notrogersmith's Anime

take a look at notrogersmith's Manga
Will not finish Rating Comment
Blade of the Immortal (TV) Decent My problems with the anime are about the same ones that I had with the manga. Plus, somehow it seemed a little bit lurid in its portrayal of how one of the main character's parents died.
Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan (TV) Bad Okay, the rating here may be a bit subjective, but I just found this really grating, even after giving it the benefit of a couple 15-minute episodes. It's not so much the dark humor as it is the combination of ecchi and toilet humor, and it did not help that the titular Dokuro-chan came off as kind of dim. Just ... bleh.
Gatchaman (TV) Not really good (dub & edit.dub) I saw an edited version of this a kid (Battle of the Planets), and then, for the sake of nostalgia and curiosity, saw the first few episodes of the unedited version -- which was enough. That said, this show can be fun in small doses.
Hamtaro (TV) Weak I saw a few random episodes of this when I was stuck with my younger brother who was watching this in a hotel room -- and that's more than I want to see again.
Hellsing (TV) Not really good The opening theme of this is pretty good, but that's about the only way I can think of that it's better than Hellsing Ultimate.
Kino's Journey - the Beautiful World- (TV) Bad This feels like the edgelord version of the earlier Kino's Journey anime of 2003.
Koi Kaze (TV) While I've heard that this show is actually good, I personally couldn't make it past the first episode because I dreaded what was to come.
Plastic Memories (TV) Bad This show squandered the potential of an interesting premise, instead trying to be a cringeworthily executed romantic "comedy."
Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (TV) Not really good I saw this as a kid and had fun, but it doesn't hold up too well.
Sailor Moon (TV) Not really good I have a decidedly mixed attitude toward this series. I ended up seeing it because some guy watched in my college's student lounge. Sometimes I half-ignored it, and sometimes I tried to do a half-hearted MST3K of it. On the one hand, I give it some credit for having overarching plot arcs and a fair bit of imagination. On the other hand, the recurring monster-of-the-week thing isn't so wonderful, the costumes look suspiciously like an intrusion of the male gaze into a show where it makes no sense to have it, and having the main heroine be dim-witted gets on my nerves.
Solty Rei (TV) Not really good This series started off okay, but when it got to the point that a known thief was moving into a bounty hunter's home and being very annoying, and the bounty hunter *still* avoids calling the cops, I had trouble wanting to go on.
Speed Racer (TV) Not really good I saw a few episodes of this when MTV decided to show an anime for some weird reason.
Tenchi Universe (TV) I saw some episodes of this on Cartoon Network, before I even knew what a harem anime was, let alone that this was that kind of anime.
Wake Up, Girls! (TV) So-so I'm not a fan of J-pop idol music, so that diminished any enjoyment of this. Plus the show had some male gaze problems.
(The) World Is Still Beautiful (TV) So-so
