EW gives BATTLE ROYALE vol. 1 an A- in the 5/16 issue (and also warns uninitiated readers about the dangers of "unflipped" manga). I think this might be the first manga that Entertainment Weekly has reviewed.

I just picked it up today. It was different Shocked . I dont know about the charactors design, it look weird. It does feel like your reading a japanese manga at all. Kind of reminds me of the movie Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Lottery. I think I like this one and will be buying more volumes as they come.
