Mods,
I've noticed over the past couple days that the site has intermittent reachability problems. During those times, the site becomes unpingable. A traceroute stops at 66.250.4.22:

<snip>
13 p5-0.core01.mci01.atlas.cogentco.com (66.28.4.30) 48.289 ms 48.699 ms 49.594 ms
14 p5-0.core02.dfw01.atlas.cogentco.com (66.28.4.37) 48.303 ms 48.321 ms 49.553 ms
15 g50.ba01.b010621-0.dfw01.atlas.cogentco.com (66.28.65.122) 48.621 ms 48.783 ms 49.095 ms
16 ColoGuys.demarc.cogentco.com (66.250.4.22) 165.927 ms * *
17 * * *
18 * * *
19 * * *

A normal trace, while the site is working, goes all the way:

<snip>
13 p5-0.core01.mci01.atlas.cogentco.com (66.28.4.30) 48.310 ms 48.267 ms 48.331 ms

15 g50.ba01.b010621-0.dfw01.atlas.cogentco.com (66.28.65.122) 48.768 ms 48.777 ms 48.946 ms
16 ColoGuys.demarc.cogentco.com (66.250.4.22) 49.149 ms 48.979 ms 48.730 ms
17 roc.AnimeNewsNetwork.Com (66.207.162.10) 48.759 ms 49.449 ms 48.777 ms

Anyone else notice this?

Yeah. This can be due to 3 factors.

1) We recently had a weird PHP problem where one httpd process would spiral out of control, eat all the server's resources, and sometimes crash the server. We upgraded PHP a few days ago and haven't seen the bug since.

2) Our provider, cologuys, have been experiencing some weird upstream connectivity problems that they are currently trying to fix.

3) Fixing the problem involves trying out solutions that sometimes result in *more* connectivity problems.

I know, it's annoying, but hopefully it'll be resolved soon
