I think he is refering to the roads that were shattered, the telephone poles that have fallen down etc. Those poor people though, it's going to take at least over a month or more to restore each and every road and fix or replace those telephone pools. And all that will cost quite a bit of money, so hopefully no more damages occur. |

Ah. I thought he might have been referring to Nagi herself and the whole unpleasant situation about how, because she once had a boyfriend, she was somehow impure (defiled). The thing that led to death threats against Takenashi.
Hopefully, he did indeed mean what you suggest he meant. |

If by "defiled" you are referring to the destruction of the region, then you're referring to a national tragedy which destroyed many beautiful things. The cause of this tragedy is impersonal: an earthquake followed by a tsunami.
If by "defiled" you are referring to Kannagi having had a boyfriend, and that she may no longer be a virgin, and so her purity was destroyed. The cause of this "defilement" is a person: Kannagi's creator, Takenashi. There is a big difference in stating that an impersonal act of nature defiles something, and blaming an author for making a choice about her creation as being defiling (the word has only negative connotations). Now, I've answered your question. How about you answer mine? What's been defiled? |

A few months? yeah like maybe 36. Three types of people will move back there now. The stubborn, the foolhardy, and those who's home wasn't damaged by the waves. It will never be the same again, but livable land to sooo scant on that Archipelago that it will be rebuilt, no mistake.

Yes, I have to agree that the area will never be the same and many will not return, especially considering the economic problems the prefecture was already facing, an aging population that outstrips the national average and declining fishing and agriculture businesses, even the unlikely economic helping business and employer- nuclear power, is obviously taking a huge hit.
