I rated at 11/11 even though the ending presents a conservative value.

The plots are twisty and complicated! Also, there's a romantic element that is being telegraphed.

Despite some issues with the romance, which really will depend on your own suspension of disbelief within the genre, The Champions of Justice and the Supreme Ruler of Evil is a good read. Going from funny to touching between beginning and end, it's a good way to escape for a few hours. Readers looking for a female-aimed light novel that's not isekai should definitely check this out.
I never thought that I would ever end up disagreeing so strongly with R.S.; but that ending ─ wow, it's bad.

So I really enjoyed reading it ─ and then I came to the epilogue. To quote Tristan "Arkada" Gallant, "The ending is paramount." So how bad is the ending? Let me put it this way: I refuse to look at Japanese culture through rose-tinted glasses. I was thinking that that I would rate this at 11/11 (Masterpiece), but, because of the blatant sexism, I am rating this at 8/11 (Good) instead.

That's how bad the epilogue is; no agency ─ just the patriarchy running amok.

Crest of the Stars (novel) Very good
So I was given the J-Novel 3-in-1 hardback edition. I think it has a different translator than the Tokyo Pop translation. It wasn't great; but neither was it bad. And it's a prequel to Banner of the Stars.

Not hentai, but significant nudity. I wonder if the nudity is a reflection of the horrific sexism in Japanese culture?

King of Thorn (manga) Good
This is one of those rare cases where the anime adaptation is unquestionably superior to the source material.
