I just started this and I must say that this is one anime title that definitely looks like it is better in the high-res format. The sometimes cartoonish artwork can fool you into thinking this is just a -- for lack of a better word -- cartoon, but there is plenty to look at.

I haven't seen the DVD version but I suspect that the BD a worth-it improvement.

As for the story, it does seem frenetic and allegorical.

I personally think this show is hugely overrated. It's good, even great. But among the very, very best? not even close
