I also get the same error.
Anyways for High School DxD, if it's not the uncensored ATX version, then there's not much point in using Nico's or Funi's streams.

Suddenly, when I go to play any anime there, including an episode I viewed only 2 days earlier, it gives me the following message:
Quote: |
Failed to play the video
This video can only be viewed from the following regions:
CANADA
UNITED STATES |
Which is rather strange, given that I am in the southern United States. Signing out and signing back in had no effect.
I expect if I'm not in the minority here, views of their anime will be essentially zero until the problem is resolved. Too bad even contacting them requires have a Facebook account. |
If their facebook page is any indication, this is happening to everyone. It just started giving me that message last late last night. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.
Aside from this new issue, I actually haven't had any trouble with nico nico's video player. I prefer it to Funimation for watching Shana III.

As much as I would LOVE to support Symphogear, yeah, no.
I've never been able to get Nico's damn player to work. AT ALL. I tried catching the Fate/Zero streams only to get nothing.
And I'm in Canada.

The dang site is still down as of 6PM CT It actually went down on my last night around Midnight because I was watching Uta no Prince Sama and I went to watch the next episode and got the error (I'm trying to get caught up on stuff over there ) . So now I'm waiting for it to get back up. But really, I'm in Kansas for *bleep* sake, you can't get much more into the United States than that!

It is funny timing for the site to start messing up right before they announce new streams. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been sorted out yet.

Sweet. I have absolutely zero interest in using Niconico. I also have absolutely zero interest in any of these shows! Isn't it great when your various desires line up nice and neatly?

Working here as well, now (11:25 PM CST).
It do wonder why it took so long to resolve the problem after it was first reported. It doesn't give an impression of a professionally run site.

I love the NicoNico comment system. It's too bad so few English users use it.

Regarding the full-screen issues on NicoNico, all you have to do is go to the top right corner of the player where it says "Settings", click it and select "enlarge to fullscreen". And, right click the video itself, click "Quality", and select "High". NicoNico's streams are way better quality than FUNi's simulcast streams. I wish FUNi would use their 720p player to stream their simulcasts. It must be part of the deal they made with NicoNico.
And, I'm happy about Symphogear, I wanted to check that one out, but I didn't think any legal streams were gonna be available.

Regarding the region error, from nico nico's facebook:
"Thank you for your comment and we apologize for the inconvenience. Our web team has addressed the issue and it has been resolved."

My guess is everything has to filter through their (lack of) support channels back to Japan.

Then I definitely DON'T want my fansub aggregator to use the Nico rips.
