Believe in the Heart of the Cards? 5 Cards You Should Know Before the Twitch Yu-Gi-Oh! Marathon

by Margaux Pangilinan (Paid Advertisement),

Didn't need to call a Time Wizard for this one. Twitch drew 236 episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! from their deck. Starting today, the beloved English dub of the series will air on twitch.tv/watch/anime/ as part of their ongoing anime marathon. Before the duels begin, here are 5 cards you should know and love coming to a chat near you.

Time Wizard

Time Wizard is a huge coin flip gamble to wipe your opponent's monsters in the real game, but you'll often see this guy turn the tides for one particular duelist throughout the series. Praise the coin flip.

Kunai With Chain

When the going gets rough, it's time to yell it out-- “KUNAIIIIIII WITH CHAIIIIIN!” With that iconic yell, this oft-used Trap Card forces a monster into defense position when it attacks, then adds attack to your own monsters.

Mirror Force

Growing up with a friend that had this card meant every time there was one card face down, no matter how good you had it, you could be in trouble. While attacking, Mirror Force wipes all your attacking monsters on your turn. When things turn for the worse, this trap card can make a duelist feel like they're already in the shadow realm.

Monster Reborn

“MONSTER REBOOOOOORN!” As this Magic card name entails, a monster is summoned to the field from either graveyard. Whether it be for a sacrifice or just discarded from the field, this card raises chances for victory from the dead, and you'll know from the booming voices the match is still on.

Pot Of Greed

What does it do? You'll find out very quickly--this card is the real MVP. A strong asset to any duelist's deck, a Magic Card drawing two cards from your 40 to 60 deck size can turn the tides. How strong is your Heart of the Cards?

No matter how many Star Chips you've got, get ready to d-d-d-duel starting today until November 7th. Watch it all, use exclusive emotes, and chat with thousands of fans on twitch.tv/watch/anime. Whether you've been a fan from day one or you're just finding out that the card game rules don't match up with the show's, definitely tune into this iconic series on Twitch.
