Own A Digital Copy of Fireworks Today!

by Shout! Factory (Paid Advertisement),

From Genki Kawamura, the producer of the worldwide anime sensation Your Name, comes Fireworks, a title worth adding to your growing anime movie collection. Get ready for a beautifully animated dramatic romance with a twist of sci-fi!

About the Film

Fireworks is based from the 1993 Japanese live-action television play and 1995 film of the same name created by Shunji Iwai. It tells a simple story of adolescent longing that taps the deep wells of emotion. It is a tale of youthful wistfulness, missed opportunities and long-ago dreams, the urgency of young lovers, the desire to create a separate universe, and a magic place outside of time where they can be together. This is a different kind of movie that you would watch again and again.

Shy Norimichi and fast-talking Yusuke are both enraptured by the same elusive classmate, Nazuna. But Nazuna, unhappy over her mother's decision to remarry and leave their countryside town, plans to run away and has secretly chosen Norimichi to accompany her. When things don't go as planned, Norimichi discovers that a glowing multi-colored ball found in the sea has the power to reset the clock and give them a second chance to be together. But each reset adds new complications and takes them farther and farther away from the real world – until they risk losing sight of reality altogether.

"Stunning! Fireworks will capture your heart! " – Gloria Daniels-Moss, HeyUGuys

Fireworks features the incredible hit song "Uchiage Hanabi" by DAOKO as the theme song, which took the internet by storm in 2017. With great voice-acting and a simple yet emotionally compelling plot, Fireworks is a gorgeous teen romance about missed opportunities and second chances. SHAFT has once again created another piece of work that would be remembered by many fans for years to come.

If you want to own a copy (or perhaps you missed it while it was screening in theaters), then this month you're in luck. Shout! Factory is releasing Fireworks in digital format and is available on iTunes today!
