Miharu. I felt the elements were blended well together and nothing was out of place. Sure it may have been dull to some people, but as far as I'm concerned, this series was really truly entertaining with the various twists and turns with the plot. I also loved the realistic looking character designs and the overall feel of the series was like a live action series, which is a rare quality that some anime has. I feel Gasaraki was one of the best Ryosuke Takahashi titles. |

I think Mamoru Oshii's best work is still Patlabor for me, at least that franchise is very engaging with it's interesting characters. |

The movie was great visually and also quite realistic in it's depiction of how war affects the civilian population without sugar-coating anything. However it just doesn't appeal to me subjectively and starting out the movie with the fate of the protagonist ruins the emotional aspect of the tragedy that later happens with he and his little sister, and it practically leaves a predictable outcome. If Seita's fate was revealed at the end rather than the beginning, then I would've given it a better score. Also, I couldn't place myself in Seita's shoes...he did irresponsible things and I felt sorry for Setsuko...but that aunt of theirs carries the blame as well for her selfishness too. Overall, this was a movie I can only see once and never again. |

How can anyone not like this OVA, everything about it was entertaining, enjoyable, and truly deserving of the mantle of a masterpiece, the story of a timid and unsure young Noriko Takaya and her rise to becoming a top notch pilot among those like her onee-sama Kazumi Amano and Jung Freud makes Noriko an excellent role model to those who have a hard time in believing in themselves and that through your own power and effort, you can accomplish anything and that is what she represents, thus why the nickname for this series is called "Aim For The Top!". With a top-notch soundtrack by Kohei Tanaka and character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto add to the beauty of Gunbuster. So I truly reccommend Gunbuster to everyone and for those who hadn't seen it, see it! |

It could've been better, the flaws I saw was Gaw Ha Leccee defecting, it seemed like a waste to have her switch sides only for it to be for nothing as her crush on Daba was one-sided only and for her to desert the Poseidal Army for the sake of being close to him seems like a dumb reason to defect. I wish Tomino would've paired her with Gavlet Gablae, he would've been a less annoying character if he was with her instead of drooling for the useless character of the series, Quwasan Olibee, also both could've served as an antithesis for Daba and Amu. I wasn't too happy with the ending either, so I'm glad that Mamoru Nagano corrected the story by creating his own in the form of The Five Star Stories, which became his version of L-Gaim. |

My score reflects the 1st season and the two OVA's, the series is 7/10 and the two OVA's are 3/10 for a median score of 5/10. The overall concept is promising with establishing a hierarchy for the Devil Classes and crafting the individual abilities that each of the main characters possess, plus adding conflict in the story against foes like Raynalle and Rizer Phenex. The worst part is the OVA's as they are just shameless fanservice aimed just for titillation purposes. Rias is the best girl of the series, she is what makes this series good to watch. Issei is just another run-of-the mill harem lead, he's at his worst when he's got boobs on the brain and those stupid OVA's show how idiotic he is when in that state. I prefer guys like Lord Marksman and Vanadis' Tigre, at least he has a decent personality and actually deserves his harem and best girl Elen. Ryo Horikawa should've been cast as Issei's father, considering Horikawa himself played an ultra perverted character like Issei in Ghost Sweeper Mikami as Yokoshima. Shizuka Itou's performance as Akeno sounded too much like she was impersonating similar type characters voiced by Yumi Takada. |

I'm not a fan of modern anime ecchi, but this was an exception and I found it a very enjoyable and engaging series. The characters were well-crafted and show a considerable amount of development (except for Marikawa though, she's my least favorite of this series). I have no idea why a second season hasn't been made yet, it should have one. This series is more promising than that terrible and god-awful High School DxD, when it comes to ecchi leads I prefer Takashi over that idiotic Issei...at least Takashi is a character who isn't driven solely on his hormones and is quite the badass. I definitely consider this series a top favorite series of mine for this current decade and I would say it's a shelf-worthy title for those who love action shows, ecchi, and zombies...but also for the story in how Takashi and his group fight tooth and nail in surviving this new world after the old one fell. |

This series is the pinnacle of pyschological anime along the lines of Evangelion and I feel this is one of Taniguchi's best works, not like the trainwreck that is Code Geass he would later direct. |

Kanon is my personal favorite of the Key series as it not only hosts my favorite character of the series, Nayuki Minase, whom is my favorite anime character of all time, but also has a good balance of happy and sad moments, something I truly enjoy when watching a dramatic anime. Kyoto Animation did a far superior job in animating the series aside from the 2002 Toei counterpart and offered a more "pleasing to the eyes" experience in watching Kanon. Another bonus is casting Kyon's voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita in the role of Yuuichi Aizawa, the male lead. I'd say the role of Yuuichi is my favorite role that Sugita has played in his career. As a fan of Mariko Kouda, I loved her performance as Nayuki Minase, giving quite a cute and moe performance. I only wish there was more of Kanon, as with these set of characters, I enjoyed their stories the most and wanted a continuation to see what would happen next in their lives. In the Kanon vs Clannad debate, I consider Kanon to be superior to Clannad in terms of storytelling, as Kanon doesn't rely on forced drama, bad plot devices, deus ex machina, and the nonsensical fairy tale ending that Clannad is guilty of, everything in Kanon flows naturally and all the elements fit well together. |

This was a great adaptation by ufotable and far more enjoyable than Hanamaru which really doesn't do anything for me. What I liked most about ufotable's adaptation is that it's plot driven and focuses on quality over quantity considering there's so many characters from the original game. Honestly there's only about a 1/4 of the huge cast that are memorable. I feel they chosen the best characters as the main cast and I like the dynamics shared between them. The delivery of the voice acting by the seiyuu cast is well directed especially in action scenes and in emotional scenes. Another great thing about Katsugeki is it included the Citadel's master, Saniwa having an actual presence to communicate with the Touken Danshi to assign them their missions. Hideyuki Fukasawa's score for the series and the songs performed by Soma Saito and Kalafina are amazing. |

I loved this series very much as it told a touching, yet haunting story of the mysterious girl known as Key, a girl who believes she is a robot searching to become human and along the way begins a hard and emotional journey in her quest. The dub is well played by the Ocean Group voice cast and any role that David Kaye does is pure gold, in this he takes on the role of Tomoyo Wakagi, Key's equally mysterious guardian. The dub songs are really excellent as well and I prefer those over the original, although I enjoy both Junko Iwao and Nicole Oliver's renditions of Key's songs. The only small criticism I have is Sho Hayami voicing Ajo, it felt out of place considering his villain roles are usually sexy and seductive, which I love about Hayami, and would've been a better if Ajo had been voiced by seiyuu like Unshou Ishizuka or Akio Ohtsuka. |

ADV disregarded the fact of it being a yaoi title when they produced the dub. Even so, it's still a terrible anime and a title that should never have been licensed alongside the other trash titles ADV got like Girl From Phantasia, Ninja Resurrection, and Tekken: The Motion Picture and invested in better OVA's that should've been licensed like Utsunomiko or Hi-Speed Jecy. |

This is a fanservice show done right as it has a fantastic plot revolving around the two leading heroines, Eclair and Lumiere in their storyline throughout the series and their development. Both I feel are strong characters and they have a great partnership. It also has a great cast of supporting characters, although there could've been more development for characters like Viola and Cesario, An-Ou and Un-ou, and the connection between Armbrust and Mercredi could've been explored too. A shame that this series is so underrated. |

Seen as a Gundam expy, I felt this series was better than Gundam in some way, from the characters and how they developed them, I felt Dragonar is overlooked because it is seen as a Gundam expy, heck many non-Gundam titles have been overlooked and ignored, such as Ideon and Layzner. The teamwork of the three leads is quite excellent and I liked how they worked together as a team rather than Judau Ashta and his teammates from the previous year's Sunrise series, ZZ Gundam. I don't get where the idea sprang from that Meio Plato is a Char expy, he's more like the prototype to 0083's Anavel Gato instead, as their personalities are similar in some respect. The only thing I wished that the series did was not concentrating so much on the Gon Jem arc and multi task by telling how Meio's three underlings came to find him after he crash landed to Earth and how he formed his own faction. |

KOR is the best 80's rom-com IMO, with a variety of fun and well written characters, excellent slice-of-life scenario, and a truly sexy and cool female lead in the form of Madoka Ayukawa. I truly reccommend this series to anyone looking for light-hearted rom-com anime, and I myself will always enjoy KOR. The set-up is quite interesting as the love triangle is centered around two best friends with the male protagonist, Kyosuke. Most of the time the female characters are rivals from the get-go and have no kind of relationship (i.e. friends, siblings, and the like), so when I first saw KOR, the way they presented the love triangle was refreshing. Kyosuke's sisters are rather cute with their antics and I would definitely say they are another example of 80's anime moe characters, even Hikaru herself is moe. The songs are to die for as they represent what made 80's anime so great, especially Hideyuki Nagashima's "Orange Mystery". Overall, this series was pure enjoyment and I loved every minute of it. |

Please note that these episodes come before the climatic events of the first movie which bring Kyosuke's love triangle to an end when he chooses his one true love. The OVA episodes are those that are supposed to supplement the TV series, sort of like how things are made today with extra episodes made to compliment the TV series, rather than act as a sequel. These episodes are pretty good and are a fine compliment to the TV series, my personal favorites are the first episode and 5-6, and the 8th. These episodes strongly hint at the things to come in the movie that Kyosuke and Madoka are meant to be and that the chemistry between them is strong. |

The light heartedness of the TV series and OVA's comes to a halt as the first movie takes a serious turn when Kyosuke is ready at long last to stop being indecisive and choose the one he wants to be with, for those who know the TV series and the OVA, he is more into Madoka than he is of Hikaru, I can understand where he is coming from by waiting so long to choose, seeing how sensitive a girl Hikaru is. Hikaru's stalker behavior after being rejected may come off as annoying, but it is understandable considering Kyosuke took so long to come out with his true feelings, so if anyone is guilty it is him. This film also adds a special "Touch" as it shows a movie within a movie as one of the scenes shows a clip from one of the "Touch" movies. |

It fails to live up to the other LOGH anime in terms of animation and it didn't even bother using the original seiyuu for the characters and used other seiyuu. Ryo Horikawa and Masashi Hironaka will always be the true voices of Reinhard and Kircheis respectively, not Hikaru Midorikawa and Takehito Koyasu, the seiyuu used for Reinhard and Kircheis in the Golden Wings OVA, so who knows what the heck people were thinking by using other seiyuu instead of the originals. The only thing I got out of it was the Reinhard x Kircheis goodness. |

This is a good series as it tells the story of a group of individuals who come together to form a baseball team and along the way the original Little Busters! quintet form new friendships. I'm glad that anime these days are still able to make heartwarming stories that deliver strong messages such as friendship, over-coming difficult obstacles, and believing in one's self. I think the strongest arcs from what I have seen so far are Mio, Haruka, and Kanata's. Komari's was "meh" and Kud's seems too melodramatic and I find her character overrated IMHO, and Kud's was the one I hated most. I also enjoyed how much Kengo changed as a character and the final two episodes of the first season made him my favorite male character of the series. The dub cast is terrible, so just stick to the sub. I would've preferred Chris Patton as Kyosuke, David Matranga as Kengo, Andrew Love as Masato, Hilary Haag as Komari, Jessica Boone as Yuiko, and Monica Rial as Kud...then I think the dub would be perfect...Chris Ayres is a hack ADR Director and should've gone to either Kyle Jones or Steven Foster. |

First off, it really irks me when those elitists say this anime "doesn't exist", it lacks merit and sounds arrogant in my opinion. That type of sentiment might as well apply to other works you dislike as well just because of how it was made that isn't to your liking. I didn't like FSN's UBW route and its' adaptations, but I wouldn't deny its' existence. I did enjoy Tsukihime's anime adaptation, it was well made and the art reflects the tone of the series, plus if the series did adapt Takeuchi's designs to the letter when the Tsukihime anime was made, I feel it would look bad. Takeuchi improved his designs in later years...so I did like how the characters were designed in Tsukihime's anime adaptation. Another quality I liked about this anime is the development in the relationship between Shiki and Arcueid and how it progressed to intimacy between them in their romance, which is far more than what the anime adaptations of UBW ever did for Shirou and Rin. The music was excellent and it meshed well with the atmosphere of the series, plus the melodic ED song by Ciel's seiyuu Fumiko Orikasa. I feel the seiyuu that were cast in the Tsukihime anime were better in the roles of the characters than the ones cast for Carnival Phantasm. |

This is truly a unique take on the Macross franchise as they take the story of how a song can affect someone and turn it upside down into a dark desire as shown through the eyes of the virtuoid idol Sharon Apple, who is the antethesis to individuals like Lynn Minmay and Mylene Flare Jenius. It also shows a very adult love triangle and is shown on such a mature level that is rare among common love triangles in anime where it's mostly shown as juvenile. Also, you get the story of man vs machine which becomes the main focus of the story by the final OVA. One minor thing I wished became of the Plus franchise is a separate OVA's detailing the past of the three main characters, such as an episode when the trio were together to the event that led to their break-up and espisodes dedicated to each of the three individually before the main story. |

Little by little, they learn the real reason of why they were summoned that will take a toll on them emotionally, yet at the same time develop a close friendship with each other. This is the best magical girl series I've seen as it moved me in such a way that no other mahou shoujo series did, so I truly reccommend this series to anyone who loves a great story and magical girls. |

I equally loved the second season as much as I did the first as it brings our heroines back to Cephiro and aside from Fuu who already has Ferio, who has become a prince, both Umi and Hikaru also find love in the second season, with Hikaru she is torn between Lantis, the younger brother of Zagato and Eagle Vision and Umi, who loves the handsome mage Clef and is loved by Ascot, whom uses magic to make himself older for her. So I love the new romances that the second season offers as well as the new set of allies for our protagonists. As this series is directed by Toshihiro Hirano, the anime only character Nova is modeled after Iczer-One, from his Iczer series. The only thing I didn't like is the new villain and the return of that useless bitch Alcyone, who should've just died in the first season, seeing her continually moan about her unrequited love was a chore. |

Seen as Ah! My Goddess' expy, I seem to prefer this series over the former because I felt Shaorin Shugogetten was much more likeable and endearing in a sense than Belldandy because of how Shao has some flaws in her character, such as rushing into judgement over matters she doesn't understand, how lively she is and doesn't stick around Tasuke's house all the time like some housewife. Tasuke isn't the average MC by any means as he is decisive from the get go as his relationship with Shao grows and despite all the annoyances with romantic rivals he is sure of himself and wants to always be with Shao. Both Mariko Kouda and Daisuke Sakaguchi shine as the leads and are cute together playing a romantic couple( I wish they were in more anime together). If any series deserves a remake, it is this series, just as long as Kouda and Sakaguchi reprise their roles. |

This is one of the best shoujo series I have seen, from the incredible drama to the development of Yuu and Miki's relationship, to the two as individuals. Miki is rather realistic as a character as she isn't a goody-goody like Tohru Honda of Fruits Basket, but is a girl who can get selfish, jealous, and moody at times (hey isn't every teenage girl that is going through all the trials and tribulations of life?). I felt those flawed aspects balanced well with her sweet, caring, and sensitive nature she possessed. Ryotaro Okiayu and Mariko Kouda are a great pair when they work together, and their roles as Yuu and Miki prove that. I wished that Kouda was Sanae of Clannad, she would've been great in the role and I love it when Kouda and Okiayu play a couple. |

This is more like Marmalade Boy Episode 00 than an actual "movie", as most of today's anime gets an extra episode to supplement the actual series, this is more like an extra episode that touches the basic outline of Yuu Matsuura's POV of when his parents decide to separate and how he encounters his future love interest, Miki Koishikawa, whom will become his housemate in the actual series when his parents and hers decide to live together, even after switching partners. It was pretty good as it goes into how Yuu felt in the beginning before coming to terms with his parents separating as seen in the actual series. |

It surely is a fun and enjoyable series to see, especially with a cute character like Ruri Hoshino who definitely carries the series with her incredible charisma for someone so young. If you hadn't seen this anime, watch it, for you'll be entertained as I have. The only flaws I saw were that the animation direction could've been more solid and consistent and a certain character didn't have to die so soon. Nozomi did this series justice with a great box set and definitely a shelf-worthy title. |

To understand this movie, you would need knowledge of the The Blank of Three Years VG, which could've easily been adapted as a second TV season which bridges the events between the end of the series and the movie, but never did. |

So if you hadn't seen this anime, see it, it is a must for any fan of anime. |

Good points I liked about The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is that it is a funny series to watch when you need a good laugh. It also has a colorful cast of characters, with Yuki Nagato being a personal favorite of mine, I really liked her seiyuu's performance and Minori Chihara did an excellent job. Kyon's voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita also did a fine performance in bringing out Kyon's charisma. Kyoto Animation's exquisite animation brought out the beauty of the series. However the concept surrounding Haruhi Suzumiya's character isn't the finest point of the series, she usually wants to do things that benefit herself and no one else and no other characters were brought forth that question the validity of Haruhi's existence, such as is she really doing society justice with her way of doing things. What she wants out of life isn't what all other people want, but she'll shove what she wants down other's throats, regardless how they feel. I didn't really like Yuko Goto's performance as Mikuru and one of her character songs she sang, she sounded rather breathy and certain English cast members casted sounded rather sterotypical of the character types they play in other anime, such as Johnny Yong Bosch as Itsuki and Stephanie Sheh as Mikuru. I enjoyed Crispin Freeman's performance as Kyon and Michelle Ruff as Yuki. Wendee Lee brought forth a great performance as Haruhi and I liked how she played the character. |

The things I didn't like about it was that it didn't have interesting female characters, I didn't feel invested in Domon and Rain's romance, the final battle was cliche as hell, and Wong was just a lackluster character who is all talk and no show and a weak antagonist and is just as one-dimensional as a mere Saturday morning cartoon villain. |

I rated the first series as decent due the last part of the series not really appealing to me and rather dull at times, I would've liked it better if there was romance between Amuro and Sayla, and not so much so Amuro thinking about Lalah, I also wasn't fond of Char and Lalah as a couple either. When it comes to character romance, Tomino wasn't good in that category, not until F91 with Seabook and Cecily in which he did a better job. Another thing I didn't like was the cliche battles where the only one who was saving the day, Amuro, was bailing everyone out of a jam in the first half. It would've been better if Sayla was going out as a pilot early on to where she and Amuro could work together, so the battles wouldn't have felt so bland.

This was a disappointing sequel, there were so many things wrong with it makes it worth not investing in the series as a whole. Too much melodrama, horrible antagonists, characters going batshit because over stupid things (glares at Billy), too many predictable and flashy battle scenes overpowering any positive story and character development, and being a complete train-wreck in comparison to how well made the first season was. Lyle doesn't deserve to use the name Lockon, the name should only be associated by his much greater twin brother Neil. Marina became a useless character after she was given character traits reminiscent of SEED's Lacus. My favorite ship Allelujah x Soma/Marie getting together and the character development of Feldt Grace were the only good things about S2. Overall this series fails on so many levels and doesn't deserve the high ranking it has, it's a terrible series. |

Mina Carmine was a s**t character, complete Mary Sue and all she was was a Nena Trinity lookalike minus the bitchy personality. The only good thing about this movie was at least Saji and Louise's relationship is back on the right path after the travesty of what the second season did to them.
When looking at the Wing and 00 franchises as the latter is often compared to the former, Wing still is the far superior work. 00 just crashes and burns with a mediocre second season and a garbage movie. The Endless Waltz movie accomplished much more than 00's movie ever could. |

Overall, this OVA was really disappointing with lackluster main characters. |

For Gundam F91, I enjoyed this particular new chapter in the Universal Century timeline and the new set of characters. The film has quite the romantic appeal to it with the setting of the story and music score, as well as the melodic ending theme "Eternal Wind" by Hiroko Moriguchi. The music score and story has a Star Wars-type feel to it with the Crossbone Vanguard theme sounding very much like The Imperial March and the masked man, Carozzo "Iron Mask" Ronah being Gundam's closest representation of Darth Vader. I liked the atmosphere of the film and the animation was in excellent quality from the time of the film's release in 1991. The voice acting on both Japanese and English dub are equally enjoyable and the decision to have Bang! Zoom! Entertainment dub the project was a good decision as the company has a great lineup of voice actors. The things it lacked was the fact F91 was originally going to be produced as a 50-episode series and disputes caused it to be condensed into a two-hour movie, which was disppointing due to the film having plot holes such as the circumstances of Annemarie's defection. If it couldn't have an actual TV series, I would've been satisfied if F91 were given at least a 12 or 13 episode OVA, such as what Gundam 0083 got, with a film to finalize things. |

I still feel this series is overrated, but at least I can say that Rau Le Creuset was an interesting antagonist with a threatening edge in his character. He was much better than that lame-ass Wong of G-Gundam, the underwhelming Frost brothers of Gundam X, and the abysmal Ribbons of 00. As much as I dislike Flay, she's more tolerable than s***ty Quess of CCA, Nina of 0083, and Nena of 00. Even though they're siblings, I liked the chemistry of Kira x Cagalli, and would've liked them paired together if the sibling factor wasn't an issue. The chemistry was lacking in the Kira x Lacus pairing and Kira x Flay was a mistake that should've never happened. I was fond of Athrun x Lacus, they were sweet together and it's sad that the war and the rift that happened between their fathers broke them up. |

Both Stargazer and Astray have much better characters than any of the lame ass characters of the main SEED series. |

The characters are written quite well and the plot is excellent, Harutoshi Fukui did an excellent job in crafting the story, so much better than Tomino. Banagher is an amazing protagonist in how he develops through the bonds he forges with those who help him grow as a character. I actually like Full Frontal better than Char, he feels less idealistic than him. The English dub is amazing and well cast, the best performance by Stephanie Sheh as Mineva/Audrey and this role is my favorite one by her. |

Aside from X, Wing is another favorite Gundam series of mine. I enjoyed the quality of the story and the various types of characters. I don't agree with those who see these characters as bland, as I see them as three-dimensional, each of them showing different facets to their character through their interactions with other characters, plus in reading their background stories through the Episode Zero manga. Another thing is that the series improved in areas where UC had failed to deliver, especially with the CCA-like arc near the end involving Zechs and I feel his final duel against Heero was superior to Char and Amuro's final duel. Obviously aside from the sales of toys from Wing that led to the success of the series stateside, there was something about Wing that made it the most successful Gundam series that anime fans loved. |

Tomino must not know how to multitask because at the same time he was doing this series, he got the green light for Char's Counterattack, and I'm sure he was devoting most of his time to the latter instead of making sense out of ZZ. The only saving grace it had was the moe-ness of Elpeo Puru, who I came to sympathize with and Kamille and Fa having their happy ending. |

I facepalmed myself, Tomino trolls us with a selfish and annoying little bitch in the form of Quess Paraya, the Glemy Toto expy Gyunei Guss, and Katz Kobayashi expy Hathaway Noah. All three of them didn't add anything good to the movie and deserved to be written off the plot. They zap away screen time that should've been used in building up from what became of Char after the events of Zeta. The juvenile scene involving Amuro and Char after the former pushes the latter off his horse because of both men blaming the other for Lalah's death, after that I lost all respect I had for them considering they had gotten along so well in Zeta. I still feel Lalah was just written in to add pointless conflict for Char and Amuro, she was never soldier material and had no business in being involved in the war anyway.The one thing I hate about rivalries between men is when it's over a woman. All-in-all, this was a disappointing movie and all it had going for it was the animation quality and Nanai, Nanai was the only new character I liked in the movie. I felt sorry for Chan at the end because of what that stupid Hathaway did. |

I liked this chapter of the OVA spinoffs the best because of the incredible amount of combat realism and the part of me that loves a good romance story, this time a story between a male Federation soldier and a female Zeon pilot, whom have grown to love each other in the face of war. The characters and the action were quite awesome, so go watch this series if you haven't already. The dub is quite excellent as well with a great cast of VA's including Steve Cannon as Shiro Amada and Emily Brown as Aina Sahalin, whom were also in Outlaw Star previously as Harry MacDougall and Melfina respectively. |

After watching Turn A Gundam, my feelings toward Zeta have changed quite significantly as I now think Turn A is the best work Tomino has done in regard to the Gundam shows he personally was involved in. I see Zeta's flaws and isn't really the top tier masterpiece many make it out to be. The reason for this is because there are quite a few characters that are face-palm worthy who are either useless and dumb (Katz and Rosamia) who waste screen-time that could've been used for better characters, and even worse is that this series still has kid sidekicks and with all that was going on, they had no reason to be there. I also dislike how the US release didn't have the OP & ED songs intact and that the dub wasn't done by the original VA's. It would've been nice to see more of Haman in the Zeta series because her character had depth and there could've been an episode or two dedicated to her complicated past with Char. I didn't like that Moaur was killed off and not Jerid, her character had more potential to be a viable nemesis for Kamille, with Jerid it was too juvenile. There are good points such as this series showing Char and Amuro at their finest, as well as Amuro's new relationship with Beltorchika being another fine point in the series. The original Japanese dub also had the finest VA work ever with a great cast with many fine talents that the 80's had. |

I particuarily enjoyed watching Evangelion, due in part to having dysfunctional characters take on the task of protecting mankind from its' enemy, the Angels, something rarely seen in anime, as most characters are level-headed and considered normal. To judge the series and say the cast is unlikeable is an unfair assessment, so I considered the bigger picture, understood the volatile nature of their personalities, and looked at the positive side of the characters. Side characters such as Kensuke Aida, Touji Suzuhara, and Hikari Horaki provide a balance for the main characters like Shinji and Asuka and bringing out the pair's good side. With that, I consider myself to be a proud Evangelion fan. |

I loved this movie very much when it comes to Hikaru's character as she resurfaces from being the rejected one and is able to accept the relationship Kyosuke has with Madoka and has a bright career as an actress. |

Seen as a similar series to Rurouni Kenshin, it shows the events of the lives before and during the Ikeda-ya Incident in the POV of the Shinsengumi as our antagonists, although it does stretch actual history as the actual historical Tetsunosuke Ichimura didn't come on board as a Shinsengumi member until the groups last days, but regardless it was an entertaining series that offered plenty of comedy and drama as well as awesome samurai action. I do reccommend this series, but do see the 2004 NHK Taiga Drama Shinsengumi! series in order to get the most out of their story, which tells it as historically accurate as possible. The only gripe I have is the lack of the character of Kogoro Katsura, whom is the most essential person in the Choshu Clan, and having him act as a foil for Yoshida just as Yamanami was for Hijikata in the Shinsengumi would've added a special touch. |

I loved this film by Satoshi Kon and it is one of my favorite works done by Junko Iwao, who performs as the leading character, Mima Kirigoe(I wished they let her did Mima's singing, Iwao is among the best anime singers, alongside Megumi Hayashibara and Mariko Kouda IMO.) I also loved how the film made you think for yourself and not have everything explained to you. From multiple viewings, I was able to grasp what was going on and made my own conclusions. This movie isn't for everyone as it goes into graphic detail of sexuality and of stalkers in general and the life of an idol isn't always so pretty. |

This is one of the finest works of the Ranma series as a whole, especially with all the sweet Ranma x Akane moments that truly do bring out the best in their relationship. Their duet song sung by their seiyuu that was used as the first ending is the icing on the cake as it speaks volumes of the depth of how Ranma and Akane love one another, but it serves another purpose as sing their story of how it all began and how over time it developed into something more. "The Ballad of Ranma and Akane" is my all-time favorite duets sung by an anime couple. The songs sung by Female Ranma, Akane, Shampoo, Nabiki, and Kasumi who make up the DoCo group are really fantastic to listen to. The animation is dazzling for a 90's OVA and truly beautiful alongside the excellent direction of Junji Nishimura as series director. This is definitely a shelf-worthy title for any fan of rom-com anime and Rumiko Takahashi fans. |

Looking at the big picture, the original anime was not directed well and had too many filler episodes. The manga's ending is just lazy and unsatisfying, just as worse as what Bleach's ending has. What I feel needs to be done to make this series better is who the character leads, Ranma and Akane get together with, with each other or Ukyo for Ranma and likewise with Ryoga for Akane. |

Before I have ever seen Record of Lodoss War, Elemental Gelade was my all-time favorite fantasy anime, then after I finally saw this animated classic, Record of Lodoss War dethroned Elemental Gelade. Record of Lodoss War is one of those rare anime shows that should be watched by everyone as it has a fantastic story, beautifully designed characters for a cel-animated work with Madhouse doing the animation production, a diverse cast of characters, endearing romances (especially between the leads Parn and Deedlit), enchanting music by Mitsuo Hagita who provided the excellent BGM for Gundam 0083, a great line-up of seiyuu in the roles of the characters...key favorite performances being Takeshi Kusao as Parn, Yumi Touma as Deedlit, Akira Kamiya as Ashram, Shuuichi Ikeda as King Kashue, and Hideyuki Tanaka as Slayn with many more. Take note that the 2nd episode precedes the 1st and the 1st precedes the 6th chronologically in the story, but don't let that take away from the experience, also only watch in sub format with the original Japanese, the dub of the series is terrible and doesn't do this incredible anime justice. I was truly enchanted and impressed with this OVA and would be among my Top 10 most recommended anime series. |

After watching this highly regarded series, I didn't see what was so spectacular about it. What I didn't particularly like about it was how bland Anthy was as a character, all she was to me was a one-dimensional plot device with nothing interesting about her and acted more like an object to be possessed rather than a person, the male/male fan-service with Akio and his car was cheesy, the Black Rose arc was rather weak and pretentious, the occasional silly Nanami-based episodes felt unnecessary to the main story and would've served better as specials maybe, and the ending wasn't that great. Although, the positive things I can say about it is that Utena is a solid protagonist, Akio is a great foil for her and the connection between them was seductive, and Nanami showed great development to where I wasn't so annoyed with her as I had earlier. |

This starts the new story of the Gall Force metaseries with a new cast that bring a certain deja vu of the previous cast, such as Sandy Newman being quite a lot like Rabby of Eternal Story, watching the first three episodes is a must before seeing this episode, as this connects to the third episode as eons had passed since the times of the Solnoid/Paranoid Wars. I was rather pleased with the introduction of the new chapter and with the dystopian setting and the Bubblegum Crisis type feel it had with the human cast in a conflict against mechanical beings, whom are a more dangerous enemy than Boomers with their vast intelligence. |

This was a terrible sequel to the Macross saga of the Robotech-universe. The animation was crappy and so was the story. I did not care for the terrible job in how they made Lisa Hayes look with that awful hairstyle and her wedding dress looked horrible(I saw a far better wedding picture of the real Hikaru(Rick) and Misa(Lisa) from a scan on the Daitrombe website and Misa looked far more beautiful than her Robotech counterpart. Macross 7 did a far better job in designing an older Max and Millia than what they looked like in this film. Another horrible thing is what they made of Minmay, making her still clinging on to Rick, sounding to me she hadn't gotten over him. I prefer the Macross Minmay's character progression, where she was able to move on with her life and revising her image(as seen in Macross Flashback 2012). |

Both RK and YYH speak volumes of how long a shounen series SHOULD be. |

Never in my life had I ever face-palmed myself so much, this only proves how fucked up Studio Deen is when it comes to the RK series. Tsuiokuhen and the first two seasons of the original series were the only good points about the anime adaptations. The characters are beyond OOC and it is a poor representation of the Kyoto arc. Beyond the pretty modern animation, nothing about this anime was good, just a slap in the face to fans who desire the Jinchuu arc being adapted into fruition. The dub will just be salt to the already open wound with no one involved in the Bang Zoom produced dub involved, but in a way I'm kind of relieved because this anime isn't worthy of the greatness of Steven Blum, Wendee Lee, and Kirk Thornton's greatness. |

With a feel like a live action movie and superb realism, makes Tsuiokuhen a real diamond in the anime world. |

Soooooooo much better than those stupid long running shounens like DBZ, Naruto, etc..., at 26 episodes it gives you plenty of the shounen action a fan of the genre craves, and is kept short and sweet to where you can commit to it and not feel burned out like you would for a long running series that is 200+ episodes. Kazuma is a great shounen lead as he isn't idealistic like most and is hard edged and isn't the kind of wussy guy who isn't remorseful, regretful, or hesitant about killing an enemy. The overall cast was really good and the plot progression was excellent, I only wished that the character of Ayase Terada was a sub-main character for the series, she was an awesome character and my favorite love interest for Kazuma. |

Don't ever see Sailor Moon dubbed, it is just plain AWFUL, it is A LOT better in the original Japanese dub. Rei Hino is just awesome and is the best of the Sailor Senshi, I wish this series was called Sailor Mars, for she was much better than Sailor Moon. |

Otherwise I enjoyed the rockin' opening song for the series and the various ending themes sung by the seiyuu of the protagonist characters, the best one being Tomokazu Sugita's song for his character Kira. I'm glad Judas got rid of Shiva, he was annoying and I hated how he treated Shin, IMO Shiva should've been rid of long ago. I also loved the camaraderie of the four Saint Beasts and the two brothers, Kira and Maya and the shounen-ai hints. The seiyuu performances were excellent, especially by Akira Ishida as the fallen angel Judas. |

This is a good chapter of the Saint Beast series as the characters reflect on their past lives when they were at their most happiest when Judas and Luca were with them before the the tragic event in which the two are torn away for them. It is also a bittersweet affair for Shin and Rey as they shared a special relationship with Judas and Luca respectively. On the happier side of things, the angels shown in their adolescent forms are really cute, especially Shin, Gai, and Maya and how the relationships between them are formed. |

It shows how much and how far the two have come and you can't help but smile as well knowing how Sumire and Sakura had progressed. |

A truly wonderful visual anime with excellent animation by Production I.G. and the story was rather entertaining with the introduction of Lachette Altair, who would become a part of the New York division in the fifth game, the scene with her and Sakura conversing in English in the original Japanese dub was rather a fun scene with the addition of Maria's seiyuu, Urara Takano saying a few lines in English like she did in the first episode of the first OVA, and doing a fantastic job as always. Anything Sakura Wars related is truly spectacular and stellar with the beautiful songs sung by the talented voices behind our leading ladies and I feel that this series is the best when it comes to having the greatest soundtrack for anime ever. |

For its' time, it was quite a unique slice-of-life series with the story being done as an anthology and the way it is presented is makes Seraphim Call a wonderful anime. It's a shame this series is so underrated, despite it not following the serialized format most crave when it comes to stories, doesn't mean a series like Seraphim Call isn't a good anime. The positive things that flow in this anime is the cast of the female characters shown in each episode, either a character you can personally identify with, find endearing, or both. Each of these girls have a good quality about them, but by the same token have a flaw in their character to balance out things, but in quite a number of them is a role model whose attributes are worth looking up to, such as Tanpopo who can inspire anyone that you can always be young at heart, stay true to who you are, and keep your dreams alive and Saeno shows that beauty and brains go hand in hand and her storyline is the most thought provoking, and it's always a refreshing sight to see a character portrayed as a well-educated person and seen as a kind person. I think the weakest storylines in the series are the Murasame sisters and Urara's, the former repeats the same elements in the second part as in the first despite it being told in a different POV and the latter may feel like something that was seen in the last two episodes of the Evangelion series to most viewers. Also, the rating Media Blasters gave the DVD is inaccurate as it has subjects more suited for 13+ viewers, such as the incestuous bond of the Murasame sisters and Urara's questionable father-complex for example. Yet, I found it a very wonderful anime and I encourage everyone to see this anime. |

The animation of the movies was much better than what the TV series had to offer. Katsumi Liqueur is just so uninteresting as a main heroine, not to mention unlikeable. The cyberpunk sci-fi setting and the supernatural mysticism don't really mix well and not to my taste, which was the overall theme of the series. |

This series was quite a fun guilty pleasure, the series has just the right amount of ecchi and doesn't overdo it like a lot of today's anime is gulity of doing. The characters are fun and entertaining, except for Carrot Glace, at times he was just downright annoying. I would watch this in Japanese as a fan of Megumi Hayashibara, but I'm not a fan of Sakiko Tamagawa doing the role of Dota, she isn't really good in playing cute type character roles, her voice is just too deep and either Mariko Kouda or Junko Iwao would've been a better choice to voice Dota, as they're both great in doing cutesy character roles. Dota's English VA, Kira Vincent Davis did a much better job in capturing the character's cute charms. |

Pretty fun ecchi OVA follow-up of the TV series, Chocolate, Tira, and Dota are truly hot and sexy, more than those overrated Highschool DxD characters. I find it sad that the Bakuretsu Hunters series is so underrated, if any series that deserves a reboot, it's this one definitely and show ecchi at it's finest with something for everyone; a fun-filled fantasy set anime with hot girls for male viewers and hot guys like Gateau and Marron for female viewers, great story of a blended family within the Sorcerer Hunters group, and no stupid high-school harem crap. |

I found this series to be one of Tomino's best, even moreso than Gundam, as it is one of those series that keep you on the edge of your seat, and the complexity of the characters make Ideon the anime it is, so it isn't hard to see the resemblance to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although you may be put off by the ending, be sure to see Be Invoked, the true finale to Ideon for the complete experience. I also loved the songs by Taira Isao, whom sang the catchy opening and Keiko Toda, the seiyuu of Karala Ajiba who sings the melodic closing and she is quite talented as a singer and is better than anyone in anime these days. |

I was blown away by this finale to the TV series, with characters being killed off violently and hell breaking out everywhere with Ideon in its' invoked state makes this one of the most shocking finale's to any series, this gets two thumbs up for me in my book of awesome anime endings. |

Another piece of shounen fare that I liked that was a series less than 30 episodes long and had quite the story to it, too bad hard-core Street Fighter fans likely hate it, but hey at least it's far better than that awful movie version. Looking back, I think it was wise of Manga Ent. to change the original songs to the series, for anyone who saw the original OP would think that at first glance it is a series about Ken and Ryu having some sort of bromance going on, rather than just good friends on a journey to be the best fighters they can be. |

I loved this shounen-ai/yaoi anime series, the romance was really sweet and passionate at the same time, my favorite pairing being Shinichiro and Nanami. I also liked how dark the series had become by the second half of the series when the truth of Sora and Sunao's past is revealed as well as the nature of their relationship which was by all means a dynamic one. The light-hearted moments in the first half was a joy to watch and Sunao looked cute dressed up as a girl. Matsuri provides a lot of the comic relief and even Gaku too has his moments. This is one series I wish they had made a sequel for considering the original VN series is a coming-of-age tale that takes the characters from high school to adulthood and Sei and his friends from childhood to adolescence. I wish they had shown the character of Professor Aizawa more though. Overall I enjoyed every moment of this anime and recommend it to any fan of shounen-ai/yaoi anime. |

Such an underrated gem this OVA is, this OVA goes into deep territory briefly in regards to WWII, and tied to that is a story of apocalyptic proportions as a lone subterranean human plots against the surface-dwelling humans with her giant gravity-defying rings of doom capable of mass destruction. In the midst of this conflict is a love story between another born as a subterranean human and a surface-dweller who both fight to protect the world they love from destruction. I for one loved this anime as it was different than most and had an original story to it. I love Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's character designs, quite different in style from his 80's design work and the music was excellent. |

I first saw this in the Robotech version and later on saw it in the original version and the original version is much better. Out of the series used for the Robotech series, I found this one to be underrated, I didn't like the Mospeada chapter and the Southern Cross chapter had an equally powerful story such as Macross did as Southern Cross had quite the touching and emotional tragic love story for the leading heroine. The artwork is amazing and it shows how Tomonori Kogawa improved as an artist compared to his earlier work for Ideon. |

Out of all the mecha series out there, this one deserves the god tier of them all, as it provides a great story of human beings on a journey through space fighting against a massive enemy, to dealing with becoming space refugees when the "powers that be" determine their ship which has become their home is too much of a threat to global safety, to a love story between different sets of people and how two people who have grown close to each other grow apart as time goes by when their stations in life stand between them, destructive mech battles that are both deadly and intense, the deep emotions that burst forth through the characters, and the brilliant soundtrack accompanying the action on screen with music by Kentarou Haneda and songs sung by Mari Iijima and Makoto Fujiwara. The first 27 episodes mark a brilliantly told masterpiece, however the remaining 9 are good in trying to finalize the Minmay-Hikaru-Misa love triangle, but tended to be over-dramatic though. Minmay is one well thought out character though as she is presented in the most realistic manner rather than some overly perfect and flawless idol waifu. |

Ahh, great 80's visual porn if I may say so, this is quite epic in scale for a 2-hour movie and the song "Ai Oboete Imasuka" brings it all together in one fantastic finish, and the character of Lynn Kaifun is portrayed as less of a jerkass than he was on the original series, which is good because the film kept his character relatively minor. I also liked how Hikaru and Misa's romance played out in the movie better than the series did as well as Hikaru literally slapping some sense into Minmay when she was acting selfishly. |

A truly amazing music video collection of songs sung by Mari Iijima as this marks the final animated work done by the famous singer, it's a shame that Macross was Iijima's only work in the anime industry, for she proves to be an excellent voice actress as well. The final scenes were meant to be incorporated into the DYRL movie, but never made it to fruition, so they became a part of the music video collection as it shows the leading trio as they embark on their journey upon the Megaroad and bid them farewell. Despite this one not being actual canon, this series offers an enchanting story, brilliant animation, fantastic voice acting by the seiyuu cast, and a great cast of characters. This particular series I feel is underrated and if I were to recommend a short series to watch that offers something enjoyable, I would definitely say Macross II. |

This is one the best sci-fi anime series out there as it isn't just about the humanoid mecha type battles and other elements placed into an anime of the same genre, it goes deep into the pysche of the lead character Takaya "D-Boy" Aiba as he is in a desperate battle against those that were once his closest friends and family, those battles against his twin brother were quite emotional. Kaoru Wada's musical score is truly amazing and the powerful songs sung by Yumiko Kosaka add to the greatness of this anime series. Voice acting is top-notch with such terrific performances by Toshiyuki Morikawa, Megumi Hayashibara, Takehito Koyasu, Chisa Yokoyama, Hirotaka Suzuoki, and among many other greats in the industry. However the series could've done without the recap episodes, they were uneccessary fillers that have nothing to add to the story, also the animation could've had a more consistent look as well. |

This OVA does not deserve all the hate it gets by elitists who think it is horrible and doesn't deserve to sit side by side with its' prequel. With some of the sequel OVA series I have seen TB II is one of the better ones out there as it does provide a story and brings incredible action and I liked it very much. How can one not be impressed with Aki in action with her own Tekkaman. However to understand the basis of this OVA you would have to watch the mini OVA that accompanies the TV series as one of the extras. Aki handles herself well with class even as she is faced with a lovestruck teenager who has feelings for her D-Boy and I do like that the fact that the OVA still has D-Boy and Aki as the canon couple as they were in the TV series and their feelings for each other are still strong. All the seiyuu did a fantastic job with their roles and I was rather impressed with Chieko Honda's performance and for those who have heard her as the kawaii Elpeo Puru in ZZ Gundam, you'd be surprised. |

This was the overall best entry in the Tenchi metaverse, with a fantastic story combined with a beautiful soundtrack is what made the first movie so great. Megumi Hayashibara as Achika was a brilliant choice and anything she does is gold and I loved her rendition of the ending theme, I wish that was an option for the Japanese language track of the film. |

I also loved this movie as well, rather entertaining even though it has demi-incestual themes between Tenchi and Mayuka, I wish that the movie was drawn out a little bit longer, at least a half hour to develop Mayuka's relationship with Tenchi and the gang better. This film should've also been part of the Universe continuity, so at least baby Mayuka could've been a part of the Shin Tenchi Muyo series. |

This is quite an underrated and underappreciated series, if anything I find this series much better than Clannad at the very least, the characters in Tokimeki Memorial are quite excellent girls and each excel in a particular art or skill unique to them and the leading heroine, Shiori Fujisaka is quite an admirable heroine as she has admirable goals for herself, all of which take priority over getting involved in a relationship as she saves that part of her life for later as a reward for her hard work in high school and when she does confess to the boy she loves, the rewards of it are well earned. I wish a TV series was made for the Shiori Tokimeki Memorial series instead of an OVA. |

The only character I felt left an impact was Coach Kashiwaba, he may seem unlikeable with his jerkass personality, but later on you'll come to understand why he is the way he is. |

Hands down this is the best of Tomino's Gundam works, he improves greatly from his UC shows and tells a story unique from the usual Gundam fare, provides an excellent cast of characters, gives death scenes more quality and depth than he ever did before (especially in Zeta's case). The romances are really excellent too and of higher quality, such as Harry and Kihel's as well as Gavane and Sochie's, it felt believable and realistic. I would say the bond between Loran and Queen Dianna is more of a platonic love. I love Dianna and Kihel very much and they are by far the best Gundam heroines by far alongside Sayla of the original and Wing's Relena. Yoko Kanno provides an excellent music score and the OP & ED songs are really excellent to listen to. It's sad that this series is so unloved in its' country of origin and that Bandai was slow to release the series before the company was shut down for good. With the latter, I think it was a mistake to not release it soon after Gundam Wing's release, because alongside Wing, Turn A is among a fan-favorite that was high in demand by Gundam fans. Overall, I highly recommend this Gundam series and I am glad that I cast aside my doubts and have these positive feelings about Turn A. It's fantastic that it will be getting a BD release, all that I hope for now is that Turn A gets rescue licensed and Wing as well. Both Turn A and Wing are both my top tier Gundam shows that I favor most. |

Utsunomiko represents the greatness of storytelling with the story of Utsunomiko and his allies journey to the heavens in order to fulfill a mission that takes a dramatic turn when the god Taishakuten kidnaps Utsunomiko's beautiful friend Kagami and he is engulfed in a battle against Taishakuten's army of gods in order to rescue her. It also has a wonderful romance story between Utsunomiko and Kagami that I loved and found endearing. |
