What can I say? I am not a completest!

Will not finish Rating
Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (TV) Not really good
Saw this on TV as a child. Even back then, I wasn't terribly impressed. See also my entry for Voltron in this list.
Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE- Past (movie) So-so
What I saw is too damned disjointed; I'll check out the series before checking out the 2nd movie.
Black Clover (TV) saw on Toonami -- will not rate
Bokurano (TV) Awful
Dear mother of the goddesses, if this thing were any more depressing, then I swear that that I would slit my own wrists! I hate Greek tragedy. The reason I have rated at 2/11 (instead of 1/11) is because of the OP & ED songs (here & here, respectively)

Bokurano: Latest Manga Adaptation Train Wreck

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV)
I will not rate the series because I have not seen it in its entirety. However, I will state my reason for deciding not to finish the series: It is because it continues in a different vein. This is not a continuation of the first series; rather, it is the first series set in an alternate universe -- and in this universe, humor is emphasized to the exclusion of all else. I am not saying that this is a bad thing in a series; I am just saying that this is not my cup of tea.

Note to self: Read all of the reviews -- the series might be worth revisiting.

Gatchaman (TV)
  • As a young child, I saw some episodes as Battle of the Planets.....
  • I don't care if this is a stroll down memory lane -- at 105 ep.s, I'm not watching it!
Gurren Lagann (TV) So-so
I saw the opener and I couldn't watch any further. Exactly why SciFi (excuse me....."Syfy"......what rubbish) chose to show it is beyond me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When "Syfy" showed the series again, I tried to watch it, I really did.....but that opener, combined with that first 10 minutes was simply too much..... This dreck is CLEARLY aimed at younger children (tweens, if I'm not mistaken).

==============================================================================================

I've seen most of it, so I've changed my rating of it. At least they're willing to kill off a few characters. It does get better after a while, but this is far from a favorite of mine.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (TV) Bad
The only reason that that I saw the part that I did was because I happened to have access to Cartoon Network / Toonami at the time. So why do I hold it in such disrepute? From Major irritants about "Inuyasha.":
I wrote:
2. The expositions wherein the characters explain what's going on (e.g., when Kagome trips over a rock, Shippo will then exclaim, "Kagome tripped over a rock!"
Further on down the thread bravetailor, in response to John Casey, wrote:
Not just One Piece, but all long shonen series in general.

Shonen series in general tend to be highly expository because

a: they are meant for kids
b: they are meant to be watched casually, while kids are eating a meal or doing something with the TV on. So when something happens onscreen, they overexplain it so that the programs can be followed even if the audience is not always looking at the TV while it is on. And no--I am not making this up, I think one of the producers for the Inu-Yasha anime even said this in an interview.

If these things begin to bother you, chances are you're ready to start looking for anime that are meant for people older than 13 years old.

Kodocha (TV) Not my cup of tea; but since I have not seen all of it, I will not rate it.
Rave Master (TV) Bad
I should explain my point of view. I saw the opening sequence, and my hand AUTOMATICALLY punched the "mute" button. I had to consciously put down the remote for one of the worst 90 second periods of my life. I'm sorry, but I both CANNOT and WILL NOT watch this anime. I'd have to be paid some good $$$ to watch it.
(The) Vision of Escaflowne (TV) So-so
Nice ED

Juxtaposing mecha with the middle ages is just absurd -- it's a mashup of scifi and fantasy.

Voltron (TV) Worst ever
I saw this thing as a child; now that I'm an adult, I COMPLETELY agree with the review!
The only positive thing, aside from its monstrous nostalgia value, that one can say about Voltron is that it periodically achieves a kitsch value akin to that of the Flash Gordon serials of yesteryear; only without the critical temporal distance that would render its chasmic shortcomings as quaint quirks. There is nothing quaint or even remotely appealing about Voltron. Upon completing this set, my one reaction was an overwhelming desire to throttle the show and demand that it return the hours of my life that it had stolen from me.
