I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
Black Jack The Movie Excellent
I like that way that that even the lead antagonist is not some two-dimensional character.
Black Jack: The Two Doctors Of Darkness (movie) Excellent
  • Dr. Jack ("Dr. Death") Kevorkian
  • 0:29:55| Now THAT is an unusual scene!
  • 0:37:14| Now THAT is unusual symbolism!
  • As a thriller/tragedy, it ain't bad.....
  • Gotta say, though, that the characters with guns can't shoot straight to save their own lives.....
Black Lagoon (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (OAV) Very good
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
Black Rock Shooter (OAV) Very good (dub), Excellent (sub)
  • See this video which compares/contrasts the original OAV with the TV reboot.
  • The OST is effective.
  • 9/11
Black Rock Shooter (TV) Masterpiece
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3kNm3qrjUI&list=TLPQMTEwNDIwMjAGs6W4ZbWQnw
    8 ep.s + 1 hr. OAV
The OAV came first; the TV series is a reboot.
  1. Interesting symbolism in how the pedestrian sign flashes green.
  2. "[W]hat's wrong?"
  3. "Kohachi-senpai!"
  4. "I don't need you anymore; so enjoy the chocolate cookies. "
  5. "Black Rock Shooter"
  6. "It's wrong."
  7. This is a quasi-magical girl show.
  8. A bitter-sweet ending; Black Rock Shooter vows to keep on fighting in her world -- and "Strength" is seemingly her perpetual apponent.
Bleach the Movie: Fade to Black (movie 3) Very good
Bleach the Movie: Hell Verse (movie 4) Excellent (dub & sub)
Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody Good
Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion (movie 2) Very good (dub & sub)
Bleach: The Sealed Sword Frenzy (OAV) Good
A mixture of the serious and the absurd.....
Blood+ (TV) Good
Blood: The Last Vampire (movie) Good
Blood: The Last Vampire (live-action movie) Good
It's always interesting to see how an anime gets "translated", as it were, with live-action treatment. For myself, seeing the Harvey Keitel look-alike in his trench coat was a jaw-dropping experience. (and speaking of look-alikes, what's with the Steve Buscemi look-alike?) If there was anything that I found truly disappointing, it was that the movie did deviate a bit from the anime movie; and I found that disappointing because the opening scenes of the movie were so faithful to the anime movie.
