manga selling well is always great news!

This is true! Not just that, Sailor Moon is selling well, and if the manga sells well, there's STILL A BIG HOPEFUL CHANCE that Toei will reconsider the anime... It's the only series I look forward to actually double dipping on Smile ...I'd still keep my original sets too!

I was in B&N today saw Vol 1, started reading & went home with a copy, already pre-ordered Vol 2 from Amazon.

I never read the manga or watched the anime (except random episodes of the dub here & there).

But seeing that this release is only going to be 12 volumes (14 with the prequel) and the series is a Classic I thought why not?

And I keep telling myself not to start any new manga series but I think this is something that is worth adding to my collection.

I also really love the color pages at the start of the volume. It's a really nice release so I am happy to support it (and its going for very good prices at places like Amazon).

Holy cow, that's pretty amazing, wonder if TokyoPop realized if they would be just printing money if they had rereleased this series....

Which they lost the license like, years ago. At least a decade IIRC. To Stu, it was only a Tuesday.

What do you expect from a SIG? All SIG's are pretty much bias and only focus on a set parameter in order to further their ideals.

Truly I underestimated just how many of us Sailor Moon fans there are here in the states & Canada Wink (or the number of fans buying multiple copies...either way!)

There's a surprise.

Though, it's always nice to see articles like this showing the industry isn't as bad as some think it is.

What do you mean? Sailor Moon isn't some hip new series by some new artist, it's the most popular magical girl show of all times. How does this prove the WIPO wrong? Sailor Moon predates digital piracy by several years, and became famous through the tv series being syndicated by DiC and the toy line People who haven't bought a manga volume in years are buying this release since it's from a series from their childhood.

Last discussion you used One Piece, this discussion you use Sailor Moon, those are two of the most popular and influential manga of all times. They are hardly an average that you can use to prove a point.

Piracy doesn't hurt anything because that last Beatles reissue did really well.

lmao.. I was pretty much thinking the same thing.

Just because Sailor Moon's manga is selling well doesn't mean that scantalations aren't hurting plenty of other series and the industry as a whole..

Anyway.. always great to know that any manga series is selling well in the U.S. ^^

As a Sailor Moon fan, I find this awesome. Very Happy

So do I.

If this does not make some anime companies at least attempt to relicense the entire series, INCLUDING STARS and the three movies , and give the series a proper uncut english dub, instead of using Pioneer's stale version and DIC's heavily edited version for S1 & S2, then by god, NOTHING WILL!!!!

How about that, they Made something avaiable at a decent price and people didn't steal it. STRANGE, ISN'T IT?!

11 dollars SRP is standard price for manga, SM has a little more pages but I doubt the page count is why people are buying Sailor Moon.

Standard doesn't necessarily mean not decent.
