Well, if they can let Yosuga pass without a problem TLR-D wouldn't be much of a challenge I think. I can't say I know any kind of work which can overcome Yosuga anyway.
This is good news nevertheless.

On one hand, the power to restrict things found, "to be excessively disrupting of social order," is a rather broad mandate, but the council seems hesitant to exploit their authority. Two stories is hardly enough to make assumptions of any real strength upon, but I can't help but wonder if there's something going on underneath this.

Holy crap. If there was to be any manga to be targeted by that law it should be To Love Ru Darkness, but now that they've actually looked at it they're giving it a pass? If Darkness can get away with it no other title needs to be worried about its content.

I'll be honest, I have been tempted to import the To Love Ru and To Love Ru Darkness manga volumes from Japan due to the lack of a localised release, but I have often thought about whether I'll be convicted of trying to smuggle in child porn or something.
I remember being rather curious about how the new legislation would have affected the series, which iirc, had only recently started when the revision came into effect. Glad to see that it was found to not be going against that. |

I really wouldn't be worried to much about toloveru or darkness since most if not all the females do not fit the "loli mold or look". I have a few imported volumes myself without any problems so far but it's your choice. If this series was ever to be licensed I think seven seas or yen press would be the best choices. |

If it genuinely worries you, you can probably buy it in person at The Japan Centre in London. I got a few volumes of the original from there. Not that I believe you'd have any difficulties with getting it through customs. |

LOL, that kid got pwned up so hard right there. But nevertheless, I would really feel for the mother if her son is really young (the article never specified the age of the son). However I think it is toally fine for older people like around 16+ to be reading it, it's not that big of a deal since they have matured enough to control their behaviors. If the son in the article is at least 15 years old, then the mother who reported would be a total dick for doing it, she needs to respect her son's privacy.

Well, it may not be as much about the content as the effect here. I believe To Love Ru is a long-running Shounen Jump title, so taking that out would be a big loss to the industry for a whole side of fans reading the magazine. I don't know Yosuga no Sora's hold over the industry since I wasn't around for the hype, but I did hear that it avoided getting cut off of television because it would have been worse to do so rather than keep it.

I did not speak up, I was not a loli fan Then they came for the imotos I did not speak up, I got no bro complex Then they came for To Love-Ru -- I'm not surprised that it was looked at, I'm just surprised that it was among the stuff looked at. Like someone else said, the character designs don't look like they fit the 'loli mould' and the plot sounds like typical 'lol ecchi' stuff that's been around for decades. I mean, I'd be really kind of bummed if Ken Akamatsu was 'looked at' next. |

Mikan, Golden Darkness, and Nana are pretty loli. This is funny though, it has been almost like the author was making it this dirty on purpose to oppose the law

After reading the last two articles, it seems like the Council doesn't really want/care to restrict anything, but they are just leaving the option open to in case something blows up in the news so they have the ability to take action.
