Wait, what? Who cares about simulcast rights, I want to buy Zombie on DVD and/or Blu Ray. Do they have those rights is the question?

There is no mention of Funimation having acquired those rights at this point, but it would be very easy for them to do so later (and they likely will, if the first series sells well).

It is interesting that the only mention of when we can expect simulcasting to begin is this from the article in the news section of Funimation's website:
Quote:
Full episodes will begin on www.niconico.com/anime & www.funimation.com during spring 2012.

So basically, Funimation wasn't even willing to promise they would start by the end of the month; not very comforting.

If their past history is anything to go by with these simulcasts, it's usually 3-5 weeks after they announce it that everything starts to kick in.

I have a high interest in Jormungand. The premise reminds me a little of Black Lagoon, which I'm reading through now (already seen the anime). Wonder if it will be just as gritty. Also interested in Is This a Zombie? of the Dead, although to a lesser degree. I'm looking forward to checking both series out.

I hope the fact that they launched Jormungand this Friday doesn't mean they are going to roll out one simulcast every Friday (or every week).

To be honest, that sentiment is less for myself than those that feel the need to watch ASAP. At this point, I'm still willing to wait and see if we either get 720p commercial free versions at Nico Nico, or barring that, 720p commercial free versions for Elite subscribers at Funimation.
