Will not finish Rating Comment
Baki the Grappler (TV) So-so Hmm. Fighting, getting stronger.. fight, fight, oh look maybe what might resemble a plot, uh, no just another fight. That's what I was thinking while watching a few of these shows, they were playing on tv so I thought I'd give it a shot. I wasn't impressed with the first show I saw, but I decided to give it a chance, maybe allow time for a story arc to show itself or characters to at least show signs of developement. Never happenned. The only reason I don't give this a bad or even awful rating is because some of the fights were cool to watch, still a series needs more than just senseless fighting.
Beast Wars: Transformers (U.S. TV) Decent I can't remember the episodes I watched from this series enough to comment on it.
Beyblade (TV) Bad This is a waste of time, anyone who has kids or regularly cares for them, I recommend you make sure they do not start watching this show. A 5 year old will watch it, love it, and you'll end up having to sit through it.
Bible Black (OAV) So-so H-anime is not my thing but I watched part of it because I had heard good things about the story, but it didn't really grab my attention so I probably will not finish watching it. The plot is full of holes, more ludicrous than shocking, and overall not interesting.
Case Closed (TV) Good What I have seen of Case Closed doesn't measure much of a percentage in the amount of episodes this series has. The few I have seen here and there are alright and if I wanted to tie myself down to just one series for a year I would consider it, but I doubt that'll happen. Still, with quirky characters, entertaining plots, and detective work, it is interesting overall. I will continue to sit through the occasional episode when I catch one on tv.
D.Gray-man (TV) Very good I’m pretty late to D.Gray Man watching but I like it so far. I’ve only watched 8 episodes but from what I can tell so far, when this show is good it is really good, what concerns me is that when it is bad it is pretty pitiful. The good is a culmination of an interesting set up with a fair amount of mystique and action and the show doesn’t seem like it is afraid to let bad things happen. The bad is that it isn’t very good at comedy and the last episode I saw was presumably comedy filler that didn’t amuse. But there seems to be a lot more good then bad so I’m excited to watch more. With the recent licensing I’ll likely give up the fansubs for now and wait for Funi DVDs to watch more. I’m actually surprised how long it took for this show to get picked up, that was one of the reasons why I was putting of watching, figuring it must not really be that good. But it is good.

As the episode count grow's I can not really fathom ever going back to complete this, even if I do like it. Unless some cheap box sets are made some day for not this show is on my will nto finish list.

Digimon Adventure (TV) Bad
Eiken (OAV) Awful This show has gotten the the worst rating I have ever allowed myself to give an anime. It is just so very bad. It is not interesting, entertaining, or funny. The parodies show no creativity and so instead of coming off as a parody of a harem type show, it ends up being a really boring and unimaginative representation of one. The story is horribly poor and, normally, without a plot to speak of it would be up to the random comedy to make up for it, but without anything funny it's up to the fanservice to at least make it watchable, but with the overly emphasized features in the character designs (which I imagine are supposed to be parody as well) there is nothing good to look at either, so the show just ends up being a giant waste of animated space. The first time I tried watching it I had left 15 minutes unwatched because I started the last episode late, but (un?)luckily it was showing on TV again so I decided to try and finish those 15 minutes in order to properly earn complaining rights. However I could not sit through even 5 minutes without being reminded of why I hated this show so much and I decided complaining rights were not important enough to waste even another minute of my life watching it.
Galaxy Angel (TV) Decent From what I have seen it does not appear to be a bad show, but it also doesn't look like something I would go out of my way to buy and finish. Maybe I'll think differently some day but for now the Galaxy Angel universe is not one that I will look too long into watching.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) I sat down to take a serious look at a couple of episodes of this and they were alright I guess, but not really something I want to dive into at 52 episodes. Maybe I'll change my mind at a later time, since I do have a thing for long series anyway but for now I'm not gonna spend the time, or more importantly, the money.
Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino (TV) Decent This show doesn’t hold up well against the original series. Even through it is animating some really great stories from the manga, it just doesn’t have the same artistic sense. Well it is just not the animation, the characters don’t really work as well with the new seiyuu either and the music doesn’t compare either. It is probably not nearly as bad as I’m making it out to be, but I can’t help but compare it to the original series which is my 3rd favorite anime and I rate a masterpiece, it is pretty hard to enjoy this one. Well it also looks like the fansubbers are making it easy for me by no longer subbing it anyway. I may buy it if licensed in the US as long as at least the original American cast is brought back, that way I may be able to enjoy it a bit more dubbed, but for now this is pushed into my will not finish list.
Hand Maid Mai (OAV) Bad I only saw a few minutes of this when i realized that it is a good thing that there were no other episodes created. I didn't finish watching the episode as it was pretty lame. It doesn't have anything near the appeal and charm that does Hand Maid May and beyond that is just plain bad.
Initial D (TV) Not really good
Kaiba (TV) This show reminds me of all the contemporary artists who pile up garbage in one form or other and call it art, and yet no matter what they want to call it, it is still garbage. And I can see where the show plays cute with symbolism and “hidden” truths but the funny thing is that everything is so blatant that it practically screams what it is trying to veil for the audience to figure out. If it is one thing the show has though it’s a pretty darned good cast of seiyuu; too bad they are working on this show instead of something I’d actually enjoy. The show gets lower scores from me just for wasting this talent. I don’t usually drop shows after a single episode, actually I have never before dropped a show after just one episode, but I won’t sit through another one of these. Dropped before I hate myself for trying to force myself to watch something I know will be bad. I won’t ever rate a show after a single episode but thinking about it, it is so bad that I can’t even watch two episodes. I even sat through all of the Utena movie and I think that was the worst anime I’ve watched until now, so that might give you a good idea of about where this would rank on my list.
Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox (TV) Bad This show just does not have anything that would qualify watching it all. It's basically a fanservice title and even the fanservice isn't very good; the character designs aren’t really attractive. And without good fanservice all that is really left is a shallow show with a shallow story. I’d guess some would label it a comedy but aside from a few moments in episode 3 (which I am sure were a mistake) I didn’t see anything that would qualify even remotely as humorous. I think I gave it an honest shot watching 4 episodes, but watching even that few felt like a task. And the 4th one was the last straw; I mean seriously, a cursed bunny girl outfit? Again just an excuse for fanservice, and as I said since the girls designs aren’t all that nice then what the hell is the point of watching it? No more Kanokon for me.
Kyo no Gononi (OAV) So-so I thought I'd seen it all but now it shows more episodes on the way, well... In any case this show is bad with the fanservice but not really as bad as some people make it out to be; however it is there and not really appropriate and rather shameless. But that is not the only place this show is lacking, overall it has a huge lack of story and character development of any kind. Things apparently just happen and we are supposed to be entertained by them. It is not a very good approach. I've seen worse but that is not an endorsement for this series.
Macross 7 (TV) Decent I'm more interested in the Macross universe since Macross Frontier began airing so I actually might come back to finish watching this someday.
Magical Angel Creamy Mami (TV) Decent This show honestly probably would not have gotten my attention normally but there was an interview on ANN tv recently with Akemi Takada who did the character designs for Creamy Mami, and she just spoke so sincerely and tenderly about having worked on this show that I had to have a look. Unfortunately, outside of the character designs of course which I did honestly like, the show is more in the range of so-so than good. It's cute, I'll give it that, but not really my kind of cute, it's more like 'a 12 year old girl might like it' kind of cute so I'm not sure if I really will push through this series all the way to the end, especially at 52 episodes. In the end it is just too long and not enough in my tastes to realistically think I'll ever watch it all.
Magical Witch Academy - Boku to Sensei no Magical Lesson - The Animation (OAV) Weak
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (TV) Weak I mostly stay away from mecha anime, I was told this one was good. It wasn't. I tried it out, didn't like it, and I doubt I'll ever watch more than the 3 or 4 episodes I did, much less actually finish the series.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (TV) Weak After my failure of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, someone told me the reason I was dissapointed was because I picked up the wrong Gundam. Apparently Gundam Wing is the end all be all of Gundam series. If it is I'll never know, I tried it out, didn't like it, and I doubt I'll ever watch more than the 3 or 4 episodes I did, much less actually finish the series. (Hmm, exactly what I said for the other Gundam series I've tried, at least now I know not to take Gundam recommendations. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Blah blah blah... )
Monster Rancher (TV) So-so
Naruto (TV) Decent Ok, I finally got a chance to see some of thsese epsiodes in order and I have to say that while the show is decent, in no way do I intend on following what will eventually turn into a 200+ episode series that I find merely decent. I am ashamed at myself for watching all of Yu Yu Hakusho, which is the series that most remins me of this, so while its a good way from staving off boredom, there are tons of other potentially better shows, books, movies to keep me occupied. I no longer have the problem I did with Yu Yu Hakusho that I did not have access to a lot of other anime.
Nighthead Genesis (TV) Weak Boy this is bad. The first episode was pretty good and sets up a potential story with a good concept behind it, but after that all it really offers are ridiculously contrived predictable plots, poor characters and dialogue, disastrous absurd endings, and some very weak "shock" sequences. However on the flip side, the reason I watched 14 episodes is that it is occasionally so god awful it is sometimes comical, which is also why I won't rate it as bad as it honestly deserves. But it does get annoying after a while which is why it's not good to watch more than an episode at a time, but in scenes that try to get dramatic or serious especially it will make me roll my eyes but chuckle at the same time at just how bad it was done. Particularly scenes with the ever crybaby Naoya, god what a poor character he is. Even the choices in direction and animation are often so hideous that I can't help but laugh at how completely inane and incompetent it looks. It's like watching a bad horror movie, you know the plot is bad and the idea contrived but you can't help but laugh at it. Of course Night Head genesis is not so "horribly" funny that it will ever be memorable in any way whatsoever, but it did provide the occasional laugh. However in the end this show just suffers from way too much poor writing and I couldn’t really finish it.
Pokémon (TV) Decent This is the only Pokemon I will list although I know I have seen episodes from some of the other series and maybe 2 or 3 of the movies, I just do not know them by name and I am not really in the mood for looking them up. Pokemon is not that important to me by any means. I'll admit I enjoyed watching some of the episodes from the first and maybe second seasons, but after a while it is a matter of wanting something different to happen. The only reason I watch episodes today is because of the young ones I sit for, and what comes on today is mostly the newer stuff so I think I can safely say I will not watch this in its entirety.
Pokémon Chronicles (TV) So-so
S-CRY-ed (TV) Bad
S.A (TV) Weak What an irritating show. Well, actually the show probably wouldn’t be too bad without Takishima the main male character. My initial complaint was that he’s a perfect character without flaws that makes him both annoying and useless as a lead. The reason being that flaws are what make characters interesting and help people relate to them, so who would continuously want to watch someone who always gets their way and always wins. It’s stupid. As I continued to watch it he became even more irritating for how the series tries to make him appealing; sympathy. How, you ask? Well this poor guy is so perfect that his younger brother hates him. Isn’t that sad, here’s a guy who is not brotherly in any way, doesn’t seem to even want to bother with his kid brother, but he is oh so sad that his brother hates him. And in the end of the episode his brother loves and adores him, so he’s apparently overcome this. If you see the episode it you’ll note it doesn’t even make sense. And then in the last episode I watched he is such a perfectionist that he prefers to do things on his own, so apparently he’s lonely, and despite doing everything he possibly can to piss off Hikari, he gets frustrated because she doesn’t understand how much he likes her. To ho ho. Seriously!? This is what is called spoiled and antisocial, not something that would make people feel bad for the guy. And in the end he suddenly wants to work with everyone so he won’t be alone anymore and Hikari understands him a little better because she catches him in one of his lonely woe is me I’m so spoiled and perfect moods. Aside from him the show wasn’t exactly sparkling anyway. There is no creativity to the storytelling and when the plot isn’t original either then it just ends up being lame. Some of the other characters looked potentially promising, but the series has to try so hard to make the lead likeable, and continuously failing to do so, that I don’t really expect any development for the somewhat interesting background characters. I gave it a shot but this pretty much sucked and so dropped after 5 episodes.
Street Fighter II V (TV) Not really good
Strike Witches (TV) Decent In an alternate past there is a very serious problem. It seems that there is a severe shortage in skirts, pants, dresses, and shorts for young girls. Oh, and also there is an unknown alien race with advanced destructive weapons trying to destroy everything and young witches, probably something to do with the clothing shortage, are asked to battle these visitors from above. As with the original OAV this series is a fetishists dream, but it actually offers some form of a story to follow. Even with that it is a little annoying though because a few scenes where it is supposed to be touching you can’t help but keep thinking things like “I know the girl is sad and for good reason but why must the camera angle consistently be on her scantily clad ass as she is crying bent over; the scene would actually work if they just let the emotions on her face show. You know… tears and stuff.” Still it isn’t so bad a show where I wouldn’t normally finish it however I ran out of Bost points and the show is not good enough to warrant spending more money on non physical media. I also absolutely refuse to watch anything on the other site, you know the one where the dickwads make money off illegal anime, and I won’t download fansubs for a show that is legally available. I guess I’ll wait to see if there is ever a cheap DVD release if I ever decide to come back and finish this show. Or maybe I’ll wait to see if the price at Bost drops after the series is concluded.
Tenshi na Konamaiki (TV) So-so I started watching this because I was recommended it being a Ranma fan and I thought that the concept was pretty interesting. However this show quickly dove into a pattern of ridiculous constant repetitiveness and it doesn't look like anything ever gets resolved so I'm dropping it. I watched 16 episodes in total when I was completely bored with it. After this I watched the last few minutes of the final episode just to confirm my suspicions and just as I thought nothing good would come of continuing with this. I had a few laughs during the first couple of episodes but even this early on everything just started to get boring. I wanted to cheer Megumi (especially as he is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara) in hopes of seeing him accomplish his goal of regaining what was lost but all that ever happens is him fending off boys and slowly acting more girly. There is no point in that for me. I thought it would be more like Ranma where the characters are built quite nicely, there are different stories told, the humor is always kept fresh, and the character interactions make even the slow episodes worthwhile, but instead it turns into an overplayed series of silly jokes that could have been done in 5 episodes for all the story it actually tells.
Transformers: Robots in Disguise (TV) So-so I can't remember the episodes I watched from this series enough to comment on it.
Ultimate Muscle (TV) Weak
Ultraviolet: Code 044 (TV) I think I went into this show with expectations a bit too high. I can tell the first episode is just setting up the plot. There are some interesting visuals and the little bit of action is not very bad but it just doesn’t look very interesting. The slow pacing so far goes against my feeling that this should be a full throttle high paced action show. And I don’t mind slow building plots but what it shows in the first episode is just so unoriginal and unimaginative that it has me now going into the following episodes with very low expectations. I hope this show does turn around and get better; because of how much I’ve been anticipating I want to be able to enjoy it. Oh and if like me, you start watching this because you liked the movie, it seems it is best to not even try to compare and contrast with the movie story because it is far too different.

I would have given this show a fair shot but it seems the fansub groups were not nearly as interested in it as I was. This will have to stay in the 'not finish' pile unlesss it is somehow done later or licensed.

Umi no Triton (TV) It's interesting that for a long time, unitil only just recently, I thought Star Blazers was the first Anime I ever saw, but I saw this in the encyclopedia and I just knew I had seen it. I am over 30 years old and I remember seeing this when I was 4 or 5 years old and my family lived in Mexico. Of course there is no way I can really remember it but it was sort of a nice reminicent moment when I looked at this picture. Sadly with no US license and no Spanish VHS or DVDs that I can find anywhere, it doesn't look like I'll ever be able to see this again.
Voltron (TV) So-so I can't remember the episodes I watched from this series enough to comment on it.
xxxHOLiC: Kei (TV) So-so I wasn't very impressed with the first series but I just couldn't get away from comparing to the greatness that is the manga. Except for really messing up the character designs and making them somewhat grotesque I think some of my other complaints of the series may have been someone unfair because of them manga comparisons. Now that I only get a new chapter every 2 to 4 weeks and a new volume in the US releases every 4 to 6 months, and don't have the manga as fresh in my mind I thought it might make it easier to enjoy this second series. The first few episodes jump right into some of my favorite parts from late in the manga and it didn’t start too bad. However in the end it frustrates me that the anime really doesn’t show any of the character development that I love. The characters are all still behaving too much like they did in the beginning and that’s a bad sign considering one of the main points of the story is change and growth. I gp through 7 episodes but in the end each time a new episode was available for viewing it almost felt like a chore to force myself to start it and sit through it. Third series from the spring 2008 season that I dropped, although I did watch this one more than Kanokon or Special A, so I can’t say this was the worst of the season.
Yu-Gi-Oh! (TV 1/1998) Not really good
Zatch Bell (TV) Weak
